I'm struggling to see where the money has gone with regards to Sanchez and Pogba. Lingard and McTominay look just as good.

Guys, don't worry, we have been second for most part of the season now. We will now be third. No big deal. All good.

Can someone fill me in on what's so special about McTominay?

He's not awful by any means, certainly not the source of our problems tonight. But he's such an average, forgettable player. I seriously don't see what he offers to our midfield. He's young and he's English, that's about it, really.
Nothing. I said it the other day, he's only in the team because of our youth policy and injuries. He wouldn't start in a championship team, it's that simple.

More practice has gone into the players' pre-game handshake routines than anything football related. What a farce this has been.
Agreed. The idiots can practice their dance moves all they want. But you don't get to put in 50 percent on the same field at the same time. Get rid if they don't want to play for the team .

I dont understand why we're not going wide more often, the middle is so congested that its too difficult to weave through. How many times were Young and Valencia completely unmarked in wide areas?

Our midfield started terribly, all three have lost the ball in the middle creating more pressure on the defense. Dreadful first half, hopefully things change in the second.
Sure neither of them can beat a man or put in a cross.

It's the kit. Knew we would play shit as soon as I saw it. Never seem to win wearing it.

When there's no chemistry and players don't know what to do with the ball 90% of the time, then the problem is with the coaching more than the players themselves.

I'd bring on Rashford. Or get one of Sanchez and Lingaard to just hug the touchline because they're just getting in each others way atm.
Valencia and Young aren't getting used anywhere near enough either.
    Too easy for Palace

The Mc should have really given it away for me

Even less then. Have we literally not had any other midfield options for the last 10 games? McTominay has looked more of a "hey look I'm still playing youth" PR move by Mourinho than an actual serious team selection for me.

Not an exaggeration but one of the worst halves I've seen of United post Sir-Alex. Just so disjointed and sloppy. There's no chance we'll score or get back into this game if we continue like this.

what a bunch of pussies we have, No one wants responsibility and is looking to get out of the ball posession. Mctominay has been very poor along with Matic. Pogba has given the ball away too many times, Lukaku has little service, Lingard cant play that position, smalling must have nudes of Jose's daughter as in no way does he start for us under any other circumstance.

Never enjoy watching us away from home. Either we score in the first half in which we defend for the rest of the game or they score, in which we struggle to score ourselves.

Pogba having an absolute mare as well.
Really sad, isnt it? Considering how good our away supporters are.
Spending so much time and money travelling to watch away games, and this is what they are served.

Appalling performance. These players better step up in the 2nd half.
When manager grows a pair and asks them to press from the front rather then maybe we’ll start seeing a difference, we’re giving an undeserved respect to Palace by dropping back deep everytime they have a ball.

Do we have somebody like that?
    I'm not sure really.

I can see Herrera being the type, but he doesn't play much for us these days.

Rooney was a good captain I think in hindsight.

There was a thread on here recently about our lack of leadership, which I think is true.

It's not our biggest problem of course, but we need a vocal leader on the pitch.

Yep. Hard to see us getting anything from this game. Tbh, it’s hard to see us creating a chance.

Dreadful half. Pogba at his strolling sloppy worst, McTominay not in the game at all, everything to Sanchez is really tight and fiddly.

Lindelof just has that insecure look for me. Could only be him that such a standard shot went in off

True, but what is McTominay's role if Matic is the player to play deep ? He rarely play's a ball forward and get's away with poor perfomances more because we are terrified to be critical on younger players, as far as I am concerned if you are on that pitch you have an equal amount of responbility.
Yep, poor touches aren't understandable when you've never been outstanding in any games. I'll forgive a young Giggs and Scholes no problem because they clearly showed the players they would become more often than not. I bet City fans have no problem with Sane having the odd bad game because it's odd for him not the norm.

In line with the new rules regarding negativity.

Young is so shite that even our own players know there's no point in giving him the ball. How he starts for us I'll never know. He's at least 2 levels below the required quality.

    Pathetic 1st half performance.
Crystal Palace with full control so far and their lead is deserved.

Disappointed with Pogba and Sanchez, need alot more from these 2.
Sanchez has been a disappointment since he joined in my opinion, hope he ups his game in the 2nd half along with the rest.

No matter how many times you polish a turd, it won't turn into a diamond. Passing the ball to Young and Valencia is useless anyway. Especially Young and his absolute zero ability at crossing half well.

Everything that's wrong with us crammed into one dire half of football. There's no understanding whatsoever between any of our forwards, they just seem to get the ball, look to play off Lukaku, lose possession, rinse, repeat.

    It's awful to watch.

Just having Liverpool in front of us and our rivalry being as it is, should have EVERYONE playing to their optimum performance, clearly a lot of this team DO NOT understand what playing for united requires, they can’t do! Literally not fit to wear the shirt!

Not wanting to attract the ''verified moaner'' label

I'm going to say that ''wasn't great''

And I'm not going to say anything at all about Alexis Sanchez or Pogba.

Lots of heavy touches out there. Not just the passing, but the first touch is bouncing all over the place.

Can't even keep the ball on the ground. Palace playing the ball infinitely better than we are. Awful.

He really does. Still in the honeymoon period, I suppose. 500k per week and he hasn't produced anything of note yet.
Sorta agree he’s been crap but then again this is the Mourinho (the wrong) attitude, just buy a top player and expect him to perform miracles in a team which is clearly out of whack all over the pitch. Surrounded by statues.

We’ll never get this team playing to its best with this guy in charge. The contract extension was bizarre and I reckon it really could all go tits up in the third season, which whilst predictable I still find surprising as I thought he’d finally grow up a bit when he first came to United.

Does it look like they’re giving it everything out there? Not for me.
Nope nor me. Not sure he has lost them, but something isnt right. This is not one or two players not playing well, the whole team is stinking the place up.

I don’t really rate McTominay, but I think he’s there to just do a job. Keep it tidy, don’t make mistakes, offer a bit of help to Matic in defence or Pogba going forward.

However Pogba’s role is supposed to be to change games by playing that killer pass or taking on his man. He’s categorically failed at that today.
Again, I definitely agree, Pogba's passing and overall effort is horrendous but he cant solely be responsible in that team for getting the ball forward yet is always targeted by everyone, there is zero delivery from anyone to our attackers

I still don't understand how some fans think Pogba's any where near as good as De Bruyne, let alone "the best midfielder in the league".

I'll take a draw, its' 1 point gained on Chelsea and 4th is the best we can get with this atrocious away form.
Pretty much. Compared to the football Liverpool and Tottenham are playing right now I can't see anything better than 4th atm.

We really should never have bothered with Alexis all things considered now as there were more urgent needs at the time. We just contributed to making him and his agent richer. Preventing City from getting their target is one thing but having zero clue on how to include him in a functioning and coherent setup is far worse.
