Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach | Thread locked during matches

So the players put us in that position but Amorim got us out?
must be annoying defending players who aren't going to be here next year but disliking a manager who will be here next year, how do you live?

He could have changed the formation and brought a midfielder on, so yes I am going to bash him for that. He needs to stop being one dimensional.

Change the formation when we were all over them and everyone was playing well? That would be a bit stupid.

It’s not something he is ever going to do so it’s not something worth arguing about.

Dream on if you think the money is there for us to replace all of those players.

He had a clear idea what to do in second half of ET and it showed. You don't score 3 goals in 6 minutes by pure luck.

That reminded me of Liverpool vs Dortmund early in Klopp's reign. Hopefully it kick-starts something in a similar vein.

Well bringing on Luke Shaw who hasn’t played for four months, sure was genius.

We were 2-0 and cruising at half time when the change was made. It’s almost the perfect time to get minutes in to his legs wouldn’t you say?

How the feck can you guys be in here moaning after that? Moments like this is what football is all about. Just enjoy it for gods sake.

 at least I'll be dreaming amorim will still be here next season, must hurt you regardless. Some of you angry tonight that he won that and showing it on here sums it up

They were instructed to sit back.
He just gave an interview where he bemoaned the team dropping deep when they get tired. It absolutely is not what he is instructing the team to do.

Just stick Maguire upfront and get crosses in. Amazing what happens when you get crosses in to box and have a big man up there that can head a ball.

So you essentially have no point considering that was the only defender he had and it would have been silly to change the formation.

So bring on an extra midfielder? We played better when we had our CB in attack.

You already have Ugarte and Casemiro in midfield. Is that not enough protection for four defenders?

No idea how you can even start to "rate" that game as a managerial performance.

Fair fecks to him for keeping Maguire up front at 4-4, though.

Some unfortunately never learn on here of the bad habits the players have picked up, they're delusion to think it's always the manager even after years of witnessing the same ol' crap.

Playing against 10 and throwing everything at them was not tactical. Yes it was a great comeback but that tends to blur the actual performance and we forget we were 4-2 down against 10 men and we’re getting outplayed for more than 60 mins at that point.

We were literally the better team until they scored their 1st goal and had Garnacho scored that easy chance, we would have been out of sight. After they scored, we were poor.

Yeah. I dont personally think a forward missing a chance equates to an excuse to concede 4 goals off the back of it, with 2 of them against 10 men.

Whats the point of playing negative, defensive dross when you concede 4 goals anyway

How am I defending them? If we can praise Amorim why can't we at least praise them too? Or must be always call them shit just so we can't criticise Amorim.

And what the feck was your last bit about exactly?

That was an incredible capitulation. To go from two up and cruising to four-two down, with a man advantage, was utterly shocking.

But to still somehow win the game. Yowzers. Could that be the turning point for Ruben? Stranger things have happened.

At the very least, given the horror show the club has become, it’s lovely to see a smile on the manager’s face.

I’m not sure any manager can restore United to former glories, but oh how I’d love to see Ruben get through this adversity to land a European trophy.

We are obviously a team running on fumes right now. The drop off after an hour was ridiculous. Amorim should have made the changes sooner but I sort of get his reluctance.

feck the league, rest everyone before the semi finals.

To be honest, no one plays that way anymore which means no one is really used to defending against it

I really like him but I still don’t think this formation will be successful in the PL, hope I’m wrong but in general we are so bad at playing it.

He's basically said they team lacked the pace and power to compete in the PL just there on TNT Sports. He knows what we're lacking.

Hard to argue with you when you never ever do that, so what's the point having a constructed argument in anything when you have a clear agenda.

No it just goes hand in hand. It can't be all one when it goes wrong and all the other when it goes right.

You kind of do to be fair....

What a fecking night. I cannot believe it

I went through so many emotions
I was impressed with myself for actually accepting defeat in the 5 mins between the penalties. Then I had that fecking hope back in me after Bruno. Then I had a terrible feeling that we were gonna equalise late late on and lose on penalties. Then when Kobbie scored I just knew the winner was coming.

Sorry I feel like I have to write it all down as a way to get the heart rate finally back to normal. Never seen anything like it.

until their first goal we should have been 4-0 up and long out of sight.

I agree with him. Dorgu isn’t the answer though we need technical quality to go with the physical traits. Hope Wilcox and co pick better in the summer.

Casemiro showed up as a leader. His class and experience shined.
Mainoo did great aswell.

I never said it was an excuse, we clearly just lost it mentally after that with stupid mistakes. We should have put the game to bed.

Ah yes, the agenda card. Original.

Get your facts right. I was supportive of Amorim at the start but its slowly drained as times gone on.

Now you wanna clarify your other comment about living? Or you going hide behind the agenda card?

being miserable when it comes to the manager and always having an agenda, rather than supporting mate. Like I said, can't argue when you've already decided it's the manager who's at fault in everything, pointless arguing.

They scored 2 against us with 10 men and we didn’t get a shot on target during that time. We had the Garna big miss but they missed plenty in the first leg.

We were never in control of the leg, let alone the whole tie. We got a get out of jail card with a miracle which perhaps happens once in a lifetime for most of these players.
