Bryan Mbeumo | Improved offer not actually placed yet (Ducker) | United confident they can close the deal

Adding him to Cunha behind a decent striker would be excellent. I'd even accept missing out on other positions if we could do this.

Cunha and Mbeumo would be exciting especially with our only focus really being the PL

Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Carreras (potential selling on) then we also have wages off the wage books.

I think we can definitely do this with Garna sell on.

We still need a midfielder and right wingback + GK if onana moves on (hopefully)

Mbuemo cunha Delap… not bad I guess. Still need midfielder at the very least and gk

He's on about 45k per week am sure we could triple that.
By the way I was thinking how many wide men have scored up to 20 goals in the EPL era. Ronaldo, Salah. Did Mane? Hazard? Bale? Sterling?

That’s a big outlay! I wouldn’t expect us to do that and Cunha to be fair.
Realistically I'd only expect 3-5 signings this summer. If Mbuemo is who we're pushing for, that'd be:
  • Mbuemo
  • Cunha
  • Delap
  • ??? Goalie if Onana leaves
  • ??? CM if Casemiro leaves
Depth wise that'd leave us in a pretty normal spot too for the games we'll have next year. I'd imagine we'd sell/loan/release:
  • Rashford
  • Antony
  • Sancho
  • Hojlund
  • Eriksen
  • Garnacho
  • Lindelof
  • Evans
  • Shaw

Bit of an awkward style when I watch him though. He's not one of those graceful players but things keep working out for him
He reminds me a bit of Mane at Southampton.

Eriksen, Evans and lindelof are gone already it's confirmed at the end of the game Vs villa.

How serious are the Newcastle links?

100% it's not graceful, but this is why the club is looking at it from a statistical point of view

With Rashford, Sancho, Antony and possibly Garnacho all removed from the squad you can't just into next season with Cunha and Amad.

United will need to add more than that this summer... posting formations is fun but you can't field the same 11 players every match.

Happy to see us starting to be linked with him, his output in the league has been very impressive since joining.

£50M is a really good price for him. One year left on his contract but I believe Brentford have an option for another year.

He reminds me a bit of Mane at Southampton.
Hmm Mane was a superb dribbler and absolutely rapid. Mbuemo is a bit like a bull in a china shop the way he carries the ball and bundles through players but he's very consistent in the end product in the last season. I dont think the end product was near as good in the seasons prior to that (open play). That doesn't concern me though because he's very physical and will just be a big problem for the opposition. I can imagine him and Delap being 2 shithouses.

Shearer namechecked it on MotD apparently, and you'd think he's heard things from his Saudi buddies.

His end product has always been good in my opinion. It just depends what he was asked to do.

When Toney is there he was asked to create more. When Toney was banned he scored more. For me hes been their best player (even when Toney was there)

Would be incredible if we get him. Unsure if we’re genuinely in for him though. Would surely mean Amorim sees Amad as a RWB because even though depth is incredibly important, I don’t see us buying Mbeumo to cover Amad at right 10, given how good the latter has been for us.

I think Zirkzee would be a great foil for both Cunha and Mbeumo.

Yeah it's pace and power. Some serious power. Also good movements and finishing. He's technique is solid though.

Thats true I remember during Toneys ban Mbeumo had no problem carrying the burden

Him and Cunha would be pretty transformative to our team to be fair. We simply don't have players like them in the squad

Cheers. Hoping we can get him ahead of Newcastle if they are interested.
If we're really serious I think we're still the more attractive option. I know they're doing better now but they haven't shown the sort of ambition people thought they would with Arabs coming in.

I would change Delap for a more experienced striker, if we are molding a new front line then experience is key in one of the positions upfront , Delap won't see the ball as much as he does for Ipswich, someone who is great off the ball is needed,it has to be Osimhen

I like Mbeumo, he's very direct, fit, can score and assist.

Cunha I'm less sure about. He's a red card waiting to happen, even after the final whistle or if he's on the bench. Didn't he also say that he doesn't care about strategy and tactics and prefers shooting from the hip?

Would be a pleasant surprise if we got him. Was sure hed end up elsewhere.

We’ll be playing 1 game a week. If the players can’t cope with that then there’s serious issues. I get they might be injuries etc but that’s where the young academy plays a part.

Nine goals the season before, but three were penalties. The reaction to spending £50 million on him would have been very different last summer. Either way, I can’t see us signing a whole new front three so this discussion is probably pointless.

Sesko is technically very raw still. I’m surprised at the amount of people advocating big money on him and turning their nose up at Delap. An ideal solution in my mind would be Delap and a cheap-ish experienced striker, but I can’t see who that player is.
Sesko is definitely not technically raw. It’s his clinical finishing that is raw.

A full season of Amorim would have taken us to the Championship, Einstein. Amorim should be shipped back to Braga or wherever the feck he came from.
We’ll find out next year then won’t we what a full season of Amorim can be like. And I’ll come back to this conversation once we get top 5. And I’ll demand an apology.

Cunha, Mbuemo and a new striker would be huge if we could pull it off

We'd probably see the three players (Amad, Mbeumo and Dalot) fighting for the two spots depending on the opposition and who was in form, which is about the strength in depth we should be looking for. I know Dalot was poor for most of the season, but after he was moved back to the right fulltime he did start turning it around and looking quite good for the last couple of months. Unfortunately he then got injured which is about how our entire season went...

We'd have other options as well (Bruno, Zirkzee or Mount at #10, Mazraoui and Dorgu at RWB), but I expect they'd be the main three.

Seems far fetched this one. Nothing reliable reporting it.

I’d be glad to come back to this conversation and have a reason to apologize, really.

What happens if he gets sacked by November and we get stuck with another set of mediocre players and negative goal difference?

Give it a bloody rest or at least take the Amorim whinging to the appropriate thread.

I would be on board with this. Looks like we’ve at least learned from errors of the past especially under Ten Hag. Fast, strong and agile attackers is what we need.

Mbeumo is very fast and direct and Cunha is one of the best ball carriers in the league.

Our set pieces should also be grand if we can get this done but never rule out the OT curse.

Yeah, the United lads are renowned for their fitness and injury record.

A squad made up of 11 senior players plus a few academy lads is a fantasy! so we’ll have to disagree on this one DJ

Too good to be true. Everytime I have seen him play he looks close to elite level in most attributes. Perhaps I have watched only his good games.
He is no Kaka for sure but if Mbuemo isn`t considered elite level, we can just call it a day and go home. I don`t know if there is any manager in the prem that would say no to having him in the squad.
