Is Herrera fit for tomorrow? I thought he wouldn't be given he just started training. Would be a huge positive.
He has a knock on the ankle. So put plenty of strapping give him an injection and play him. If our midfield two is Cleverly and Fletcher again then we can add Burnley to the growing list of teams that will win the midfield battle.

I assumed so because basically everyone included him in their line up. I guess we won't know for sure until the press conference.

I know rojo didn't have his work permit for the last couple of games, but does he have it yet? I assume Di Maria's won't be an issue?

Di Maria will start to give us a lift in my view and I think Rojo will start as well, the only question is whether it will be at LWB/LB/LCB. We must win this game, I know it's very early in the season but I feel we need to put the breaks on the mounting negativity.

You'd like to see Evans play again so quickly after his worst ever performance in a United shirt? Not me. I know he's not fully fit, so maybe he can be subbed on if things are going our way. But definitely not a starter right now.

Also, Fletcher was terrible last week. One of the worst midfield performances ever. If we start with him and Evans, then we may as well just throw in the towel.

International break starting on Monday. A win before mid-September would be nice.

Kind of forgot about the existence of Blackett for a second, so him in for Evans is obvious considering the lack of fitness for the latter.

Regarding Fletcher, we really don't have any other options at the moment unless you insist on promoting a youth player, which just isn't going to happen.

After last night, I don't want it to happen. Honestly, as much as I don't rate Jones as a CDM, I'd start him there. With Smalling alongside Blackett and Rojo in defense.

To see Di Maria in their highest level has to play on the left. Alli has a power take off impressive players, we will see just the right finish and play uncomfortable.

I'm just going to say draw line under the start of this season, and when our new signings that van gaal himself has brought in to fit the system.....(not just the ones that were already on the cards, shaw and Herrera) start a fresh and have faith it will turn itself around.

    3-0 united!

I think we will win 2-0, Di Maria and Rooney will score for us. I hope Rojo will be ready for Saturday :) After the win, we will confirm Vidal transfer and it will be great weekend for all United fans!

It's unreal to see a world manager, a respected name like Louis Van Gaal not being able to inspire the players more than he has. I mean, this guy is one of the biggest name in the football world ever. He's a living legend. I'm 100% sure he only need another 2-3 games and we're on our way to become unbeatable.

Well he cant be the will of everyone. The players themself have to will to play football for United. So strange to see that the players have lost all the intrest of playing on United.

This team will concede a lot of goals, but just might be able to score a lot of them as well.

Against teams like Burnley I think the Di Maria Herrera partnership may work and be very effective in a 3-5-2. Against the big sides, no way.

can see us going 4-3-3 now Rojo is available, and obviously with Di Maria. Even more so if Rafael is back.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Evans Rojo
    Herrera Fletcher
    Mata
    Rooney VP Di Maria

Anyone's guess how we'd line up if we did keep the 3 at the back malarkey though.

With what lvg said regarding a change of formation being a 'process' theres no way he'll change formation for this next match.

Most likely ADM will be a sub, but if he does play i guess it will be as one of the cm's.

Will take a while for him to change formation

    --------- De Gea -------------

    Rafael --Smalling -- Jones-- Rojo

    ------Herrera -- Fletcher------

    Di Maria --Rooney -Mata

    ---------Welbeck------------

RVP off the bench, he isn't fit yet.
I'd rather go with this. IMO playing Rooney as #10 is really important so that we can involve Di Maria more effectively, and can provide more to the front. The more we can involve Di maria, the more effectively we can provide the ball to the front, and the key is to increase link-ups with Rooney, not Mata. Don't let Di Maria be just a winger alone to cross. Get him more involved. Mata isn't cut our for the role. Let him play more like CF.

Damn... Writing about football matters in English is so hard. I just can't make understood what I really want to say. Hope you get my point. Di Maria doesn't well function if he play as just a winger. He needs more help around him to make him exert his true potential. I'm a long and biggest fan of Argentine football, and I know that! Get him involved more and get him linked up with other players who can do the job well.

I'm hoping for a Di Maria boom effect, our boys need their confidence back. Our plays and passing were sloppy and unimaginative at best, but having someone around who isn't bothered by the state of others and instead runs relentlessly which in it self is a very good attribute, but to top it all of, is capable of beating any defense in the world will force other players to follow and hopefully step up.

First comes the time for adjusting to a new system, after you have adjusted and know in theory what to do, only thing that's missing in such a dynamic football is fast thinking and non-stop motion which comes with confidence in yourself (your instincts) and confidence that your teammates will understand you, as you will them. Out of the cup ? So what ? The only thing important this season is the first team and PL. I'm not that spoiled a fan to expect a trophy every season or two, thou seriously I doubt we will wait much longer then 2 to 3 years (seasons), but trusting in LvG know and not just now but next season as well, no matter the outcome of the current, because we might not notice this but this is almost a brand new squad, players who have played for 6 to 9 months and some who haven't even played for us yet, and hopefully one or two more who aren't even here yet ^^, it will take much time for it all to gel, and with a coach like LvG, I'm not worrying, it will.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why they are putting Fletcher in their proposed lineups?!!

He has been worse than awful since the start of the season. Hasnt passed the ball for ward once (except to opposition players).

The following are players who I would have in the team before him at CM (Herrera being the obvious choice as the other CM):

    DiMaria
    Kagawa
    Jones
    Rooney
    Powell
    Anderson
    Cleverley

Yes I know some of them are unsuitable/shit/both but still!!

Fletcher is past it but he's better than both Cleverley and Anderson.

I had my hopes up for Fletcher after pre-season but he's been awful since the proper stuff started. We won't win if Cleverley and Fletcher are in the middle.

Its a line-up prediction, and Fletcher is the obvious choice, a lot of us would beg the differ but that doesn't matter.

Can't wait to see DI Maria and Rojo make their debuts. Sure Marcosdeto would be excited as well. Any news on Rafael's state of fitness, Shaw's recovery and Rojo's work permit? I really really really don't want to see Young and Valencia play as full backs again... I know Shaw was out for a month but hope he has had a quick recovery but unlikely we will see him against Burnley. Rojo would be a better option at left back then Young though we need him at centre back.

A win on my birthday will do nicely :D Otherwise, I'm gonna be down all day :(
Think of it as a win-win situation. If United wins great, if they lose then you still have a birthday to celebrate unlike the most of us

Would like to see Evans start this one again. Do not want Fletcher or Cleverley on the pitch at all but I guess it will probably be the case :(

    DDG
    Jones Evans Rojo
    Rafael Herrera Anderson Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney RVP

Subs: Amos, Blackett, Kagawa, Januzaj, Valencia, Fellaini(?)

I didn't think Anderson looked that bad against MK Dons, I think a strong lineup will bring the best out of him.
