@Raoul open Paz’s thread again, it’s a good discussion to have. It’s inevitable there will be a stage where we just can’t carry on with Mourinho anymore and there will be no way back for him - and it’ll happen soon if we carry on like there’s. There’s absolutely zero positives about our current football.
There are already multiple threads for that. Mourinho performances in the player performance forum as well as the post match thread.

Just saw a fight outside my house. Those 20secs were more entertaining than our entire performance today.

Hard to know where to start or how to put in into words. Ambling around the pitch, breaking into an occasional jog and generally not looking interested doesn't cut it at Man United. Gary Neville nailed it when he said Bailly looked like he was doing a three legged race. He wasn't the only one but his performance today just defied belief.
Something has to give. City and possibly even Liverpool are going to disappear into the horizon at this rate.

So you think having Aderweireld or Maguire in defense would help us create chances offensively. We were absolutely abysmal going forward and couldn't string 2 passes together so we'd need to sign Kroos and Modric to make any kind of difference out there.
Precisely my point since Moyes arrived. I bore myself repeating the same thing. We have never replaced Scholes. And when Scholes wasn't around we had 30-something Giggs pulling the strings in central midfield and he had the vision. We sorely lack a creative midfield general with a football brain who can pick out an incisive FORWARD defence-splitting pass.

Modric.. or someone of his ilk.

But Mourinho has always opted for big and strong before guile and finesse. And it will be his downfall.

Am I missing something here?
Rumours are that she left him for Daisy Lowe, they denied it but I have a friend that works in the industry that claims it’s true, personally I think it’s a load of bollocks because we all know you get a fit one and a butch one, we’re entering the world of pornhub if this was true.

    So

A European trophy, a domestic cup and the highest league position since SAF left isn't progress from what we had before??
I was all for him continuing after the first season, since we won stuff and looked decent. Since then, apart from the league position (which won us the grand sum of zero trophies), nothing indicated that we were progressing as a team, and us finishing second was more a result of the other teams not being good enough. This season so far hasn't shown that we're going to come up with any sort of an attacking plan, and players aren't improving under Mourinho. We had 60 minutes to chase a goal against Brighton and came up with what, two shots on target? Two shots on target in 60 minutes is unacceptable if you're 3-0 up, at two goals down it's outright pathetic.

Where do you reckon we're going with Mourinho? Storming the league if he's allowed to implement his ten year plan?

I don't know if it's the players or Mourinho, but the players don't look like they're performing to the maximum of their respective abilities, and that's on the manager. The manager doesn't seem to have any plan to shake things up other than bringing on Fellaini, and he needs to shake things up more often than I think that a Manchester United manager should be.

Criticising the mistakes is fair. But there is a coaching problem. It was the same against Leicester. So passive, never on the front foot and it results in shit like that. Nail on the head here.

    Agreed.

Firstly, regarding the team on the pitch Mata needs to go out. On the first goal he was way out of position and that made our entire defence shift over and get behind on every tackle. He was sloppy in passing, couldn't hold onto the ball and can't defend for shit. Dunno why he's in the team tbh.

Secondly, we need a tactic when going forward. Whatever we need to do to fix that, I'm not sure, but something has to be done.

Third, I've been on the fence about this for a while but Mourinho needs to go. He doesn't know how to motivate the team and there's clearly a rift between him and several players. We can complain about the players all we want and I'm not saying they're not to blame for this loss, because they are, but there's something fundamentally wrong in the club when it comes to motivation and form. No consistency what so ever. That he chooses new players at all times and tries out new tactics all the time does not give us any consistency. Half the time it doesn't look like we have any tactic at all. We're just waiting for something to happen while not doing anything to actually make it happen.

Look at Emery, who despite losing his first two games has changed something at Arsenal. He'll have issues to learn and improve on, like playing Ozil and Mhiki at the same time but he's got Arsenal playing progressively.

    Look at Sarri.

Both had the same pre-season problems at Mourinho at new clubs yet we look we worse than them in terms of coaching and tactics.

I'm really not looking forward to playing Spurs next week. That international break could not come quicker for us.

As if an international break is going to improve our attitude and style of play. If anything it couldn't come quicker if we managed to get a new manager in to work two weeks with non-internationals. I wish we got Sarri, now we could only hope on getting Zidane mid-season - Jardim won't leave Monaco.

I can't imagine Jose ever has a ten year plan :lol:
I agree that the players are under performing massively. It's not good enough right now.
Personally I think we are a comfortable top four team at best, Jose wants more hence wanting a geriatric defender to stop the rot at the back. Would have been the difference between getting three points today

Why? We're always good before a break and shit right after. Jose will go for the draw next week to minimize any potential thrashing and to save face after the defeat.

Not sure why everyone is blaming Bailly. The penalty was a poor challenge but it was a result of Lindelof's man just getting a free run straight into the box. Where the feck was Victor?!
He was drawn out of position on the opener, which created the chance for Murray, though Lindelof was terrible in staying with him and allowed a fecking 35 year old Glenn Murray to run a circle around him.

The second goal obviously came about from a woeful attempt at a back pass and he recklessly tried to foul his man and took himself out of the scramble in the box, leaving acres of space for Duffy to finish.

The third goal was a ridiculous attempt at a tackle on a player moving away from goal. There was only one outcome when he made his challenge at speed, going back towards goal. His athleticism probably got the better of him here. He makes tackles like that from time to time, but also concedes plenty of free kicks because he knows he has the recovery speed and just rolls the dice. It has to be said though, that Lindelof was out of position yet again and Pereira neither closed down Stephens nor dropped off to cover for Lindelof as you imagine Matic may have done.

I'm there too. I wish there was some way of letting them know, it's the same for one of my colleagues at work. We're both the type to change our schedules to watch United, but I honestly could care less after the last 6 months or so.
Ya. It's just the gone to the stage of hopelessness. If I'm not half depressed from watching us I'm infuriated. It's a game of football I know but it can really ruin your day.
