Two years in, I still can’t see a coherent stategy going forward. There’s far too many games where we simply fail to create any clear cut chances. We are simply far too dependent upon individual moments from some clearly talented players.

Two years in, only one player has had an outstanding season under Mou and that is our goalkeeper this year.
It was dire. We are improving though. Luckily the match has zero meaning on the season.

    This is true...

... if it were a one off.

This happens far too often for it to be just the players. Half our games are like this, sitting deep, not pressing, slow, taking too many touches, complete lack of movement and no cohesion.

Yes the players have been dogshit and deserve criticism but this is clearly the manager and the way they’re being coached.

Do we look like a team that knows what we’re doing in an attacking sense? No and it’s been like this for a huge chunk of the season.
We started off the season so well too.

I agree we need more attacking ideas going forward.

But, even if this was a "typical" Jose plan of attack (attack definitely isn't the right word but hey how) the players were shocking.

How many mistakes did we make tonight? Jose's so called philosophy is to make no errors, so even playing at his game this was a terrible performance by the players.

I’m glad you think so. I don’t think we are any better as a team though. In terms of individuals, I’ve only improved my opinion of Lukaku and De Gea from two seasons ago or when we signed them, if since then. Romero too in fairness. That’s depressing.

Maybe no real incentive to get results ?
Just awful though. No excuse for Pogba to smash simple passes out of play and the defenders to not track their runners. Frustrating.

I am not watching the game tonight unfortunately, I am judging mostly by how shite Sanchez was for us so far except for two or three games.
Sanchez is literally lightyears ahead of Rashford as a player and that’s including his subpar performances which have been many.

Can we really blame Jose for this. That show of arrogance from Rashford, that invisible game from Mata, no run ins from Rashford to hold up the high line, Fellaini being unable to keep the ball at his feet. Dont get me wrong. I think jose too is capable to what we have witnessed today but we cannot simply put all blames at him. I am just glad that this game doesnt mean too much for us.

The bottom placed team too, while drawing with the 18th and 19th placed team.

Matic won the league less than a year ago though. So he's still got it.
Kante should take the credits. Matic was surplus to requirements - that was why he was spat out like a bitter pill in a baby’s mouth.

In general throughout his career, of course. As a Manchester United he is nothing better than him. Actually, average Rashford's performance is far better than Sanchez's so far.

That's pushing it. Neither have covered themselves in glory but Rashford has been pretty tragic for large parts of the season.

Result is not the issue. He picked the team and he set them up. Our football is terrible. You can play badly only so often till it catches up with you.
Totally agree. We have played like this on a good number of occasions and got away with it this season

I am not even surprised when we lose anymore. Our performance level is so bad sometimes even the wins don't feel that great because you know a defeat is around the corner.

Chelsea are down in fifth this season though. Having Matic next to Kante defo helped.

If he thought playing Fellaini was a way of the big lump proving he was worth that contract, it didn't work.

Simple question....Why does every team we play look so much more better drilled and organised than we do?

Sometimes it feels as thought the players don't understand they're playing for Manchester United. We are the majority of clubs' biggest game of the year, and when we turn up at their ground they always give that extra 10% against us no matter where we are in the league. Feels as though often the players don't quite appreciate that and too often stroll through the game.

Dunno what many are thinking. In the first half we were zero, absolute zero and it a not a problem of attitude, it s about quality.
Right flank -》 dead. No RB no natural RM. Just look how many times pogs received the ball facing their goal at about 50 yards, had a look on the left and right and nobody was there.

Left flank -》 dead. 33 year old Ash. Was good defensively at times, dire going forward. Martial, oh boy, he completes 2 out of 5 dribbles, can t cross if his life would depend on it. He s a Nani copy, on his day world class but 70% of times he s absolutely annoying to watch. Also, in the second half in which he tried to go a bit inside he was a bit better but his positioning and game sense are 0, sorry. 2 times Luke goes up the flank, receives, Martial comes and hugs him instead of making a run. That s lack of game sense.

CF 》 Rash is not a CF, he made some strange and late runs, but that s because he didn t have any support, no width in the team.

Mata 》 class guy but useless for our team

People were moaning that Paul took 4 shots from outside the box. What the fek should he do when the team has no width, nobody becomes available for a pass, no pressure on their defense. At least he was trying.

Our problem is not how we re set up, not jose. It s width and attacking quality. Get shaw in every game, a good rb, a natural RM, and another creative CM so that Paul can go up and we re a different team.

He's a professional footballer. He's had ample opportunity to play and not feck up every four yard pass.
So what do you say to Sanchez and Lukaku who were both crap for long periods fecking up similar 4 yard passes even when they played regularly? Are they not professional footballers? Or Fellaini for that matter?

They don't have the cult following.
