No one really cares about the FA cup anymore.
Its better than nothing.. but its not really that important
Speak for yourself. To me it's very important. FA cup is the oldest cup tournament in football and the most prestigious national cup trophy.

I don't see Juventus, Barca, Bayern, Real fans or fans in Spain, Italy in general downplay cup trophies it's only become a norm in England. Everything besides the PL, CL are mickey mouse cups and not worth winning it's quite frankly a disgusting mentality.

    Everything is worth winning.

If we'd just won the league or had a CL final to think about this dismissive attitude might be justifiable. But beggars can't be choosers, and for me winning this match is the difference between a successful and unsuccessful season.

Plus I think we should be looking to plant a flag in the domestic cups. Big players want to win trophies. If we want to keep the likes of De Gea and Pogba, making sure they have something shiny to lift at the end of every season is a must.

What they really mean is that the prize money isnt big.

Its pathetic to think people don’t think beating Chelsea in a cup final is important

Of course it's important, it's the cup final ffs.

Anyway, 50-50 game this one, and probably not one that the neutrals will enjoy (unless the managers have a punch up). Hopefully Lukaku will do the business for us.

I want revenge for 2007! And it's actually with the manager that beat us in the final.

I think this game has a good amount of history behind it. Mourinho putting the final nail in Conte's coffin after the match fixing comments earlier in the season would be epic

Totally agree. Football is all about winning trophies.

    Confirmed squad members:

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford
Bah, I was hoping Carrick would be included in the squad and if we were leading with a few mins to go we could sub him on for his last showing. Like what we did with Rooney in the Europa final last year. Still, he got a nice send off at Old Trafford so it's not a big deal.

Oh, cool! I thought he'd already started this, though? He was sat with José and the coaches for at least one game that I remember so I thought he'd been on a player/coach type of deal for a while.

    It's a trophy, buddy.
I would never turn my nose up, at a trophy.
The aim of football (or any pro sport), is to win trophies and tournaments.

Gonna be a very tough game. Everyone needs to be concentrated on their game, and for the full length of it.

Whoever has the bit of luck could win this game.

It was in response to the post just above mine which said this was a very underwhelming build up to the finals.
The thread has been up for 5 days and we were on page 3.
The post has sparked some life into this thread.. so you are welcome..

I stand by my point though. Its very much a tier 2 cup now.. It's pretty clear to see the levels of excitement are nowhere near what it should be for a major cup final.

It is still a trophy and I want us to win it. Maybe I'll get more excited when the lineups are announced tomorrow.

The transfer window has opened early and its worl Cup announcement time just 2 days before the final.

Posters are posting on more than one talking point but don't be a fool and class a major piece of silverware as tier 2.

Michael Oliver is a terrible appointment.

He makes a decision in every game to the detriment of us. Di Maria sending off, not calling for an obvious foul on Martial seconds before Watford score, sending Herrera off for barely touching Hazard in his second foul of the game, awarding a last minute penalty to Everton.

Just watched some United highlights this season and made me feel so excited for tomrrow, wonder how some play down the importance of winning a trophy a F.A cup and finish the season with a silverware! Dunno how those will feel if ( God forbid) we lost the final? A rrophy is a trophy though and if we win we will be equal with Arsenal 13 each F.A cup wins and that is a good thing too. Hope we do the job tomorrow as we look better than Chelsea too, it's important for the players and Jose. Last few games in the league were shit and that's maybe because there was nothing to play for so our players looked like they don't even bother, so excited to see how they going to do in a final game!
    Come on United.

Hopefully he is aware of that too so he owes us something.

No press conference thread? When's Jose due to have it?
Seems the only news is Martial is fit and Lukaku is still a doubt.

When asked by reporters at his pre-match press conference on Friday for the latest on the condition of the attacking duo, the boss said: “Martial is fit and Lukaku we have to wait until the last moment. I don't want to lie to you and say he doesn't play and then he plays or vice versa, so [on] Lukaku, we have to wait.”

Name one referee you WOULD want in charge? Every single football team feels every single referee gives every single decision against them, its nonsense.

Chelsea's forum is probably the same thing about the same referee.

I've been in the Anyone but Oliver camp for years. You can check back my posts if you want. Terrible ref and I'd literally have any other

Going for a curry at night with 2 college girls and then come home to lots of whisky. Watch the match at 1am and I haven't had a wank for a week so it should be a good one, even if the match isn't.
    Feckin' love the FA Cup.

2 college girls and you still need to go home after for a wank? Greedy bugger.

Who cares? We will be playing low block style , so doesn't matter who is playing and who is not. Probably, only 2 player that matters is De Gea and Fellaini, rest all will be camped just outised box , so doesn't even matter.

Jose would start Lukaku even if he was one-legged on a wheelchair. Injury excuse under Jose and that too for a cup final? Perish the thought. Lukaku is a cert.
Yes. Lukaku is definitely playing. Even if he was half fit he'd still play I'm sure. It's just to keep Chelsea guessing.
