Victor Osimhen | Rejects Al-Hilal

Osimhen is a difficult one to know what is really going on. Napoli wanted him to sign a new contract to increase his release clause to 130m Euros, so gave him huge wages assuming a big European club would come in for him. They then had some fallings out as he was treated pretty badly in the media by his own club. The transfer market also changed and European clubs no longer wanted to spend big money and become more efficient, so it was only Saudi who could afford these big sums. In my opinion that's why the links to Saudi were so strong last summer, as Napoli were caught holding the bag and wanted to sell him to the highest bidder. After the Chelsea deal fell through, he ended up at Galatasaray which no one saw coming and has performed very well. I think he will try to hold out for a Premier League or top European club this summer rather than go to Saudi, but that's just my hunch.

Would love him at United!
Will think that might be the case if there hasn't been significant movement by middle of the week

…….Osimhen
Cunha……..Mbuemo

With a solid midfield two behind, that would be a great attack and best in the league arguably
What if you swapped Osimhen for Gyokeres as feels to me he's the more realistic possibility of the two

His all round game is not good enough, yes he scores goals but another striker with a dodgy touch after Lukaku and Hojlund is not the way.

Don’t think we’re signing Mbuemo and Osimhen together unless we sold Bruno and Garnacho.

I wish Hojlund's only problem was a dodgy touch.

This is what I had to say about Osimhen earlier this year:

I watched Galatasaray and Osimhen play couple of days ago, he's a complete CF imo. Could've had 3-4 assists and 2 goals, not even exaggerating and he wasn't even trying 100% it seemed. That's a CF we should get, so good at holding up the ball and bringing teammates in on the attack and also always lurking to score(had 2 goals called off for offside).

I still think he's the CF we should get, if we can. Yes, some people might say "oh but it's the Turkish league", but if it's one thing CBs especially are there, it's strong, physical and aggressive. Yet multiple times I've seen him bring the ball down without much problem and holding it up for his teammates.

I believe he’s really good in the air alongside his obvious ability to finish and we put a lot of crosses in he’d be a top player for us

Close to my dream

Osimhen
Bruno - Cunha

And two dynamic and technical midfielders behind then we would definitely be able able to fight for top 3…. This would also be one of the most dangerous attacks in the league

We should do everything to get this guy.
Wish we would, however all the reliable sources have constantly poured water which is disappointing. Makes me think club has been told he's going to Saudi club.

How many of those that want him have actually watched him play a few manned, rather than clips of a goal?

He’s like lukaku but better in the air. His control is iffy. He runs and powers through people rather than any great technical ability. I really don’t think people would be overly happy with him in the long term.
Damning with faint praise. When I watch Haaland play, he seems to have a lumbering style and a clumsy touch, but he can score with his eyes closed. Is Osimhen’s technique deficiencies of this sort?

As much of a lazy donkey as Lukaku was, he’d have bagged a hatful of goals if we’d kept him instead of going insane and buying Højlund.

I don't see why he would want to come to us when he's killing it at the moment. He seems like the typical type of player who would get brilliant stats in the leagues he currently plays in, so just don't see the sense in him risking it to come here when it's already working for him. I don't think we could offer him enough money to tempt him.

Totally agreed. Very overrated player.

So he sounds like Haaland
Yes Ive watched him a bit at Napoli. Hes a good player but sure not an Isak technical type.

This is the striker we should get.
His personality will lift us and the players around him.
He has that Cantona kind of confidence and that’s actually what we need right now.
We need players with big personalities.

Didn't we already get a Cantona in Cunha?

Too many Cantonas spoil a broth.

He’s killing it in… Turkey!

He only went there as their transfer window was open longer. Fair play to him putting in the effort, rather than sulk (like many players do).

However, I doubt they have the money to keep him (I assume they paid very little for him due to lack of options), and would hope he wants to play in a better league.

No you cant have too many strong personalities in a team.
Remember when we had strong personalities likes Hughes, Ince, Keane, Bruce and Cantona.
We need more strong personalities in this team, players that wont hide after they miss a chance.
I think with him as striker we will be challenging for top 4 next season.

If there’s any chance of us getting Osimhen or Gyokeres then we have to try are hardest to sign him. Easily the two best options available, only once it’s been made clear neither are attainable should we start looking at lesser options.
