    Typical United in big games
Ridiculous line up, all upfront, no midfielder

I hate it when players all just wave around and act like prima donnas - just man up and play as a team.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team in the Champions League so clueless what to do with the ball. Every time a player received it they shit themselves and pass it backwards. I thought Ralf hated backwards passes? Abysmal

We’ve made them look like the defensive juggernaut they were 5 years ago.

An embarrassing display that was obviously coming the second I seen the team. There’s no balance there and Pogba/Fred and Ronaldo/Rashford literally always bring out the worst in each other.

Ralf needs to be brave and make changes at half time. Get a forward off for McTominay or Dalot and either get another body in midfield or go to a back three.

Let's be honest, we barely scraped through a group which was more Europa League than Champions League and have done nothing to suggest otherwise so far.

    Lucky it's just the 1

Basically just saw the difference between a well organised team with a top manager and a team without any game plan or ideas.

Whats the point with 3 CBs if we cant defend anyway? Take one off and bring Elanga on!

One of the worst halves of football I’ve seen from you this season, but there’s more than enough ability in this team to turn it around.
You didn’t watch us a lot then. It’s normal service resumed.

I hate these vile cnuts. Diving. Cynical fouls. Bellends.

But why have we gone to a three at the back?? FFS. It's clearly not working. Stupid decision by Ralf

That's like late Ole ball again. Terrible in possession, zero movement off the ball and slow to react at the back. Really though we were past some of this with Ralf.

Maguire although not the only one has been atrocious and our worst player. I know some think it doesn't matter but for me having a captain start consistently who is this far below the level just sends out the wrong message.

Poor doesn't cover it. Dalot for Varane, Matic for Fred. Bring on Elanga for Rashford after 60.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
Not one man in there. Not one leader. No one to get into tackles, to commit to a dribble, to win the 50-50s, to make a lung busting run, to play with aggression. Soft, indifferent millionaires who don't give a feck.

What a sorry state of affairs. No manager can get a tune out of a team of players who don't care.

If you think Dalot will be a liability defensively there then put on AWB.

But you'll go on and say he's not good in attack, as if a CB will actually be.

Can you think of any actual good reason to go with 3 CBs out of the 4 backline ahead of our actual right backs or are you going to spend the night trying to shift goalposts and twisting the actual point ?
I would have started AWB but can see the logic in playing Lindelof there. Neither fullback is getting forward and we don't know if that is a tactic or the fact we can't keep the ball.

Ralf clearly doesn't like AWB given he's played once in two months and probably doesn't fancy Dalot in the away game.. Maguire is captain and was decent against Leeds, Varane has the experience and is our best defender and Lindelof was excellent at the weekend.

Shameful half. I don’t think we created a single chance. Genuinely

This is unwatchable. Utterly lost, spineless, uninspired. Shocking performance. Benfica : Ajax game has more goals than we have goal attempts. :houllier: I just don't understand the Lindelof decision. He should have started as CB in Maguire's place and Dalot as RB. Pogba and Bruno awful. Sancho is completely invisible.

Let's hope Atletico fall apart in the second half.

Need to get Rashford off for Matic and push Pogba further forward. Won’t happen though.

Rashford looks absolutely disinterested. Don't understand how someone so good, who speaks so often about how much he loves Manchester United, can look so pissed off on the pitch all the time.

Pogba playing like he has a grand piano on his back. Has started more counters for Atletico than he has for us.

Ronaldo looks upset generally, but he's clearly trying his hardest. Just can't find a way in to the match.

As long as it's 1-0 we are still in it, but Madrid are working a LOT harder than our team. I don't think they're blessed with talent but they're nasty bastards, and they fight and niggle and wind up everyone, and to be honest our players need to either work the ball faster or hope a set piece does it for us. Neither of those things are likely to happen, so it doesn't look good.

Absolute brutal 1st half performance! We’ve been shocking since kick off. When the f*** are these players going to wake up? Oblak hasn’t even had a save to make. Kondogbia is just running the show in midfield like a prime Zidane. 1-0 flatters us massively.

Refs been shite as well as he’s letting them getting away with murder but his performance is the least of my concerns just now. Rangnick needs to kick a fair few backsides in that dressing room.

Meh, not as bad as some on here would have it. .
A little bit of an attacking desire would be good, but the tactics are obviously to keep it tight.
If we can nick a goal back we'll be fine, Elanga to come on and make the difference.

No interest in seeing grandpa Matic or any of the other old chancers out there. Lets get Dalot in and hook one of Maguire or Varane, Elanga in for Rashford and Hannibal on for Pogba to start the second half, a bit of energy and dynamism.

I have a headache. Dunno if it’s the muppet with the drum or watching ‘world class’ Pogba jog about losing the ball and shouting at the screen. Do care if he scores a hat-trick second half, he stealing money every week. Poor again. Panicking and not plan as far as I can see.

We've had over 60% possession but our forwards have hardly seen the ball.
