Also Nani shouldnt have to justify his price tag, it something that comes with football. All he can do is go out and focus on getting better as a player and the rest will take care of itself.

Hes made some great strides this season, lets see if he can set the bar higher because we all know the skys the limit for the lad.

Given the climate of relative price tags that surround Nani - Kaka 56m, Glen Johnson 18m, Berbatov 30m, Ronaldo 80m - damn right Nani has justified his tag!!! Have any of the others I mentioned? No.

I think if Nani has an injury free World Cup he'll do even better next season.

I've always thought of him as a player whos desire to succeed at Manchester United has weighed heavy upon his shoulders at times, but whos heart has always been in the right place regarding our great club. When he got to the point of knowing that patience was running out he stepped up, big time, and those are the players you want in your squad. Nani is not a bottler, at all.

It's a direct polar opposite to how Berbatov has reacted to the pressure of potential failure. But, perhaps if Berbatov gets that extra season (just as Nani did) he'll come good too, i'm not too confident of that, but maybe.

thought he came on and we were instantly more dangerous down the left. had a couple great crosses, the one that giggs seemed hesistant to go all in and the one berba sent inches wide.

couple of loose shots but great feet and looked to worry the citeh fullbacks. Keep on in this good form nani.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
If we hadn't won there would've been massive (pun intended) questions asked on here about why Fergie didn't start him.

We've got three games to go. Stop worrying about resting players and tactics, just play Nani and Valencia on either side and give ourselves the best possibility of scoring goals. It's not like either of them leave their fullbacks exposed and we need to go for a safer option.

An another absolute brilliant game by Nani. Absolute genius goal, he worked very hard for the team, great spirit, good going forward. If he keeps playing like that, he's a proper, brilliant United player.
And to score that kind of goal in such an important time shows his incredible talent

Give the OP a knighthood, Nani quite literally did just that today.

So pleased for Nani and the progress he's made, undroppable now surely?

I like the fact he is performing when things are not going our way. That's the sort of character trait that defines us, and a difficult one to scout for. Whenever people are ***ping over a player you just wonder, do they have what it takes to be a Manchester United star? You can only tell once they are here (we never buy from clubs with similar levels of pressure/expectation).

Nani has been showing that he's got it and that will only help everyone's confidence in him, even his own.

It's always nice when you go against the grain to put your faith in someone, and they repay you big time.

I couldn't be happier to see the way Nani is performing now and the influence he is having in our team. They say that pressure creates diamonds and that's what he is developing into now. His talent is immense.

Getting stronger and stronger. His vision and passing has gone up a notch imo and he's now confident at beating his man. He's always been cool under pressure and scored a vital goal for us today.

I love the git and in no way should we buying a player to replace him.

I remember the commentator saying Nani had not scored a goal in the Premier League since August..
And Booom -- he scores a Nistelrooysque goal...

Our second matchwinner behind Rooney in the second half of the season. Quite simply this is why we need him on the pitch. Regardless of whether you prefer Nani or Valencia on the right wing, we need Nani on the pitch somewhere because he creates and scores at times when Rooney isnt able to do it all for us. And Rooney simply cant do it every week, so step forward Nani.

I said fairly early on in the season that finding a place for Nani in the team is the only way we'll win the title. We have a pretty decent chance right now and we wouldnt be there without his contribution coming in from the cold at christmas.

I did my part a long, long time ago. Like stroking a chance away when faced with the keeper. Creating this thread showed a bit more courage, like Nani's classy finish today.

In all seriousness though it doesn't matter. I backed Nani for a reason and he's come good on it. That's all that matters, so thats what I'll enjoy. I don't make threads, I make posts.

Oh yeah! When everyone was on his back and it looked like he was out. Much like Dimitar now. Hope SAF gets this one right too

I think he's the only player in the squad that would've done that in that position, at that time and at that scoreline.
