Shogun's cardio since he left Pride has been awful. I think his repeated knee injuries have something to do with that, but it's a huge glaring hole in his game.

He needs to sort it out now. He hasn't got much time if he is due to face Chuck in 3 months. It's lucky he is fighting Chuck and not somebody like Machida or Rampage who could go for the full three rounds. Unfortunately, Chuck seems like he is declining.

I was really disappointed with Shogun. He will be battered by any of the top fighters if turns up with cardio like that.

Right ufc 94... predictions

well its a great line up and the fights all look pretty even...

GSP vs Penn -cant quite see penn winning at 185
Machida vs silva -both 130-could go either way but my gut says machida
Jones vs bonnar -dont know much about jones but to have a ufc contract at 21 he must be good so ill go with him
Parisyan vs Kim- ive not been impressed with kim in the fights ive seen
Guida vs Diaz -i like guida... hes always good to watch
Fitch vs Gono -after going 5 rounds with gsp fitch must be favourite for this

Good thing for BJ that it's at 170!! :p BTW, I think your picks are right on. Agree with all of them.

oops... still anything above lightweight io cant see him taking gsp...

infact as gsp's wrestling has inproved so much i can see him rag-dolling penn...

he has not lost at lightweight since 2002 (on a split decision)... but has lost his last 2 ww fights...

lets see if somebody can actually give fedor a fight (though he lost recently at sambo i think?)

btw bob... did you ask for a namechange... never a good idea...

Yeah he's got to be looking at UFC at some point in his career, even if its just a 2 fight deal.

Couture is injured & wont be fighting in Germany - funny that, considering they have just sold out - beginning to think these oversea's fight cards are purposely a disappointment.

Yeah asked for a change, another Anderson has been promoted, I'm reading some posts & thinking why the feck did I type that, only to realise it wasn't me.

also i do thing they may start putting on the lighter weight categories as well... and personally id like to see women in the ufc

Just had a quick look on Ticketmaster & they still have tickets available @ £45, £75 & £100 - plus they were advertising them on Setanta at weekend, so I guess the anser is no, they havnt sold out.

I dont think I could stomach watching woman stand up trading punches with each other, probably me being narrow minded, just dont like the idea of it.

ive sparred with rossi sexton once... shes an awsome fighter...

my mrs is pretty useful as well in fairness... she could trade with most blokes and shes lightning quick on the ground

And in his last fight at WW, he was stopped by Hughes easily. Pounded out to be exact.

Can there be any doubt now as to who is the best p4p fighter in the world?
Wow is all I have to say. Some really good fights on the card last night. Andrei got too cocky and paid for it BIG TIME. On a side note, what the feck is up with those morons commentating on affliction. Tito, please just shut the feck up. You're a horrible commentator, quit while you're behind, don't dig yourself a deeper hole. The other two commentators and the two ringside or lockerroom commentators didn't fair any better tbh. Joe Rogan >>> Affliction commentators.

Lucky punch.

But a good one, to be fair.

I thought it at first, but if you watch it over and over its a perfectly timed punch. Catches him just as he is coming in.

Fedor now needs to fight Barnett, beat him and can just retire as the GOAT. (Greatest of all time).

Anything think that AA's hands looked really sharp in this fight?

tbh fedor would eat him imo. Reckon first or second round KO/submission for fedor.

At this stage of their careers anyway. Brock is so inexperienced though. His learning curve has been insanely steep and he'll most likely continue to improve at a far quicker rate than any other heavyweight. If he was to have another 2 or 3 fights and iron out some of the flaws in his submission game he'd have a better chance against Fedor than anyone.

if you follow Fedor, you wouldn't have said that. Fedor is not a "lucky" person. He just dominates his opponents.

It was AA that was doing all the dominating in that fight, right up until he got KTFO.

The reason I say it was a lucky punch is that the only reason it caught Arlovski right on his chin was because he jumped up in the air, after the punch was on it's way. If Arlovski had kept his chin tucked and/or ducked, chances he could have rolled with the punch or slipped it altogether. You'd never see a boxer jump up on the way in like that, it's a risky move and leaves you open to being sucker-punched, which is what happened.

Andre wasn't dominating anything. It might take a quick eye but Andre landed feck and all. Even the combination that he threw that LOOKED like they gave Fedor problems, he parried perfectly. It was simply the speed of the punch/parry that made it look like he caught Fedor.

Andre threw two left jab straight right combo's that everyone alludes to as dominating. Fedor pulled the jab down with his right hand both times, and caught the right on his chest or shoulder both times.

The front push kick that Andre threw that setup the knock out certainly didn't hurt Fedor, it simply pushed him into the ropes. He came off the ropes looking to counter from the first second. He actually knocked Andre the feck out before he even left the ground. It was on the button, pin point accurate.

He even had the presence of mind to duck into the knee and block it with his left arm before he threw the followup left hook.

The entire fight Fedor was being passive trying to time Andre and get a feel for his rhythm. You can see it quite clearly as he is trying to shoot left or right hooks over Andre's two punch combo's.

The most damage Andre did do, were the few front leg kicks he landed that were not thrown with very much malice.

He planned to knock Andre out. He planned to not go to the ground and he planned to catch him with a counter shot because Andre has a propensity to get reckless and let his guard down.

If you are trying to do these things and you do it, I wouldn't call it luck.

gsp vs bj penn on sunday...

its a pretty stacked card... anybody else getting all excited about this?

oh and btw there is programme on setanta next sunday talking about bj penn vs gsp and previewing the ufc in london and i believe dan (hardy) will be on it... be interesting to see what he makes of gsp

as for the fedor punch... an overhand right with a shortened ark... a very deliberate punch imo...

for those who say its a lucky punch remember what gary player once said
"he harder I work, the luckier I get"

He's a moron for trying to trying a jumping knee to the face. I was rooting for him in this fight and I wanted him to win this. As a side, Hwang Man Choiw was dominating Fedor right off the hop until the armbar that finished him off.

Yeah, very suprised by it. Looked very sharp and was moving really well. Got to cocky imo.

I think GSP will dominate BJ. He's just too good.

yeah... renzo gracie said

"as many times as gsp fights bj penn is how many times gsp will win"

dont get me wrong bj penn is a great fighter and has not lost a lightweight since 2002... but he has lost his last 2 fights at welterweight and since then gsp'a wrestling has come on so much...

i can see gsp throwing bj round like a rag doll
