Any updates on the covid outbreak? Nothing in the media..

United and Rangnick need to show this is a different regime to Ole and need to drop Bruno and Rashford for Donny and Cavani/Greenwood to show there is no favouritism like under Ole. They have had enough chances all season and in shite form all season or most of the season anyway.

Looking too. Some of the reports are about team news and imply all ok, but can’t see anything definitive

What a mess with these covids out breaks. We may not play this week at all, Brighton just reported a break in their squad as well. We're supposed to play against them on Saturday.

The new variant will cause a lot of trouble, maybe better to just postpone the season soon.

Several countries will go into a lockdown again too.

Man was really really looking forward to this game, such a shame.
    Nothing can be done though.
Wonder what happens if more and more teams keep getting hit by this...another void thread imminent. :nervous:

its better for us if its called off and rescheduled for later on in the season.
They are bouncing and we are still flat - so its better for us

Would make 0 sense to do that unless the country was in lockdown. The players will be just as likely to catch it if they’re not playing and head out partying etc. Best option would be to ask the players to reduce mixing until the new year and ensure those vaccinated get their boosters.

    Supports
    Brentford
United getting "Brentford flu" and not fancying it ;)

I mean depending on when it gets rescheduled to it could help us out too - currently without Raya (first choice keeper), Pinnock and Ajer (two first choice centre backs), Josh Dasilva who would be a starter if he hadn't been injured, plus Toney not 100% guaranteed to be back if it goes ahead tomorrow. Also have other injuries and people just back who aren't match fit yet.

This and Brighton game off? Next game for United is probably not until December 27th away to Newcastle.

Assuming this will be postponed: Will the first team members negatively tested be able to train? Will the facilities reopen for them? Would suck otherwise

Dont see how we can play if we cant train and if the training center is off limits to players, the only option it to postpone.

I thought there was some rule that you had to play even if there were cases of COVID provided you had enough players?
I guess the issue is they don't know how many are ok. If they were all told to quarantine today until they're all tested, they won't be ready in time for tomorrow game. I don't see why Brighton would be an issue. Plenty of time to be able to quarantine everyone, isolate the positives/negatives and then work with a clean group.

Needs to be a decision made. Fans could be needlessly travelling at this rate, which is just a risk and a huge expense.

Yeah I don't get why they drag this out. At this point we should know who's positive and who's not. The decision whether to play the game on that basis surely can't take this long. Sucks for traveling fans and also for the payers.

No chance with a World Cup this time next year. It seems to me like they need to bring back the strict bubbles again over the Christmas period.

It makes far more sense to play the game now with limited prep than it does to have a situation where we’re playing fixtures every 48 hours for a week.

Better for us if it's postponed in our current state.

Yeah thanks FA, make them travel so they infect everyone they encounter but cancel the game at the last minute so Brentford don't get sick? Make's sense...
Respectfully, this isn’t how Covid spreads, nobody infects everyone they encounter. I know you’re exaggerating on purpose and that this is a conversation for current affairs room but as a society we need to reign in the hyperbole a bit, we seem to have lost any sense of proportionality with regards to this virus. Comments like this are abundant in person and online and it collectively amounts to hysteria.

We're just a bus stop in Hounslow and we own that but leave off with the Stoke 2.0 comments - I know a lot of it is born out of ignorance but Thomas Frank is no Tony Pulis for a start ;)

Looking forward to Tuesday, it's nights like this I'd never thought I'd see supporting Brentford for 30 odd years and I am loving the ride. See you Tuesday the lucky few who got one of the few away tickets available.
If it's starting to look like a bloodbath, please heed the example set by Liverpool and show us some mercy.

I am not convinced by this 4-2-2-2 formation. Perhaps it can work, but not with the same players in midfield/attack. I want to see some change. I'd also rather see a 4-3-3 but played with proper midfielders. I don't know why we insist on playing Bruno in a #10. He's not a midfielder. Play him on the left wing

    -------------------------------Henderson-----------------------------
    Dalot---------------Bailly------------------Maguire--------Shaw
    -----------------------------------Matic----------------------------------
    ------------------------VdB------------------Fred----------------------
    Sancho---------------------Ronaldo-------------------Bruno
So you're going to drop DeGea, the player who had to perform heroics so we didn't lose to mighty Norwich? Why Henderson?

I thought after Saturday this was tricky, now looks like if it does go ahead then it is going to be very very tricky to come away with 3 points given the disrupted build up. Not looking forward to this...
