Yes, but he also said we are after Delap.... So...Has he said this?
Most of these “reports” are stupid. Fact is they’re purely click bait. Some of them are so bad it defies explanation. This isn't on, and that daft tweet reeling people in seems a bit silly.
Not reallyIsn't he notorious for having attitude problems?
He'd tell you to feck off.I would give him an incentivised contract dependant on the amount of goals and assists he make.
Wouldn't say nothing tweet when it's from local Napoli source, however will say there has been no corroboration of that meeting from reliable journoWish this thread was better maintained. Some guy bumps it with a nothing tweet to make himself feel better and we're back to entertaining nonsense.
He's worth paying those wages, however thought the figure offered by Saudi was over £300kHis wage demands have to still be massive. It’s why Chelsea didn’t get the deal done with him last summer and must be why, despite him looking like the perfect Chelsea #9 and John Obi Mikel repeatedly saying he’s had conversations with him saying he’d love to play for Chelsea, we didn’t go for him again when he’s clearly still available.
The Boehly ownership group just do not offer or pay the huge wages right out of the gate like the club did under Roman. They got burned badly giving Sterling and a couple of others monster wages and ever since have offered a max of around £120k I think.
Osimhen had apparently been demanding £250-280k per week and we refused.
I think suits specific football styles, and if he's not a good fit then it just won't work well.I genuinely don't see Osimhen as the "dead cert" many make him out to be.
Would need to sign someone with decent deliveryI think suits specific football styles, and if he's not a good fit then it just won't work well.
I agree he’s worth that. But sadly our new owners disagree. Maybe if he was 21 or 22. But for them even Osimhen at 26/27 is too old because if he flopped he’d be hugely difficult to shift on just like Lukaku. He's worth paying those wages, however thought the figure offered by Saudi was over £300k

What we do now under this new regime is incentive based wage raises. Much more modest starting wages compared to the Roman era but with the ability to earn more and more depending on what is achieved.Fair enough that the length of the contract provides safety in terms of potential injuries, which obviously gives a decent incentive, but locking themselves down on a 8 year contract on wages they'd be close to doubling at other top clubs and potentially increasing further depending on contract extensions, doesn't seem all that likely. Sure, maybe some players will jump on it depending on age and wanting that safety, but i'd be surprised if Caicedo isn't on atleast 30-40k more per week, which would offset substantially higher wages on a 5 year contract.

So they aren’t locked to the same wages in year 5/6/7 of their contracts as they were in year 1 if they hit certain milestones.
Caicedo specifically is about to be rewarded with a new contract it has been reported in recent days. So at least for him he’s about to get a massive raise I would assume.Year 5/6/7 is a bit of a stretch to be extending wages, over 50% of the total contract completed already. Caicedo was 21 when he joined you on an 8 year contract with the club having the option to extend it with one year. His window to sign a lucrative contract with a club with a different wage policy is more or less closed at that point. I'd get it if there was fixed increases depending on performances, reaching certain targets, matches played, as it generally ensures they will earn significantly more to the point where it makes no sense to sign on for a shorter period.
He’s scored everywhere he’s played. If he won’t make it here and after 2 seasons he’s 28 or 29, there’ll be plenty of suitorsI agree he’s worth that. But sadly our new owners disagree. Is he? He struggled to find somewhere in january.
I think his wages are a big barrier.I think so, though I suspect maybe his wages or some sort of agreement with Saudi is meaning clubs are looking elsewhere. Let’s see what happens, but I’d be surprised if Napoli are doing a deal like that.
Need to shift some of the big earners, surprised if he's not Al Hilal bound that they wouldn't want him for Club World Cup. So at least this saga won't drag out unless he decides to turn down then down again of course.I think his wages are a big barrier.
Story today was they have got the go ahead on personal terms so it is just about agreeing the fee with Napoli. Galatasary finish their season tomorrow and the window opens Saturday so I expect we will see some pretty rapid movement at that point.Need to shift some of the big earners, surprised if he's not Al Hilal bound that they wouldn't want him for Club World Cup. Was this coming from that Il Napolista source too, you would have to think if there was anything in this then someone more reliable would have corroborated storyStory today was they have got the go ahead on personal terms so it is just about agreeing the fee with Napoli. It was ESPN. It tracks with what Ornatein and others have been saying all along though. Osimhen wants this move and unless something goes wrong in the club to club negotiations it is where he will end up. The personal terms are miles beyond anything he would make in Europe. Nothing was ever going to happen until the Turkish season ended and they are meant to want to get this done for the Club World Cup so the next few days should give us our answer one way or another. Was this coming from that Il Napolista source too, you would have to think if there was anything in this then someone more reliable would have corroborated story
Ah just realised you meant Al Hilal had agreed personal terms with him. I wish we could have sold him the project of being the main man here, unfortunately think he's too far down the line with them. Presume when Ornstein reported he wasn't on our list that was due to wage demands and Delap being top target. My gut feeling is he will confirm over weekend he's going to Saudi which is shame because still capable of playing in Europe. It was ESPN. Cunha-Mbeumo
Anyone?
Or let's stick with hojlund
Yeah they would be more interested in Garnacho, however like I said in above post I think it's too late and his mind is already made up to join Al HilalThat’s a winning combo. Need to find a way to use Garnacho plus cash as bait for Osimhen
