Also that's never a pen, shaw on Wilshere. It's normal contact inside the box between them and wilshere just goes down as he was out muscled, wasn't a shove or push over.

    Redknapp is driving me mad.

Saying we need to stick to one system, 3 at the back isn't working. He's use to seeing united scoring on the counter attack and we aren't seeing that at the moment.

Good to see he's erased the arsenal game from his memory already.

We were very poor whatever way you look at it, but we can move on. I don't think there are many positives to take from that other than we have a better position, in the top 4, going into next week
Actually, I think there are three Positives:
    We have demonstrated we are a resilient TEAM. Again;
We have won away from home for the first team this Season; and
We have beaten a direct rival and top four team.

We rode our luck but it is time it turned our way; we have been very unlucky with injuries.

And those issues have been addressed many times over. I'm responding by pointing out other issues that have been discussed for less on here for obvious reasons. Why don't you learn to read?
Go and cry in your soup Eboue! That is the best you have played against a poor United team and we still won on your patch.

It's not by much but he is offside. I don't want to seem like I think we deserved to win. We surely didn't. But Dean had a bad game too.
I'm not saying he had a great game and I know what you mean, but it's basically a 50/50 call that. If he's offside, then it's basically because of his hair, you don't ever see that called though. Isn't there some sort of advantage that's supposed to be applied anyways? Either way, it's marginal and you can't blame that on Dean as he relies on his assistant there.
But yeah, ref wasn't great and missed a few things/let others go, didn't give cards when he needed to and things like that. Don't think overall that he had a big impact on the game or that there was anything too controversial though.

    This win give some facts
    1. 3 at the back is work, if only our opponent playing an attacking football. It also means we need to sit tight before attempting a counter.
    2. 4 wins = 4 times McNair as a starter.

Yeah I just disagree with the point about being a resilient team. De Gea is part of our team so when he plays well it is still the team playing well, in a way, but if we remove goalkeeping heroics we looked very fragile and on merit should have lost the game in the first 30 mins.

We got huge luck going 1-0 up without a shot on target and then we could sit back and let arsenal overcommit, it looked easy, but without that slice of luck or without magic from De Gea nobody would have been happy with this afternoon. First 30 mins was worst united performance I've seen in a very long time

As for Fellaini, even if I accept your silly justifications for the foul, he was still clearly offside.
Not sure what the video was supposed to prove. Wilshire was the first to use his left arm to try and force Shaw off balance. Shaw touched him, so what. Wilshire lost balance by his own movement and sort to con the ref. No foul, no penalty. As for Fellani, very debatable whether he was offside. Still don't see how he pushed Gibbs.

You cant sit back against every team in the Premier League and expect to win by scoring on the counter though, you will get punished in the end being under so much pressure. Its completely different to a world cup tournament.
Have we been sitting back against every team so far? It's not like this is our first game of the season now is it? Given the injuries we had going into the game it's unfair to demand a performance, we needed to survive this game but we went one further and brought home all the points, that is the most important bit.

They were also taught a lesson on how to conduct counter attacking football just like many times before against them.

But that's what I mean by resilient: we played very poor but stuck to the task and won in the end. If you domonate and play well, then there is no need for resilience. In fact, I think we will only do well this season if we have a resilient team. We do not have the team yet to just waltz past opponents.

Yeah but nobody would have been talking about resilience if we were 3 nil down in 20 minutes, and most times /10 thats what would have happened today. We rolled the dice and got double 6s today and are attributing to x, y and z.

Still Arsenal are good in Emirates, we played a style that we designed to make it so the luckiest team won, and we got the luck. Maybe if we have a full squad in furute LVG will try less negative tactics, hopefully we will see that

Working night shift so missed the game sadly. Great, great result - that top 4 spot looks sweet. Worried about the LB-slot if both Shaw and Blind are side lined long term. Could we loan Coentrao in jan perhaps?

Young was pretty solid as a wing back today IMO.No chance of us getting someone like Coentrao as a loan I think.

I hate when people speak about football matches in hypotheticals. 3-0 did not happen. You can only react and be given credit for what happens in a match. How can you be so sure that if Arsenal had scored one goal they would have continued attacking and scored two more? How can you be so sure we would not have reacted differently had they scored the first goal? There is no way to tell that they could have scored three. Having three scoring chances in a roll does not, in my view, mean that they could have had a 3-0 lead. Nobody knows how they and we would have reacted to their first goal.

We don't need to defend v Man Utd we run through you like a rough curry.
    Hi pete!

Let's just have a look at that back 4 again.

    Valencia, Smalling, McNair and Blackett

    Wow.

The hilarious thing is that you have only the normal amount of injuries at the back. We have Rafael, Jones, Evans, Rojo, Blind and now Shaw out. If you had the equivalent injuries you'd probably have Welbeck at centre back. And we still beat your absolute shower.

    Smoochies,

I can't be sure, but luck exists in football. I praise the performance if it deserves praising, not the result. If we play like that often, we won't be winning any silverwear, even though we did win today

Great game. Sure we could have lost by a big margin. We could have won by a big margin. I think some forget we've gone through some big changes over the last season and a bit. We're picking up injuries like Chelsea are picking up points this season. It used to be that we had one defender missing and you'd be nervous. I don't think a lot of people have thought through the changes we've gone through because of the players who left in the summer and because of the injuries. We're clearly not in peak condition but I think LVG got lucky today. Can't say we weren't overdue.

Great to see that our scheme with our spy Welbz is working out, let him destroy them from the inside. They never knew what hit them.

The way I see this, Fellaini´s right foot is over the line? Not sure how that that is 'just onside'? But I'm no expert at these things, obviously that's why I'm asking
The angle is a bit deceptive but yes he's offside.

Is it true we didn't have a shot on target until the 85th minute? I don't believe that.

No dodgy decisions? Fellaini was offside and fouled Gibbs on the first goal. Shaw fouled Wilshere in the box.

I'm not blaming Dean entirely because we were shit and deserved to lose but come on.
And Jack should have been sent off.
