What now?

Probably more sackings of people who work at the club. Not the one who need to be sacked.

Trying to not get caught up in the absolute flood of hatred for everyone who was out there for that shitshow. No Europe means squad size can be much smaller. Thankfully players like rashford and Sancho should be less inclined to stick around. Hope casemiro gets a decent offer to go elsewhere that he wants. Better start finding good buys in the scouting department cause any "top target" player prob steers clear of this pile of shit.

At this point there's maybe 3-4 players I'd want to keep, could move on from any and all of the rest and think it would be fine. Prob looking at top 10 finish as the goal now for next season.

We’re fecked, basically. We’re going to be looking at Liam Delap as our main striker next season, and I think we’ll be very lucky if Bruno is still with us next season.

Maybe knee jerk, but I really do think this is so damaging.
It’s not. Look what the club just did to staff, season ticket holders etc. now we have ZERO money from European competition next season, ZERO. You think sir jim is gonna swallow that? We will be selling our best players, at discount prices, and replacing with academy players/loans/players who aren’t good enough to be top ten in the PL.

Trust me, the glory days are officially over. We are more likely to be relegated before we win the PL again, let that sink in

Yeah, so what now? In many ways that was a fitting end to a tragic season. No silverware; no Champions League football, which means that we're missing out on prestige and decent money. We're cash-strapped. Morale is at an all-time low.

Would players want to join us, given that Amorim's rebuild has taken a massive hit after tonight? Or should he go?
Honestly, I have no idea. I'm completely apathetic to yet another managerial change and would rather avoid it. I'm not sure many managers would do much better with this squad. Like, maybe we'd be 12th instead of 16th? But I've also lost any faith in this 3421 business.

This is the nadir many people envisioned would eventually come our way after the Glazers bought the club. Maybe INEOS could have turned it around if they'd got in earlier, but feels like we'd already gone beyond a tipping point

Luckily we’re already signing Cunha. But we can kiss goodbye to Gyokeres

This is a vicous cycle because again fans don't pin the blame where it should be. On the owners. Fans should be demanding INEOS & Glazers SELL the team and bring new owners who can start afresh with the new coach, new director football and new players.
Focus on the Owners. Whatever INEOS is doing isn't working

He's gonna stay. We'll give him the players he needs to apparently make this shit show work, and by November when we're languishing around 15th he'll get the sack.

And it starts all over again.
This. It’s Deja Vu from Ten Haag just without the few glory parts. I actually wouldn’t be too upset if Amorim quit. The only way it can get lower than this is if we get relegated next season

It was once said that when Rupert Murdoch wanted to buy the club that he would rape it

Tonight the Glazers achieved that

I've finally hit the acceptance stage in fully knowing that we're a banter club.

In a slightly more serious note, bring a PL proven manager and set the ship right before we're in danger of relegation.

Amen.

This is what rock bottom feels like.
At the rate we've collected league points for the last two months, if we continue that form we'll be rock bottom of the league.

Huge work needed over the summer.

Lose to Villa, finish fourth from bottom and then hope next season is better.

Winning tonight would have been great short term but this is years to fix properly and the club will be defined by how quickly it can dismantle and then rebuild a much better squad of players.

Let’s be honest Amorim is done already so who we choose to replace him with next season is going to be significant as well.

Keep Maz, Yoro, De Ligt, Maguire, Amad, Bruno, Mainoo, Garnacho and Zirkzee and bin the rest.

We need a huge rebuild to be even close to a competent team.

Doesn't really matter, honestly. Without CL football, we're not making any big signings like Gyokeres. The signings we're linked to are underwhelming. And the squad we have isn't anywhere close to being something to be excited for.

Next season is another midtable finish, maybe we can hope for a conference league spot or something. But there are just better teams in the running for it.

We sack Amorim and get in a manager who can get more out of these players and keep us in the fecking Premier League. That's where we are at.

disgusting situation and it's all money. they aren't here to play for Manchester United they are here for money. no heart, no soul I feel personally this is the final straw. desperation wasn't here tonight for a chance of glory it was for a chance to build a foundation. That is gone all hope ripped away from us mugs that watch every week

I’m really worried about Amorim. There has been no sign of adaptation, in what is a significant amount of time.

