Defensive organization is the difference here. Villa defense actually try to stop goals. Sad part is that due to Villa's high line and Eriksen in midfield, this game was a good opportunity for our attackers to get some confidence in front of goal. But our defense has completely shit the bed here and Villa only need to hit a few good counters to put this one beyond us.

There is a very slight chance the players surprise us and get a goal early in the second half and manage to turn it around because I don't think Villa will shut up shop from the start. But it's far more likely for us to be all huff and puff and end up with 20 offsides while Villa win 0-3. It hurts when a Manchester United team is more likely to collapse than comeback.

I think there's a plan to turn the ball over, we're moving it quickly, the players seem to get the ball into all the right positions. They just don't seem to have the quality/composure to do anything when they get there.

I'll make my case: if we have Kane up top in that half instead of Hojlund do we score? I think yes, absolutely. He had some proper number 9 chances he's just not sniffed. It's a player problem for me personally, though of course it's on the manager to GET those players.

The initial mistake was by Mainoo but then it's Evan's responsibility to deal with it.
