Bryan Mbeumo | Ornstein: Player favours United - pending clubs reaching financial agreement

So would I , however concerned about Cunha, Amad and Delap as a front 3, just feel it lacks enough goals
easy solution is to get a better CF than Delap, instead of splashing additional 60m on Mbeumo.

I agree but doesn't feel like that's the plan, the top two targets look unobtainable and Delap is other one on list

Based on Amorim’s post match conference it sounded like he ideally wants a left footer in the right 10 slot so I’d be surprised if we signed two right footers in Cunha and Mbuemo.
Cunha is ambidextrous, can pass and shoot with either foot.

Great player.

1+1 years left on his deal...could be a nice Salah replacement.

We could definitely use someone like him, 19 goals and 7 assists in the league on the wing is outstanding. Good age profile as well at 25

Another big strong guy we haven't got many, £50 million though..

In the big picture 50, plus 90 for Cunha and Delap is 140 million for an entirely new front 3 and one that gives options should any be missing or injured. All three have proven themselves capable of meeting the physical side of the PL. Im not saying its what I think we should do but you could do alot worse business I feel.

Yeah I would like to see that front 3, his goals and assists takes so much pressure off Delap but can't see it. There seems a lot of noise about him and Newcastle

Agree, but I realy think Delap fits the way there doing transfers , but this guy should also be on the radar as well because transfers may depend on what happens on Wed night .

When you look at Whitwell latest article it seems we see him as a backup striker target to Delap. Personally I find that baffling as his best stuff comes from the right side.

To me this feels like a next year story. Brentford (understandably) want to cash in on him and don't want him to run his contract down. He's also on really low wages (45k p/w) and he's interested in making more money. Either Brentford come up with the 150k p/w and get him to sign a new deal or he moves for cheap next summer

Still think Newcastle could make a move this summer, think he would be a quality signing but wouldn't want to do it at the expense of signing CM

Yeah same .. I didn't even know Newcastle were in for him.

If we do get a player for the right side of the attack, I'd rather it be a more creative type, assuming Cunha is coming to fill the spot on the left.

I really like Mbeumo as a player, but I don't think he creates all that much outside of set pieces. Would prefer someone good in tight spaces and able to pick a pass through to Cunha or whoever ends up at #9.

Do you think that's Cherki or got someone else in mind?

With Zirkzee operating as a false 9, Cunha and Mbeumo will bring lot of goals.

What we need however is a proper #9, capable of bringing in a lot more goals than the 10s. Zirkzee definitely does not fit the profile for that.
What if we can't afford or simply attract one now?

Then United will continue to underperform, Ruben will likely be sacked by Christmas, and Berrada will be in hot water with SJR, as United would've failed to resolve the #1 problem that resulted in a 17th place finish this year.

Mbeumo could fit the RWB role as his physical profile is very similar to Quenda just more developed due to his age

Take it Delap really concerns you then

while i agree that the striker position is a big issue....IMO, in this system, the two #10's are the biggest issue with this squad. they have to produce goals and have failed to do so.

That's why this deal makes a lot of sense, the problem is being able to fund it in our financial situation

Depends if we buy Gyokeres and Delap, or just Delap. If its the latter, then it will be a monumental bat signal that INEOS are not serious about moving the needle at United.
I wouldn't go that far
