Decent performance today, brilliantly taken goal (with his left this time). Seems to thrive in scruffy, physical games.
Nice to see, something different to Berba/Rooney.. we need a physical player to complement the players we already have at our disposal.

That's all very good, but I think I speak for all of us when I ask; what the feck is up with that long fingernail of his?

I am excite.

Is he going to go straight into first team duty a la Obertan? Or is it going to be the Tosic/Manucho route of playing in the reserves for a while?
I hope not because we know where that lead

Will probably lead to the same thing for Tosic for that matter

It's the way Ole is over there and making sure he gets over here, that and the fact we made a bid earleir than expected makes me think we may be fast tracking him. Ole said before the final tarted that this will be his last game for Molde, he will have a short holiday then he's coming to his new home

Don't agree with that. MBD got man of the match, and rightly so. He was a bit average up until his first goal, after that he was very lively.

Malaysia.
But he only scored two! At the very least he should get a hattrick in each game. Disappointed in him.

To be fair, he was marked by an entire Nation.

The lad's got some spring, he's very good in the air.

His celebration was Nani-class, only higher.

I haven't come across any vids, no.

According to OGS Mame will get a couple of weeks off now, and after that he's looking forward to working with him. He also said that "the boy has a tremendous ('vanvittig') potential. He will develop well when he joins the other boys." Let's hope he's right.

Good thing you're translating tremendous into Norwegian.

:)

Diouf has some great attributes like pace and heading, but he's very very raw.

I think he's got more than that. Physically he's fantastic, great stamina and work rate, an insane leap, decent strength, and blistering pace, including the Andy Cole-ish sudden burst beyond his marker. I have also been impressed with his general play, his vision and passing, and technique and close control. And he's got a very long finger nail. In other words, he's got the lot but he's inconsistent, at times let down by his decision making, nerves (I think), and often just plain poor execution.

And how the hell do you translate 'vanvittig'?

I'd probably go with outrageous.

Oh and why aren't the papers making a bigger deal out of the mind-boggling referee? He gave Ålesund four or five flabbergasting game-deciding calls yesterday. I feel for Mame, he wanted to give the Molde fans a farewell gift.

If they'd have played him in natural position for the latter part of the season, i'm fairly sure they would have got something else from him.

I wanted to find some stats of Molde with Mame centrally vs out wide, but I've no idea how to do that in an easy way. So instead I had a look at the results when Mota started, because he usually (or always, I don't know) plays in the middle. They were sort of revealing.

Results
With Mota: 4 - 3 - 4
Without: 13 - 2 - 4

Points per game
With Mota: 1.36
Without: 2.16

We may read different things into this.
a) Mame should play centrally
b) Mota is really, really shit

Surely a song needs to be made in preparation for Diouf's arrival. Ideas anyone?

Seriously I haven't really heard of this lad before but Ole seems to rate him very much and if a fantastic striker like Ole says you're good then who are we to argue?

M Diouf, M Diouf, running down the wing
M Diouf, M Diouf, running down the wing
Crap on the left, crap on the right,
M Diouf, that's enough, take him off (or rather move him into the middle, but I couldn't fit that in)