I never expected the finished product, but he’s taken us backwards, significantly so.

This is a huge decision point, we’re about to fire off all our wingers and traditional back 4 system based players to bring in specialised 10’s & wing backs.

I personally have little confidence based on what I’ve seen thus far that he can get the message across to these players, the majority of which will still be here next season.

I am very, very concerned.

It’s been a Liverpool fans wet dream.

In all fairness I don’t know. This is a very difficult moment for us in our history. The only thing I can say is that there is a plan for the summer and we will see it through. Amorim will get a lot of stick but he’s going to have to take the flack.

I looking forward to getting what will feel like a very toxic game at Villa over and detaching from football for a bit.

Yeah this is bad. Missed out on £85m tonight. Will probably have to sell more players to buy now, and any attempt at rejuvenation and building a proper team will take a lot longer.
That’s good because only 3-5 of them deserves to stay anyway.

We need a hard reset instead of papering the cracks like we’ve been doing for over 10 years. Rangnick got the idea right but they fecked him over.

Move every player above 25 if possible, get hungry players who want to prove themselves and make the step up. Sick of watching us being physically dominated in every fecking game.

Assuming we are getting Cunha, we need a top striker and top GK. Id give him like others are saying till late October next year - he knows himself that he has to start delivering ASAP.

Disappointing tonight. But we move on.

We prat for those drag along rights to come into effect. This is surely the end of the road for the Glazer ownership?

Im tired, your tired, this room is tired!

This is the best thing that could happen to United.
Your club need to grind it the hard way. Small steps.
This win would have put some paper over the cracks.
United do not need CL or the money. You guys can't get transfer right anyway and pay overprice for literally everyone. Now you might find hidden gems or get more out of current squad.

Europa League is anyways not a big trophy. It's a nice trophy for teams like Tottenham Arsenal etc. United already has 3 UCL. You guys will be back stronger in 2-3 years.

Now officially the worst United team I’ve ever seen in 57 years

Shocking

There’s not one players to build a team round

No one

You know things are bad because each time we think we are at rock bottom things get worse. This feels like rock bottom but genuinely because of missing out on Champs league we now can't buy the players we need and our squad is packed full of really poor players with abysmal attitudes - which means next season could be worse. This is a decade of bad decisions made by idiots bordering on corruption all come to a head

The championship looms large next season. Where does this great club go now, absolutely rock bottom.

Fergie with that rat Glazer in the stands, then you had Rio and Scholesy shaking hands with the rat pre game. feck off - seriously

This is the abyss. A truly horrific collection of spineless men playing for a club with cash strapped owners and a a manager who can't coach the system he knows
I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue

Winning tonight would have been great short term but this is years to fix properly and the club will be defined by how quickly it can dismantle and then rebuild a much better squad of players.

Winning tonight would have been massive, since if the last 4-5 years haven't been a great indicator, the problem with Manchester United is the players. CL football would have allowed us to potentially sign better players.

Our 2 best players are in their 30s. Amad is pretty good. The likes of Mainoo and Yoro could potentially have a great season next year if they get their shite together. Out of the entire team sheet, literally nobody else is anything close to quality. With CL football we may still have needed 1-2 more years to build a decent squad, but without it, we're looking at 4-5.

I know it makes sense to say that this is the time to shift out our players, but who will have them?

Massive rebuild and a much smaller squad. Some huge decisions to make on Garnacho, Mainoo and dare I say it, maybe even Bruno who is by far our best player (terrible tonight though) .

We sack Amorim and get in a manager who can get more out of these players and keep us in the fecking Premier League. That's where we are at.
I don't care if we sack him or not. They need to sell the team. We desperately need goals in the January window and they couldn't afford to bring a back up striker. We are UTD and we may be only be able to afford 2 players this offseason without massives sales. Meanwhile City who had a bad season spent 200 mil in January and will spend a ton more in the summer. And chelsea keep on spending money every window.

The team needs to be sold
