Maz in CM. We can’t play Casemiro there next Bruno, he’s too immobile. Unless we switched to an 3 man midfield which we won’t.

    Onana
De Ligt - Maguire - Yoro
    Dalot - Mazraoui - Bruno - Dorgu
    Eriksen - Zirkzee - Garnacho

I think it may well be Mazraoui or Dalot in midfield alongside Bruno, there has to be someone who can run at least. I don’t think you can play any combination of Bruno, Casemiro and Erisken as the midfield two without it being a disaster.

Antony was shit for us though and given he only played about 130 minutes of football in the league this season he wasn’t even a squad player, just making up the numbers.

We had no one to replace Amad with or without Antony, it’s pointless complaining about him not being here.
Don’t you understand that it was obvious to replace Anthony and/or Rashford
Man Utd cannot only have Garnacho and Amad as wing forward and hope they don’t get injured, what happens if we suffer more injuries.
A Team should have at least 2 players for every position.its just incompetent management.
No other team in world football behaves like this.
I’m totally fed up with the mismanagement of this team.

Well we did replace Antony and Malacia with Dorgu, he’ll play more than either of those two did or would do combined. To replace Rashford you have to sell him, to sell him you had to loan him out. It’s not incompetent it’s dealing with the situation, it’s not ideal but what would have been incompetent is keeping Antony and Rashford.

Antony played less than 90 mins in total in the Europa, just over 90 mins in the league, 0 goals, 0 assists. Rashford couldn’t even motivate himself to train properly, that’s what we’ve let go. Keeping them is worst case, offloading both but only getting Dorgu is far from ideal of course but it’s a step forward. Ideally we’d have bought another player they intended to get in the summer but who knows how plausible that was or how much they tried.

The time to judge their competence is in the summer, that’s when they need to make sure they get these players sold and bring new players in.

No Amad, No Mainoo, No Ugarte, No Collyer, No Mount, No Martinez, No Shaw but there's still a chance.

    Onana
    Dalot
    Dorgu
    Mazraoui
    De Ligt
    Yoro
    Casemiro
    Bruno
    Eriksen
    Garnacho
    Zirkzee

    That team can win
    Maguire
    Bayindir
Hojlund and 6 kids on the bench

Erikson and Casemiro from the start? Doesn't matter that Erikson is a 10. We have been being outplayed and outfought for last periods these last few weeks and that was with Ugarte and Collyer available - no reflection on them but the lack of strength and stamina in the rest of the team compared to other EPL teams.

Having Casemiro in the middle is probably unavoidable but also starting Erikson would be a real ask for us to still be in the game by the 60th minute when both of these would have to come off.

The pace of this team! Even spurs will run through this team easily.

We would probably have to sit deep to protect legs but that team would create chances provided Dalot and Dorgu are allowed play on the correct sides. They along with Garnacho would have to provide the outball

This could be messy with a midfield of Casemiro and Bruno. We're going to get completely overrun. There still a good player in Eriksen (and he has to play) but this won't be the game for him either.

Maybe Maz will play midfield? Gamble on a 90 minute Dorgu? Possibly a wingback Garnacho and fill the 10s with midfielders? Good chance both Zirkzee and Hojlund start now.

I can see it be either of:

    Onana
    De LigtMaguireYoro
    DalotMazraouiBrunoEriksenDorgu
    ZirkzeeHojlund

Though I assume Amorim will outstubborn his predecessor and go for his 3-4-2-1 no matter what:

    Onana
    MazraouiDe LigtYoro
    DorguCasemiroBrunoDalot
    EriksenGarnacho
    Hojlund

Good chance Zirkzee starts, but something tells me he'll get on around minute 60 again  Kinda hope for a Garnacho super-sub deal though, perhaps Hojlund.

Maybe just bring some type of shadow striker / false winger / #10 from the youth along though...

Squad is officially threadbare now, so many players moved out and not in any way replaced. Shame the under 18 played yesterday as that would have been some very inexperienced depth for the bench.
On a side note, seriously need to update the match day selection Caf mods.

How many years have we been operating without any legs in midfield now? It’s bordering on gross negligence.

So we replaced 3 players with 1 and were actively trying to get rid of Cas and Garnacho
I hope these terrible short sighted decisions don’t come back and bite us.
Let’s just somehow pray we can find 3 to 4 wins from somewhere to save us from relegation.
Like I said it’s just poor incompetent planning.

What the feck have we been doing in training?! 4 injuries??

    Sigh...

    Onana

    Maz De Ligt Yoro

    Dalot Bruno Casemiro Dorgu

    Zirkzee Garnacho

    Hojlund

Yeah three players who didn’t play with 1 who will, and increased our chances of getting rid of those three permanently in the summer. Two players who’ve been very poor for 18 months or more and one who is nowhere near recovering from a serious injury.

Keeping them would have been short sighted and showed a lack of planning because most likely they contribute nothing of value and then their almost impossible to sell in the summer.

There’s a plan to get rid of players on better terms, so far it’s working but it’s very early days. The most important part is who comes into the club in the summer of course.

We could do with some rotation for this one.

    ................ Heaton

    Bayindir - Evans - Martinez

    Amad - Ugarte - Collyer - Shaw

    ......... Mainoo - Mount

    ................. Vital

I'd go with (Dalot and Dorgu may swap):

    Onana

    Back Three

    Dalot -- Maz --- Casemiro -- Dorgu

    -------Bruno ----- Garnacho--
    ----------Zirkzee--

We’re getting twatted here without a formation change……..but then again I could probably type that every game day thread

Amorim's setup really emphasizes the weak spots in our squad without playing to any of it's strengths.

To be clear, I am not pretending that anything has been good in the last few years, but the things that kept us above relegation have been productivity from our wide players (Rashford and Garnacho) and Bruno chipping in from his free roaming position behind the striker. The weak points have been a weak CM, weak CF and fullbacks who don't contribute much offensively besides Shaw.

Our current setup takes Bruno further away from where he is effective, and puts him in a position where the weaknesses in his game are more amplified, and on top of that we don't really have any other serviceable CM's to play alongside him besides Ugarte. Our WB's aren't really doing much more than they were doing when played as fullbacks.

    Wasn't confident for this anyway.
Then heard Mainoo, Ugarte and Amad are out.
    Honestly, what a season.

Surely Ange is sacked if he can't beat this terrible, injury ridden united side.

    Is Maguire injured too?
Why is nobody choosing him ?

Just park the bus and get a fecking draw. I am tired of losing 3-0 to these teams.

Not looking forward to this after the injuries this week. Really hard to think want team Amorin will put out. I think he has to go for experience over untested youth team players in midfield, so Casemiro and Eriksen hopefully have one performance in them.

Apparently Amass has travelled with the squad alongside the others that have been mentioned.

Need legs against Spurs. We go with Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield and we’ll get killed.

Sounds daft, but I’d rather Yoro alongside one of those In midfield!
