Like to see Van Gaal's 4-2-3-1 like he did at Bayern and AZ. It was a success formula for him so why not at United.

We need to go for the win and a win we'll get. I haven't worried about Arsenal in years, today has worried some overreaction people but that's about it, if we get a few key players like a CB, Herrera and Rafael back we'll spank them like we usually do not to mention Falcao must be itching to bang in another goal.

Poor wingers simple as. Di Maria was never a great winger even Madrid fans could tell you that, very inconsistent and Januaj has just been wank.

Arsenal are the favorites to win this and when was the last time they went into the game as ones against us?! I think they will win this too, they are much better than us at the moment.

I think we can beat them. RVP needs to be dropped and Januzaj too. I am looking forward to this game and i hope this will start a good run of results. We need to win this to buid the momentum. If we will win this we have two home games against Hull and Stoke after and we can win both.

I want to see this lineup.

    -----------De Gea
    Rafael*-Mcnair-Jones*-Shaw
    --------Carrick-Blind
    Mata---Rooney---Di Maria
    ----------- Falcao*

*-if they are fit. Maybe Herrera for Mata or Carrick because he brings this needed extra energy.

Why do you guys want to drop Fellaini ? He is literally perfect for this game to bully Arsenal
Fellaini has been playing well but Herrera can offer so much more I feel. When Fellaini plays, our whole playing style changes. He doesn't make late runs into the box. He goes up even before the ball is played out from the back. This way our build-up play gets affected. Somehow would like to fit in both of them, but there is just no space for it. Our injury crisis in a way has allowed all our players to get equal game time.

They're currently the better side, and our away form is catastrophic. Draw would be a good result, especially since Welbeck is guaranteed to score.

It depends on who is fit. Rafael, Jones, McNair, Falcao are doubts.

    De Gea
    Rafael --- Jones -- Smalling --- Shaw
    Herrera -- Blind
Di Maria - Rooney - Mata
    Falcao

    Spank?

Last year we narrowly dribbled by 1-0 at home with an embarrassingly defensive display, and were lucky to get a draw at their place

I was discussing this with my Dad on the way back from the match today. I think RvP should start - him scoring against Arsenal almost seems inevitable these days. Mata probably deserves a start and I want Herrera back so badly! Hopefully the international break gives Rafa time to get fit. We miss him bombing forward so much.

    Arsenal (A)

    29 Nov
    Hull City (H)

    2 Dec
    Stoke City (H)

    8 Dec
    Southampton (A)

    14 Dec
    Liverpool (H)

The next 5 games 15 points are achievable. My biggest worry there is Southampton though, they'll score and can defend.

I am beginning to think that the option of Herrera does not work without Rafael being fit. Don't think Valencia offers the same option for Ander to pass to. Valencia would just cross the ball, where Ander and Rafa exchange passes round the edge of the box so Ander can thread the ball through to the strikers.

Fellaini is a good option against physically strong teams as he helps in the air, but against Arsenal I think we'd be fine without his added height. The quality on the ball, energy and creativity that Herrera brings is way above anything Fellaini can offer so he really should play.

Basically, players that have to (IMO) play if fit are Rooney, Di maria (middle please), Carrick, Blind, Herrera, Shaw and De Gea. After them I'd definitely keep Valencia in the team but play him on the right, and also bring Mata into it as today he looked excellent when he came on and made the difference in scoring and almost grabbing a second. If Rafael is fit then he walks in behind Valencia, and then whoever is fit for right center back I guess. Smalling will probably get himself injured though he'll be back from suspension, while Jones and Evans might both be back fit. McNair has probably looked more solid then any of them but I doubt he'd play away to Arsenal.

    So that would be:
    De Gea
    ??? ??? Blind Shaw
    Carrick
    Valencia Herrera Di Maria Mata
    Rooney

Problem is he won't drop RVP. So he will persist with Rooney deeper. Unfortunately, he won't want to upset RVP by dropping him against Arsenal. Remember we have a two week international break coming for other players to get injured. It won't be other teams players, it will be our bloody players.

