You can add Højlund and Zirkzee to that. We wasted an incredibly amount of resources and only made the squad worse. Meanwhile there seems to be a serious overrating of players like Garnacho, Mainoo, and Dalot. They can't be starters just because they've put in the good game here and there.

It's not the manager. He's not doing a perfect job, clearly, but any manager coming into this shitshow would struggle.

The squad. It's shite.

He has had enough time now to know the limits of this squad, he should be able to throw a team together to beat teams like Brighton at home.

He still has time but looks like he hasn't a clue how to fix this with the current squad of crap.

This is bollocks. We are not expected to lose to Bournemouth, wolves, Forrest, spurs, Brighton and scrape past Southampton "regardless of what he does" (all but spurs being at OT too). Such performances are very much avoidable.

With all the money Chelsea have spent they are still looking to recruit. We desperately need a couple of players and there has been no attempt to try. It’s pathetic and just shows INEOS ambition.

That's how teams get relegated. Russell Martin was destroyed for refusing to change his teams system before getting the boot.

He needs telling from above, adapt until you have suitable players or face the consequences of continued defeats.

The honeymoon period is over for me now, he got away with one against Southampton, today he's been schooled by Brighton.

I agree largely but the problem is you want to see incremental changes. So far, barring the 3-4 games, there’s not much evidence of improvement.

The pressing has gotten progressively as bad as it was, the defence is leaking, the midfield still cannot do much to control, the forwards are not creating much at all. Will we suddenly turn it around next season magically?
 
Amen to this. We need to stop making excuses for the managers. They are there to get the best out of the squad available, not to make every opposition look like prime Barcelona.

This is a lazy post. Conte and Tuchel both changed their formations and systems they started with at Chelsea.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I'm not sure what the answer is which is why I'm cutting him more slack than some others in here. It can't be overstated how poor the squad really is, and when you compound it with your 50m keeper being a coin flip of whether he'll be world class or cost you an entire result on a week by week basis it just makes things even tougher.
 
In fairness we look like a team with 8 defensive players and a none scoring striker.

We’ll be in trouble against against anyone if we keep insisting on having 2 threatening players in our 11.

Also, what does Mainoo do?

It must be, at least this season. Many responses during games are made impulsively and without any careful consideration and lack of judicious reasoning. It is the same in most of the threads typically, but the quality of this thread especially, devolves massively into chaos during any loss.
 
So many of these players just have no business playing for Man Utd. Woodward, Arnold, Murtough, Ten Hag - the worst squad building ever seen.

I dont understand this at all. Why should we keep on accepting that losing games is OK? What makes you so certain that he will be able to turn this around when he gets his players?

I understand PSR, but come on, there has to be a way to get him a couple of new players. What the feck was the point in getting in a manager mid season with a drastically different playing style if they had no intention to recruit first team players mid season!

This just shows a complete lack of planning or understanding.

Yep we are not an academy team were results do not matter. It is stupid expecting a whole team to learn a new system that they are not capable to play in and compete in the premier league. That only happens in video games. Wrong appointment in Ten hag and same with Amorim.
