Have been watching some of the build up to the match on the MUTV App. They are stating that Ajax are a team that likes to press. If this is the case, I'd like to see Carrick start over Fellaini to keep some composure when they are pressing, however don't think that will be the case.

I'm nervous, as this is a very big match for us. Haven't felt like this prior to a match in some time. Great to have these type of situations again, although wish it were bigger things at stake.

    Come on United!
This is actually the main reason Fellaini will start. He's the surest outlet from the goalie, his chest is a ball magnet when we are pressed.

In games like this, Jose generally lets the goalkeeper do the goalkicks. A long ball to Fellaini's chest on the touchline.

An entire season resting on one game only. I'm part of the players and my nerves are already fecked. We need a big game from Valencia, Blind, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Rashford. If those six perform to expectations, we will win it easily.

Swedish authorities are stepping up their security, saying no one without a ticket with a matching ID will get to enter the match. Obviously this is standard, but they say it like they mean it. Maybe we'll see quite a few empty seats tonight.

Hopefully, Smalling won't start this game. We need a calm head at back who can deal with pressure well. Joned-Blind should be our CB pairing.

Just woken up this morning to a work email telling me that because of the bombing, my rest day has been cancelled. So no watching the game for me.

And my first emotion has been something like "AH WELL, THERE'S WORK TO DO, FOOTBALL CAN WAIT"

Football is meant to be enjoyable. I'm going to be a bag of nerves tonight. Can't underestimate the importance of the game. Win and no one gives a toss about our league season. 2 trophies and a return to the Champions League is a great season.

Jose has generally pressed teams that like to press this season so I'd expect him to do the same tonight. I reckon it will be a tense, dour, low scoring game, gonna be nervy as feck and I'm really not looking forward to it.

I've gone for 433, Fellaini over Carrick, with lingard mkhi and rashford up top.

Game starts 2.45am West Australia time, already bricking it with nerves, so I don't think I will be sleeping.

We need to win the griezmann cup

    Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Darmian
    Herrera - Carrick - Pogba
    Mkhi - Rashford - Lingard
I'm going for a 3-1 win. Absolutely bricking it though.

I'm not confident against a pressing team with Smelling or Jones at the back.

Gonna be a long ass day at work. Can't wait!

Fecking hell I'm bricking it. Just please get a couple of early goals, Fellaini header from a corner and a Mkhitaryan tap-in with a Rashford assist. Just get them on target.

I wanted Ajax in 1/4 and semi-finals as I believe they were the one team we could certainly beat. We've gone through and avoided tougher teams.

The most important game for years and I'm absolutly buzzing for this. Don't play Fellaini and we should beat these. It'll be tough but we can do this.

I'm already at work and I can't function properly. I'm bricking it.
I hope the players don't get caught up in the emotion.
Two early goals please. My heart can't take it.

Woke up at 5.30AM, immediately thought about the game and the butterflies started in my stomach, it lasted a few seconds then my thoughts turned to the tragic events on Monday night and I almost felt guilty for feeling nervous about a football match under the circumstances.

Feyenoord won the title this year, we played them twice this season and did pretty well against them (apart from the away leg was a bit poor in places)

We definitely have the better quality player for player, we just have to make sure we turn up and all give 8/10 performances.

As an Ajax fan I wish you all the best of luck with the nerves for this match, although it's abvious that cup will come to Amsterdam, securing Ajax is the first club ever to win all 5 European cup tournaments (EC I, EC II, Cup-winners-cup, CL and EL).

Nah, on a more serious note, I think you'll win this.
It's a big big game for you with a lot of pressure and for us, well, it was simply a big surprise we reached the final. That should give us an advantage, but I doubt that will be a big enough advantage to overcome your qualities. Bar the finishing, our home-games were outstanding, but, as some of you've already rightfully mentioned, our away-games were not so much. Our players seem to be unable to give as much in away games as they can at home.

It's the second part of your post that worries me, as in will United turn up and put in a performance or another nervy, insipid display like Vigo at OT. I seriously hope not.

Yeah, we truly are a Jekyll and Hyde team.

I think that nervousness came more from holding the lead though. In a 1 off match I think we will be better off, the silly away goals rule won't make us overly cautious.

The players definitely have a big performance in them, we saw that at home against Chelsea, it's just making sure Jose get's it out of them.

I have no doubts though Jose will make the team realise how important this game is, winning is the only option.
