360 finally died - anyway to get it replaced by shops?

I've had the whole week off and have been looking forward to finally giving Fallout 3 a go.

So I receive the game, salivating as I unwrap its contents, then as soon as I insert the disk - low and behold the three red lights of death. Just feck off Microsoft you useless cnuts.

So anyway I dont want to go through the hassle of sending it off and waiting feck knows how long to get it back, is there anyway of simply going into a store, buying warranty and replacing it there and then? I would rather play Fallout 3 asap :(
 
tried the towel trick?
 
Tell them it started emitting strange beams of purple light and it caused your dogs head to explode. They won't ask questions, trust me.
 
Unlucky mate. Towel trick worked for me the two times it has happened.
 
Towel trick will only damge your box more, Send it to ms it should only be under two weeks, then buy a new xbox from game, and send it back when you recieve the other from ms
 
I bought mine in Thailand, and it's modded. I heard they won't replace modded ones?

i got mine back in 13 days when i sent it off a few weeks back, it's no hassle at all

Heres an update: This is weird - my 360 is working again and I played fallout 3 for a good 2 hours, however it froze again, this time no red lights. So I restarted it and played abit of Fifa, works fine but then soon enough it again froze.....but again no red lights. Damn console is confusing me.
 
Looks to me like playing games on it makes it freeze. Have you tried not playing games on it?
 
It might just be overheating problems causing it to freeze after its been on a while. Try what Uber said, it will get less hot whilst it isn't playing games.

Thats what always happens when you get the red lights, atleast the same happend to me. You'll find it will do this for a few days then it will completely die.

So for you it constantly froze with no red lights, then eventually you got the red lights you're saying?

But feck it, Im not waiting for it to die on me so I just deliberately got the 3 red lights by constantly switching it on and off, at least Im still under the 3-year red light warranty...no way am I paying for any extended warranty.

So im just going to have to send it in tomorrow, ELITE my arse....I mean what the feck is the elite meant to be? Its just Mr Gates shitting on the original xbox 360 and increasing its harddrive....so much for reliability. Well tommorow im going to send it off to those cnuts with a nice dump I've taken alongside it in the packaging. FFS at least make a console that works...

MS repair it for free even if you are out of warrinty if it's the red lights
 
Yep, know that....they darn right ought to as well.

Quick question: Did you sort out repairs on phone or online?
 
Online. Log into your Xbox live account and go to support. You can print out a UPS return label, box it up then ask UPS to pick it up. 2 weeks later, fixed (or new) xbox. No worries

I'm not a fanboy!

I just happen to prefer the PS3 and what it offers. If there weren't so many stories like this one, I would happily pick up another, but until the issues are sorted, I won't.

I'll let you touch my PS3 if you want;)

There two in the flat its ok... I only touch em to play me mates at fifa...

My360 on the other hand.. that gets a good playing, when I have the time..
