Bruno Fernandes Out?

I honestly think we should cash in on him, it's gonna take us a few years to get back to the top and he's at an age where we aren't really helping him anymore. We need to rip it up under Amorim and start again, just as he did in his first summer at Sporting. Nobody was off the table.

It's not because he isn't good, he's probably one of the only players that can hold his head high over the years since he's joined us. But we need to think with our head and not our hearts now, we'll not get the kind of money we can get for him ever again and a large cash injection from his sale will really help us to rebuild.

I agree, our best player by far. However he's 30 now and will be on the decline. If you can get £80mil for.him. Use it for the rebuild.

Where does this idea of a £100m+ Saudi bid come from?

So far the biggest transfer they've made was £76m for Neymar.

I'd be amazed if we got an offer of more than £80m.

Reality is probably more like 40M when his age is considered, there is one club that buys players of his age for insane fees but sadly we are not selling to ourselves. I think even at 40M it is worth a conversation as there is no amoritization so it is profit that helps balance the books and will allow us to put money down on a couple of new signings. The value of this is of course predicated on us getting the new signings right, not something we have a strong track record with in recent times.

It genuinely pains me to say it, he's been like the one shining light during these years of turmoil, even if he's been off it at times like last night. At least he seems to be one of the only players that cares, and seeing him in another big team would feel surreal. But he wants to compete, and we aren't gonna be competing for another few years. We have a chance to rip it up, no distractions next season, and I think moving on is best for both parties at this time.

I'm not going to say no if he really wants to help us get back to the top though to be honest, but none of this Bruno in CM nonsense, stuff like that needs to stop.

Our best player by far, but we could do with a rebuild and I think pretty. Much everyone bar Yoro and Amad should be considered as sellable.

How much would the Saudis be willing to pay for him? Anything near 80m, we'd be stupid not to sell. Missing out on CL money has changed the situation with regards to considering offers for him imo.

I hear you, but I think we have to be talking even more stupid money. £80m doesn’t get you far nowadays.

I don’t think it’ll be Coutinho money, but that has to be the model or it becomes a pointless exercise.

They’re estimating losing out on near enough an additional £75-100m without CL next season, so selling your best player has to cover that AND some.

So we go cap in hand to the Saudis. Take our shit players (and Bruno) for huge money and maybe we play a few friendlies there? Idk.

Last night's loss was disastrous. In every sense of the word.

Is the Cunha signing a pre cursor to Bruno leaving for Saudi? There’s no doubt they’ll offer a huge amount of money to convince United into selling him. Not even sure what sort of transfer fee would even be realistic, probably around €100m for him.

Yeah I reckon that's happening

What is this idea that a player crossing 30 will be on the decline now. His prime years are coming up.

meh each player is different. Cant just lump them together. No idea how bruno will age, but if we persist with him as a CM it wont be pretty.

Man if saudis are handing us a 9 figure sum then we should take it. He is the main man right now but we need to move away from individual brilliance and a more team effort. As much as Id like to surround Bruno with better players we just dont have the money....

Absolutely nailed it

selling is much better option than playing him as a CM here. You cant have the ability to turn it over 27 times in a game at that position. Pretty sure this isnt his first time either having just insane turnover stats. Needs to play AM, or just sell. The funny thing was he wasnt even turning it over on some great attempts to make things happen, it was just basic shit a lot of the time.

No hard feelings at all if he leaves. He’s been an excellent player hitting at least 20 combined goals and assists every single season he’s been here and never being injured. If the likes of Shaw, Rashford etc. had half of that consistency/quality we’d be in a much better place.

Good luck to him if he goes.

I think this is fair. He'll be at his peak for, let's say up to three years, and we're not making that much ground up. He's better than other CMs for the system, but equally the system doesn't suit him as he doesn't get close enough to goal in the midfield two.

Adiós, at 30 it's the right time to sell.

His performance last night is a good indicator of his ceiling when it comes to United excelling at a level that's close to the pedigree of the clubs stature.

To be fair to Shaw injuries fecked him. Quality was not his problem. He was unlucky. We should have sold him long ago for some decent cash.

The day we sell him I'm throwing something on the grill for a bbq. Hopefully it's this summer.

He's been the main part of this failing team and while it's far from being all his fault, the type of player he is means he'll always be central to the team. We've tried and tested this formula for so many years ow and its a failure. I have no idea why people are happy to keep running it back.

We will never have a true rebuild as long as he's here.

While I do agree it's time for him to be sold. This post is utter none sense.

If we sell him because it's probably the last train to do so, looking at his age and even a potential decline, it is understandable to do so for a large fee +-100 mil.
But talent and impact wise, I doubt we will see a player with his quality in the next decade wearing our shirt.

I would sell. Bruno's quality is undeniable but how different can the team/system/style be, if he is still in it? Everything will still go through him and we will live or die by Bruno's performance. Last night was a good example of that, he wasn't performing so we didn't perform.

As good as he is, he's not so good that we can afford to be Bruno plus ten others and I think that's where we are currently.

Selling Bruno would be insane. For a start hes not the type to go and play in a mickey mouse league to empty stadiums. So it would not be a huge fee from them but a modest fee from someone in europe. Is 40m worth losing our best player ? Hes probably got 5 years left in him.

Anything over £90m and we bite their hand off.

Its time for a huge rebuild, no European football next season so use it as a chance to trim the squad down. Quality over quantity.

I'm still not sold on Amorims tactics though, but we're stuck with him.

If he does end up going, it's a huge part of the identity goin with him. Of course, he has been here through some shit times, but he's been the one player you feel like has had the necessary quality and has been a constant presence over the last 5-6 years.

It would be pretty sad really. He's not a perfect player, but he has mostly dragged us up a level or two. This team without Bruno is even more of a pile of nothing.

Dunno. He can be an infuriating player and too much of his energy/focus is on pointless shit like diving and incessant whinging but we'd be a Championship side without him. The numbers he put up for a side just above relegation is outrageous.

I'd say keep him. With a decent/good striker to connect with things could look rosy-er.

We’re run by money men so I think Bruno is as good as gone.

If Saudi will bid 120m, let’s say that’s 30m over next 4 years of (at best) peak Bruno.

Not receiving that 700k a week + his 300k a week salary… the money men are gonna be asking if he’s worth 1m a week for the next 4 years and will clearly answer No.

He’s gone.
