Nope. This also happened several times last season. Mourinho has to be blamed but not for dressing room nonsense. It's for failing to preparing the team over and over and over again for these kind of matches. Brighton are simply up to it. Any small time playing on their pitch in front of their crowd will be up to it. We just turn out in these games completely arrogant and thinking that the goal is coming anyway like an Old Trafford, then we're shocked and it's game over.

Mourinho seems to fail to get the players to change this crap arrogant attitude which is worrying.
We don't do well when we're expected to hold the ball. Actually we don't know what to do to be precise.

Not sure why everyone is blaming Bailly. The penalty was a poor challenge but it was a result of Lindelof's man just getting a free run straight into the box. Where the feck was Victor?!
Both are at fault. You still don't lunge and give away a pen. It was a hard angle for Knockaert to have a go at goal from. He's a right footer, remember?

Terrible tracking from Lindelof, but also terrible decision making and composure form Bailly.

Sure its been said a lot, but first half only highlights our failures in the transfer market. Especially (and shocked me number of people saying we didnt need one) the failure to sign TWO centre backs of quality let alone one. And before people say the board let Mourinho down, these are the two centre backs Mourinho signed remember.
I like Bailly, but if he cant cut out the rashness in his game he wont be a top centre back. Lindelof will never be a top centre back, how any fan not blinkered can rate him is beyond me, he is so averae in every facet of being a centre back. Worst signing since Fellaini.
We have also seen the need for a right winger, Mata as much as I like him, shouldnt be at the club still, there is no place for him in 4-3-3. Fred has struggled first half too but it is just his second game.
Other player I want to single out as a dud though everybody seems to like him is our goalscorer. SUre he scored, but bar that and the time he nicked the ball and fluffed his finish I am pretty sure he gave away the ball on EVERY other touch he had. SO many moves break down around Lukaku, he is such a poor player with his back to goal it is unbelievable.
Only player with any credit from the first half is again Pereira

Everyone saying Jose has lost some of the team I don't think that's acceptable at all. Even if you have beef with the Manager play for the supporters play for respect. Don't act like little sorry ass twats who has hurt feelings. Grow the feck up or move on.

Agree that it was initially Lindelof's fault, but Bailly had no need to throw himself into that challenge after the ball had gone.

The odd thing is that individually the technique isn't actually bad. But collectively were lesser than the sum of our parts.

I'm tired of Mourinho to be honest. I don't think we're destined for big trophies under him.
I don't rate any of em that much when it comes to kicking a ball to be honest  Pogba aside

There is just no cohesion. Very depressing to watch, like watching a group of 11 random men jumbled together and left to work it out for themselves.

I cannot imagine Brighton giving City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs or heck even Arsenal a game like this. They are well up for it, and so they should be.

Under Fergie I'd give ourselves a chance. How do you come back from a 3-1 dismal first half performance.

I fear we may concede another early and Brighton will shut up shop.

The first one where he ran off to cut the cross for no bloody reason as Fred was tracking him, leaving Lindelof off kilter.
Don't think that he was personally, it was a collective feck up, Fred was late as well. Doesn't mean that Bailly isn't responsible for it though

I think Lindelof would have recovered to sop a shot.. he was running in behind. but both CBs have been poor

Lukaku scores from his excellent chance early on and it's a different game completely.

So many shocking errors from the players. 5th year of shit football coming up. How are those shirts selling in Asia?

Criticising the mistakes is fair. But there is a coaching problem. It was the same against Leicester. So passive, never on the front foot and it results in shit like that. Nail on the head here.

This describes it so well. Not sure we even train. Think we just watch videos of Delle's social media or something.

Hard to argue with. De Gea is maybe a bit fortunate considering some of his distribution has put us under immediate goal threat.

What coaching?! All our players look absolutely terrified of the football! We started the game like we were 3-0 up and cruising.

I'm just so depressed by what I see from United these days. There were seasons under Fergie where the football wasn't the best, but you never felt like we had a team of cowards.

I just can't identify with any of these players, they will obviously never care as much as I do.
It's the coaching, it's the style. Mata is getting criticized for not tracking back, Bernardo Silva played for City as a RWB, they had no problem defensively, you know why, because they press as a team to win the ball back, with Mata, we cannot expect him track all the way back to help the fullback, if you want to play him as a winger, ask the team to press, if not don't play him.

