It's impossible to come back from that performance. The only way would have been to be clinical because United wouldn't get tons of chances and neither Lingard, Rashford or Zlatan put one in. It's 3pts lost here.
It's not impossible at all, we've had the opportunity to score and then at 2-1 we're right back in it. Chelsea don't look strong defensively, we need to exploit that

Big half coming up for Jose... This will show whether he has still got it or last season was the start of the decline...
This game was lost on individual errors. Take away that feck up at the start and it's 1-0 or 0-0 game that we're still in. Little to do with Mourinho.

Martial mata on fellaini lingard off. I dint even expect a point anyways. We are cursed at the bridge and there is nothing in this game. Conte is italian and he knows how to save leads. We might get a lucky goal but we will concede more. We needed another defender in the summer and we dint get one. Europa league is the best chance of us getting Champions league .

    Looking for Eric
Luiz sent off 9 0f 11 of ours withdrawn, Chelsea move the ball far quicker and to a player on the move we are static and move the ball slowly.

That was absolute garbage. Smalling, Blind and Fellaini have all been absolutely dreadful and our attacks are severely devoid of ideas.

There's no way we're leaving Stamford Bridge with a point. Abysmal and infuriating.

There's goals in this for us, but we really need Martial in for one of the wingers and then Carrick in there for Fellaini. Minimum that. Possibly put Martial in for Ibra and Mata for Pogba and keep the wingers, but still. Changes need to be made. They haven't done much, but some disastrous defending from us has gifted them a 2 goal lead.

Blind is not a defender to play against top teams, he just isn't good enough defensively. Chelsea look more focused and motivated then we do, that said we've created a couple of chances and ibra should have put away his second 6 yard header of the week but didnt. Feel like with a change or 2 a draw is a slight possibility, but that was very poor

Can someone figure out the formation we're playing? It looks like Fellaini and Pogba push high up the pitch when we have the ball to give Zlatan support and Lingard/Rashford are wingers.

But that then leaves Herrera to marshal the entire midfield ffs.

Top four is a stretch. I hope we stick with Mourinho and let him mold the team.

Clearly there are alot of players not good enough or dont have the mentality to play for a top team.
totally agree. and anyway no other manager around (simeone isnt stupid enough to come to us)

I can't fault Jose, it isn't his fault if Mike Smalling decided to doze off today and panic every time the ball comes his way.

We have been awful, yet we should probably still have scored. Chelsea have found it tough to stop the crosses from Valencia. Unfortunately when they've hit the box we've wasted them.

Defensively we are a shambles, and this might put paid to the idea 433 suits us better than 4231. With Fellaini and Pogba advancing we've been done by the ball around the corner loads.

Blind doesn't know if he's coming or going. Subbing him now would be a mercy killing.

PS) Luiz should've been off for the studs up tackle

    Second half?
    Herrera–Pogba
    Mata–Ibra–Martial
    Rashford
    or
    Carrick–Herrera–Pogba
    Mata–Ibra–Rashford

Mata on for Afro and play him at no10, push Pogba deeper besides Herrera. Get on Martial and shift Rashers to the right and haul off Lingaard.

Midfield is breaking down every time Fellaini gets the ball.

Smalling needs to start playing like a centre back and assert himself and let Blind know what he's doing.

Ibrahimovic needs to stay up front.

Pogba needs to start doing something other than pass to Herrera/Valencia.

Chelsea tearing us a new one today. Getting ripped to shreds. Utter embarrassment. Players also look so lost and devoid of any sense of urgency or hunger.
Yeah the most worrying thing is that their players seem to want it so much more than ours.

The goals we conceded isn't that great to Defend. Only ourselves to blame really.

Ya I'm not blaming pogba, the system is failing a few players, but he is still playing absolutely shocking. I would happily take him and fellaini off for carrack and mata
Well mate. Been saying it for four years. Just because he heads in the occassional goal (which hasnt happened at all lately) he is just SHIT on the ball and deterimental to our passing. Has been exposed here being much too slow and static against top players.

Got to go. Just got to go.

Brainless and dumb is how I'd sum us up. Headless chickens at the back when under any pressure at all, very little craft and thought going into our passing and build-up play and so so wasteful up front. Put all that together and you've got a long day ahead.

Saying that we got better as the half went on (not hard I know but let's look at it positively) and there's a chance for us to get at them. Whether we'll take it is another matter.
We conceded in the first 30 seconds. If we can't improve from there, might as well just pack and never play again.

I know it was individual mistakes that led to goals, but the tactics are wrong in this match. Jose went for size but what good is it if can't get contact with the ball when we cross? And what is Zlatan providing if he can't convert his chances to at least be on target? What's needed is mobility, which Fellaini, Blind, and Zlatan can't provide.

That was shite, but honestly, it's not like they battered us. First one was a massive collective brain fart, and second one was jammy as feck.

We created some decent chances ourselves, but luck is not on our side today it seems
Fair play for seeing some positives, unfortunately I can only see negatives.

Chelsea have weak spots that other teams have exposed and they are clear today.

We are simply just too shite. Pile of wank. So off the pace now.

Mata and Martial on for Fellaini and Ibra, we need to stretch this lot more, the openings are there but we need a bit more speed and guile.

Problem is that Mourinho has inherited a load of deadwood bought by Moyes & Van Gaal.

    It's going to take time.

What a bad half. Too many static players and Ibra has to drop deep to get the ball. Defensively very suspect especially Smalling and Blind. Hope for a better second half.

How quickly has Smalling turned to shit again? He should be nowhere near that armband. Tried his best to confuse the other defenders for both goals and is seemingly unable to organize anything. Everything has been said about Fellaini, but he still plays. I'm also sorry to say that Lingard really is a very limited footballer and it's really shocking that he has a place in our team with all the money that we have spent over the last years.

Valencia has been the only good player this half.

I hope this second half the team can actually make us think we can bring this back.
