Ever since his non-football activities Rashford has lacked in his performance, Ole needs him to get his head concentrated on football.

Like what I'm seeing. Refreshing to see us dominating Brighton. They tend to be one of these wanky teams who game-raise against us.

Wish they'd get some more balls into the box, quite a lot of fannying around looking for a silky goal. Goal's a goal lads, into the mixer!

It's great we can give Daniel James a rest. No doubt he is best coming off the bench and starting against 'weaker teams'.
Starting against the weaker teams is the worst way to use James. Weaker teams defend deep, James needs space to run into. James best usage is as our Welsh Ji Sung Park, away games against top sides.

off the bench when we’re leading against tired teams pushing forward too.

    Couple of observations

Shaws inside runs are causing Brighton no end of trouble. They can't push him out wide when he's already infield. And even if he doesn't receive the ball, it's giving Rashford a lot of space.

Maguires driving balls out to Greenwood and AWB have been superb. They're so flat the fullbacks can't adjust in time. Its definitely something we've worked on. It just gives us the opportunity to open up the pitch.

Lindelof has been given license to carry the ball forward. Matic and Pogba are automatically dropping in to cover. It's a simple thing but it's happening regularly.

We've just added half a dozen different ways of attacking teams. It's giving our front 5 opportunities to find space. It's so encouraging to see.
Top post! Lindelöf is doing what Maguire usually do, and it’s something they haven’t prepared for. We’ve been dominant and it’s great to watch!

Looking very good in that first half. Really enjoyed it. Pogba has been impressive with his passing, and Fernandes seems involved in anything. Great to see him keep up the impact in front of goal that he's undoubtedly had. Got very close when the post too. First goal was even better to be honest. Greenwood did very well to make a bit of space for himself and finished well.

Haven't been threatened really it let's keep it that way and add a few more.

It’s amazing having pogba back without the theatrics, maybe not having the crowd to play up to is helping.

He marked 3 Brighton players at the back post on his own near the end of that half

Imagine watching that half of football and some people’s first instinct is to come on here and slag players off  weirdos.
They are idiots. Clearly can't wait to attack Rashford. Probably same idiots who called him Rashford 18 months ago.

We have some truly abysmal plastic fans. It annoys the hell out of me. We are playing great. Enjoy it you miserable morons.

With this kind of personnel we can exploit teams who defend deep against us much more effectively. It has proven a cute strategy in the past, but we are starting to get wise to it now.

We look like we can score for fun right now. We 2 up. Him taking one now is not going to change the games outcome. Unless Chris Houghton pulls out the world's best half time talk, we have this game.
Often players who haven't scored in a minute get a chance through a pen. But yeah, they also say 2 nil lead is the worst kind, for some reason.
The next goal is decisive for sure. We score it & Brighton are dead & buried... they score it and it's game on again. We need another goal to be safe.

Decent first half against a strangely anaemic opponent. Greenwood is a natural goalscorer.

Brighton haven't even attempted to play football, it's a bit odd. Our pressing is good though so that's certainly part of it.

Shaw has been brilliant today, he needs to play like this all the time with positive runs.

He needs to make these kinds of runs every game for 90 minutes.

Mason also at 18 years old, fantastic honestly... what a player.
Best fullback on the pitch. He's been fantastic in the first half.

Bruno lifts the tempo of the play, always looking to make something happen and moves the ball quickly. Pogba and he look gold so far, the pressing and urgency that Bruno plays with meshing well with the passing range and variation Pogba brings.

There is the basis of a very good team here, starting to feel highly confident for next season.

Bruno is such a clever player. He's little passes and turns create so much space for the team.

Go for it first 20 in the 2nd half and get a couple of goals then rest the main players imo.
Gd could be important in the final reckoning.
Really enjoyed that half. Proper performance!!!!

It’s almost like he’s coming back from a serious injury.

Excellent so far. Need to put this 11 out as much as we possibly can.

That Greenwood goal reminded me a bit of the Fulham Ronaldo goal, different side, but just the flow and finish.

    Great post.

We've also been very quick with our short passing on the edge of the box on either side, now that we're only fielding players who are technically good. Triangles on the left with Shaw, Rashford, Bruno, Matic. And on the right with Pogba, Greenwood, Bruno, and to a lesser extend AWB.

It's looking a lot better than before. Carrying on from the Sheffield performance. I'm really starting to like this.