Would like to see Lingard and Rashford on for Mata and Martial. Not jumping on the kneejerk bandwagon yet.

We're making a mid table Championship level player Murray look unplayable at the moment.

Brighton are a bunch of journeymen hacks, yet are playing like dons.

    Amazing.

This Bailly - Lindelöf experiment has got to end though. It's lasted way too long already. Get Smalling back in asap.

If we can salvage a draw we'll have done amazingly, as not sure we have 3 away goals in us.
    Back to Smalling.FFS.

Bailly had no business making mad foul on a ball going away.
Besides Bailly conceded a corner that lead to goal under zero pressure. When all he had to do is a toe poke to make it a throw in

I suggested 3 at the back before the game for a reason, it is to plug that ruddy great hole in front of goal, Mata is a waste of space while everyone bar none are below par, what happened ? Did they watch city earlier and think 'oh well that's the title gone' ?

Being beaten by relegation fodder playing 4-4-2...not good enough.

We're not saying it's acceptable. We're wondering what the hell is going on because they sure don't look interested at the moment.

I hope the club fines them all a week's wages for this pathetic performance.

When owners don't invest this is what happens. An absolute tragedy for United but completely predictable. How can the owners expect the fans to pay to watch this? Can see thousands ripping up their season tickets.
That group of players should be beating Brighton without investment and we are going to lose to them two seasons in a row. The players don’t look bothered, and this is becoming very common, especially away from home.

The worst half of football I can remember. Not one of them players can hold their heads up after that.

Blame Jose all you want but the players are getting bullied and are solely to blame for that horror showing.
How many times are we going to say this, though?

Players follow the instructions of the manager. Yes, they're not performing well, but Brighton dominating the ball is down to us dropping as a unit and allowing them to do so.

Why are we dropping against Brighton? Why are we inviting them onto us, especially with three technically very good midfielders, who are good in possession? I just don't get it. To make matters more confusing, we haven't even got the best defenders. As the saying goes, attack is the best form of defence. Give teams chances to play against us and they're going to create chances. Unfortunately, De Gea hasn't been able to bail us out today.

Even IF we win (which I doubt we will) it in no way can take away from how utterly shit we are.

I kind of want us to lose if it pushed Mou closer to the door. I understand some will give me flak for this statement but the sooner he's gone the sooner we can salvage a season. More of this to come this season at this rate.

This has got to be a pisstake! You think this is par performance for the amount of money spent by United under Mourinho?

I'm looking forward to that moment now, that we'll all point back upon throughout the rest of the season, saying "we did it against Brighton, so we can do it again"

Guy on NBC saying Martial should be the first one subbed  probably to fit with the agenda that Jose hates him
Not been our worst player but he hasn't done anything to prove himself in this game, although that can be said for most of our players.

Defensively we’re shite but there’s feck all going forward either.

Years behind in terms of talent on the field and style of play. We’ve got a struggle to finish 4th.

Our classic away game against bottom side clubs. Every fecking year the same. How? How we keep losing these games year after year. Brighton, huddersfield, wba, stoke...
Have to agree. I'm a Jose supporter but for the past 2 seasons we have consistently not performed against teams who are the standard relegation fodder. Once or twice fine, but it's so consistent it's clear the manager and players think underestimate them.

Mourinho giving it all that in the media seems like such a distant memory now. He'll be back to good ol' grumpy Jose after this match.

I'm not saying the CBs have been great but everything Brighton has done has come from their left/our right. I know Darmian is pretty much loathed by most fans but he knows how to defend. Not sure why he's been replaced by Young who doesn't. He's become passable at LB but at RB his positioning is terrible, it's caused Bailly to have to come wide and create a big gap between him and Lindelof. Honestly I'll probably be ripped apart for saying this but if Darmian had kept his place I don't think any of this would have happened.
I have said this too and to make matters much worse Mata is playing on the right in front of Young. Jose must be absolutely mad to do this. I am getting fed up of playing Mata playing now. He is a nice guy but his negatives is a lot more than his positives. He has sold Blind who is a much better player than Mata.
As for Martial, we are not playing on our left side where Shaw and Martial are way much better than Young and Mata. So why are we trying to play on our right side?
Jose cannot be trying to blame the Board for not beating Brighton with the squad he has. If he brings on Scott he is not going to be an upgrade on the midfield we have right now.
