We need to beat teams other than Chelsea and City. Let's rephrase that. We should be beating teams other than Chelsea and City. This is the least we should be doing in a 'transition'.

But that's how we're playing atm, and LvG apparently sees it as the way to go, just a shame for Di Maria to be switched when he was doing so well in the middle.
My guess is we're only doing that to add balance until our defense is sorted, the diamond or 433 is how we're gonna play our future football in my opinion. We were a different beast with the diamond as it gets the best out of our best players.

I was right with my predictions about our results since the Leicester match.....i go for a win at the Emirates

Of course to stop Sanchez will be difficult but i just feel this match will be our Juventus 1-4 Bayern Munich match (Turning point in Van Gaal's career at Bayern Munich after a bad start)

    3-2 away win (Welbeck & Sanchez - 2xRooney & Di Maria)

    Welbeck to score.... an OG!
That would be awesome.....Agent Welbeck

This is probably the only game in the world where Welbeck is guaranteed to score.
But i think the same

    I reckon we'll smash them.

Bound to be right saying that one of these times.

Di maria, Herrera and mata must play together in this one we have no fluid attack without the three amigos working the ball around playing clever football.

We'll beat them, they're the one "big" team we tend to beat most the time.

    Rafael - Jones - McNair - Shaw
    Carrick - Blind
Herrera - Rooney - Di Maria
    RVP

Subs: Mata, Valencia, Wilson/Falcao (if fit)

Back four with Carrick and Blind in front should be enough protection for the back, yeah? Anyways, just pound it right up the kisser. Take no prisoners. I'm even confident about a clean sheet :wenger:.

    Goals
    Di Maria breaks his drought
    RVP (pen)
    Agent Welbeck (OG)

The only positive thing from the international break is some injured players may back hope to see Falcao and Herrera start this one and Jones also will provide an option for the Cbs other wise God how much I hate the Internationals break.

Of all these injured players, who is going to make us better besides Rafael? Are we sure that the central defense would be in much better shape with any combination of Rojo, Smalling, Jones and Evans?

We absolutely need to win this game. The difference it would make... We should play Di Maria centrally, him versus Mertestracketer will be very fun.

What the feck is up with these international breaks this season? There's been one every single month. It's ridiculous.

As much as I hate them they've helped us an awful lot with on the injuries front.

I hope welbeck gets a good reception from the Man Utd fans. Done nothing wrong, we were the ones who done something wrong to to him

When was the last time Arsenal beat us? We absolutely can't lose to them, actually we should win, no tactically half decent team loses against Arsenal :nervous:

Would love to see something like this.

I've picked a similar line-up, more in hope than expectation. I've put RvP in though as he seems to love scoring against them!

Yeah RvP seems like a starter for this one. If Falcao is back it would be a good game for him to get in as well, although I would imagine he will need a few reserve matches and may if anything only see a bit of sub time.

    I'm certain he will.

If they don't have the ball, they're done. We've got everything we need to keep it away from them.

If Falcao is fit then drop RvP, but I don't think we necessarily need both Blind and Carrick for this one, Arsenal's midfield and centre backs can be got at so I'd rather see two up front with Mata in his best position.

That looks good although I can't see Blind going to the bench. Sadly, in such a scenario, it would probably be Mata or Herrera, at the expense of our creativity. If McNair and Smalling are our CBs, I can definitely see Van Gaal playing both Carrick and Blind as protection.

I agree that Blind will start, that formation is more what I want to see rather than what I expect to happen. My worry is that although Blind and Carrick would give us lots of control and possession against Arteta and (Wilshere/Flamini?), we look devoid of ideas when we have it at the moment. Look at yesterday and when we had 11 vs. City for example; lots of passing but no real chances coming from it.

with mcnair and smalling you're going to have a bad time against arsenal...
Arsenal aren't as good as good as City or Chelsea and we did ok defensively in terms of only concede 2 goals between both fixtures. We will probably conceded against Arsenal as well, but that's to be expected playing them away.

    pretty much agree with that.

people are still going on about our defence. But we have steadied it even with all the changes. I expect Fellani to start and put himself about...and unfortunately Rooney will be asked to play deeper.

I hope Falcao is fit. He may make teh difference.

I can see Welbeck scoring a hattrick vs us. He's been od a deadly form laely.

Jokes aside, we absolutely need to win this one somehow, they didnt manage to beat us last year under Moyes so I guess they wont this time too but football doesnt work like that.

I hope we'll have at least one defender fit for the game, play better then yesterday and show a commitment like vs City and Chelsea.

Will Kos be back for them? I'd fancy our chances up against Monreal at CB.

We'll need someone who can break up play and push their midfield around and not get bullied by Flamini. If they pass around us I can easily see them putting us to bed. People are going on as if the Chelsea and City games were good from us. We got lucky in the Chelsea game, which was very boring and we got even luckier in the City game. They should have had 3 pens and we should have been down to 9 men.

It just feels at the minute we are relying on a moment of magic from individual players instead of a good cohesive attack. It's fking weird because in pre-season we looked formidable in attack.
