Now Jose, nice little hair drier thingy, kick in the ass, slap in the face, and tell them if they don't win, week wages off for all of them, and we will se them score 5 goals in second half. How I miss when men played football, not these insta tweety kids.

load of shite. No cohesion in the midfield. The whole team just seems completely out of whack. I have gone past getting my piss boiled to see Smalling in a Utd shirt now.

You're not the only one. It seems Pogba is the one who is scapegoated all the time. Everything has been off and we've been outworked all over the pitch. No mentions of Lingard who has been completly nonexistent or any others.
Is it actually ok to be «outworked» though? I feel like that should be the absolute easiest thing to fix, just fecking run, tackle and impose on the opponent. Instead we’re jogging and as far as I can remember McTominay’s had our only tackle this half. We’re weak as feck, mentally and physically. Must be a breeze to play against as we offer no battle at all

That right side unit of Lingard, McTominay and Valencia is pretty dire tonight. Lukaku is getting bugger all (as usual).

Young on the left is so average on the ball as well. Pretty criminal he's still at the club.

Pogba probably isn't that bad overall if you forget his daft passing in certain moments but he's very languid both with and without the ball, barely puts his foot in and doesn't take shots either (why should he be allowed to duck out of his midfield duties when doesn't offer attacking threat?).

Seems like one of those games when we'll have tons of possession but struggle to get shots away. Think we'll need a set piece or a goal out of a Palace mistake to get going.

    The true north.
We simply do not have a game plan beyond "give it to pogba and hope something good happens". I find it hard to blame the guy when the play around him is this tumescent. I'd get discouraged as well.

This is as quintessential a failure in coaching as its possible to find.

We're playing like the Chelsea side that sacked Mourinho, but on a positive note we'll score 3 in the second half:(

Carrick at 50 would be better than McTominaldo, he’s nowhere near ready.

Same shit every week, awful football and awful performances. I’ve said it for most of the season, you could add Ronaldo and Messi to this side and we’d still struggle because we have no build up play/gameplan in attack.

This is every week now. Van Gaal football without the possession.

I'd be interested in seeing our shots on goal/chances created numbers for the past couple of months. We're relentlessly abysmal at the moment.
Not at all,at least with van Gaal we had a plan. LVG lacked the players Mou has

The Mc should have really given it away for me

Even less then. Have we literally not had any other midfield options for the last 10 games? McTominay has looked more of a "hey look I'm still playing youth" PR move by Mourinho than an actual serious team selection for me.
Not necessarily - Sara McManus is a Swedish curler. She's half Swedish I think.

We didn't even look like creating a chance, never mind scoring a goal. It's a disgraceful performance from everyone, especially Mourinho. Literally no idea what he is coaching them to do in training

In line with the new rules regarding negativity.

Young is so shite that even our own players know there's no point in giving him the ball. How he starts for us I'll never know. He's at least 2 levels below the required quality.
Yet we won't see Shaw play. Mourinho and his defense first game. We won't win the title with him in charge as long as Pep is in the league. Cowards like him are no longer the way to go forward with a team.

If Sanchez doesn’t look good in this team then clearly there is something wrong.

How many players do we have to sign until they look like a team and not individuals?

Where’s the intensity, the pass appreciation, the desire to get forward and try to score an equaliser. Another game when their keeper hasn’t even been tested after 45 minutes with a front 3 containing a £75m striker and Sanchez, it’s not right.
We can sign who the hell we want, until we change managers we will be playing the same dross except then with more expensive stars. As I have said before, after the last episode at Chelsea something broke in Jose and now we are stuck with the shell of the manager he once was. If you listen to him he nealy seems more concerned about being the best behaved manager on the touch line????

Can't blame Sanchez for effort, hasn't quite come off though. Some good moments, some bad. Pogba looking sloppy and honestly, not like he's ready for the intensity. Most overrated player I've ever seen, nd it'll stay that way til he steps his shit up consistently.

Lingard not doing much but this isn't the game for him anyway. Needs more martial or rashford for width.

Mctominay is average at best, but if he went out on loan, wouldn't go to a premier league side. So why the feck is he starting for us every game? I get it now and then... just Mourinho is going overboard with it.

Young easily the worst though. Should be nowhere near the starting 11 as a left back when we have one on the bench

De Gea - Helpless for the goal. 5

Valencia - Ropy at both ends. 4

Smalling - Looks scared of Benteke. 3

Lindelof -Turned his back for the goal. Looks frightened. 3

Young - Could have tracked Townsend for the goal. 4

Pogba - Embarrassing and egregious. 2

McTominay - Forlorn and vexing teammates. 3

    Matic - A nondescript half. 5

    Sanchez - United’s best player. 6

Lingard - Lively but lacking support. 5

Lukaku - Working hard but blunt. 5
Aside from those 2 for me, spot on.

For me Sanchez has been sloppy on the ball, clumsily running passed the ball instead of with it, slow passes or poor ones.
And McTominay started out more confident of the rest, trying forward passes and has been tracking back well, the yellow he got was because Valencia went guns blazing and left his position wide open, so McTominay had very little choice there.

A lot of talk that Jose has given up on the league and will focus on the cups, not caring whether he finishes 2nd or 4th.

Now - that is pragmatic and it does make some sense.

But how acceptable is it, in terms of principles, for Manchester United to jack in the league two seasons running months before the final league game?

Has anyone had a nice day today? Had a lovely French salad in didsbury earlier and now had a lovely Thai chicken dish. Wish it was a Friday though!
On leave from work this week mate. Everyday is Saturday. It even makes this game more bareable :D

Can someone fill me in on what's so special about McTominay?

He's not awful by any means, certainly not the source of our problems tonight. But he's such an average, forgettable player. I seriously don't see what he offers to our midfield. He's young and he's English, that's about it, really.
This, im baffled by him getting first choice.

It seems every manager has a pet,

Under Moyes it was Januzai, Under Van Gaal it was Rashford and now under Jose its McTominay.

We really have no game plan on how we should try to attack. We haven't had one for two seasons now. It's basically pass it to Pogba and let him figure out something, and since he's in his worst period of form it doesn't help much.

Awful first half, and sadly can't see how we are going to turn this around. Palace playing with intensity and we just look bored.

Everyone in this thread is talking about how bad were doing and im sitting here thinking we've actually been pretty decent aside from the fluke goal they got.

Sanchez and Pogba are the two trying things and if we're going to do anything in the game they'll be needed. What has Lingard done? McTominay? Young? All getting a free pass on here.

    Same old story, innit?

Exactly the quality of United away performance we’ve come to expect from the team.

So, there may be a few things wrong about the set up, but can we for the love of God and everything that is good have someone, anyone on the right wing. It's fecking Valencia alone most of the time and he is always standing there alone just above the half way line. It is so predictable to defend against. Maybe Lukaku needs to drift to the right wing more seeing as he is probably our best crosser too.

That was dreadful. Pogba has been ruined by Jose or his attitude and complacency has ruined him. Only Sanchez cares about going forward, great to see him hounding people to pass forward. Young has been awful, Shaw should be there instead. Lingard useless too and lukaku has had zero service.

I think it's fair to say that jose tactics have expired in the league. His style is so slow and demands more time on the ball. In 2018 we have every team chasing every player whilst doubling up on people too. City had players tripling up! We stroll around like we are walking through the park on a hit sunny day looking for a spot to sunbathe.

    Pathetic! Jose out!

Lukaku's main problem isn't the first touch, it's concentration. He loses a ton of balls because he's not fully concentrated and anticipating the defenders move.