Yeah but 2 games over the break for Netherlands, if RvP fails to perform in those as well there might be hope. Van Gaal could go for the freshness of Mata and Herrera instead of Van Persie who has been off anyways. It's not much to cling on to but it's something. We're looking to get that balance and I think that'd be a brilliant team, and we won't have a balanced team until we stop playing Rooney and Van Persie together. They just don't work.

Got a feeling this will be a boring one. I think we should be able to beat this lot though.

I thought LvG had more courage in dropping players tbh. He is as scared of upsettting RVP as Moyes was. I actually think it might do RVP more good having a break than trying to get him to play through his woes. Also after being told that we had lost our identity he seems determined to blood Januzaj and Wilson to prove people wrong, even if it isn't necessarily good for the team. Januzaj has not justified being picked. Wilson I like, but to me if you are going to play him, play him properly or don't. Bringing him on for short periods, when we aren't actually creating chances for him serves no purpose.

We need to improve and I just feel Welbeck will score a late winner after showing the qualities we lack at the moment (pace and directness and good link up play with wingers and midfielders). Hope I am wrong though. Falcao back can be the key we really need him although what form he is in is hard to tell now.

We need to beat a big team and Arsenal will do just nicely. They have a inferiority complex when they play us, all their players just seem scared of us, even last season lol. If we beat these at their ground it should set us up for a nice string of wins going into the hectic December fixtures.

As international breaks go, this one is welcome. Hopefully we go into the Arsenal game with more players available than we have now.

I'm having de ja vu from saying this before the last international break, largely concerning the usual suspects.
Given our luck, 4 will return and 5 will pick up new injuries

    ?
    fecking England..

I couldn't care less about internationals to be honest. They were a pain in the ass back when we were any good, now when we're looking for momentum we seem to have one every 5 minutes.

Oh well. At least we might have a centre back fit by the time this comes around. We seem to have Arsenal's number the same way City have ours, even so it won't be easy.

    --------------------------De Gea-----------------

    --------------------------Carrick-------------------
    -------------------Herrera-----Di Maria-----------
    ---------------------------Mata--------------------
    -------------------Rooney----Falcao---------------

Falcao needs a game, Rooney always plays, Mata deserves a go, RvP needs a rest (kindest way to put it), Januzaj is poor at the minute and Di Maria plays like my aunt on the wing. Everything points to us going for the diamond, but we've been good defensively since we dropped it. However we've obviously suffered going forward. Tricky one in such a big game. In my heart of hearts though i know we'll go for something that looks nothing like the above.

Been told by a friend that McNair is injured, any truth to this? Surely we cant have another defender drop dead, its getting ridiculous!

Can't be more boring than last year, you lot came with no ambition expecting to lose and then perked up a bit when you realised we looked as scared of you as you were of us.
Christ, that was a dire affair.

Physio room expect Falcao, Jones, Evans to be back and I think Rafael has tweeted he expects to be fit

With the players away on international duty I'd play a fresh team

    --------------------DDG------------------
    Rafael---Jones--Evans--Shaw
    ------------Herrera---Carrick-------
    Di Maria-----Mata-------Rooney
    ------------------:Falcao-----------------

Harsh on Fellaini and RVP perhaps

Alternatively with the same back 4

    -----------------Blind------Carrick--------------
    -------Herrera----Rooney---Di Maria---
    ------------------------Falcao----------------------

Don't know why but Blind, and Di Maria in the middle would worry me, maybe Blind, and Herrera would be the better way to go, might help Di Maria's game on the wing too, will change it to:

    -------------------DDG--------------------
    Rafael------Jones------Smalling-----Shaw
    ------------Blind-------Herrera----------
    Rooney----------- Mata------------Di Maria

But that's how we're playing atm, and LvG apparently sees it as the way to go, just a shame for Di Maria to be switched when he was doing so well in the middle.
