Changes I would expect Shaw, Matic, Greenwood out and in Williams (if given all clear) Fred, McTominay. Ighalo unlikely to start as I'd say he'll start on Sunday instead.

I was living down the road at the time so Palace was an easy ground to get too, and cheap too.

So it was a nightmare day. However I returned a year or so later to see Law score a hattrick when we hit them for 5. We are in white in this clip
It's funny, but after all these years Don Rogers and that 5-0 are the first thing I think of when we're playing Palace away, and not Matthew Simmons asking Eric Cantona for his autograph in 1995.

AWB man marking job on him will be best bet if Shaw and Williams out
What and throw the team-shape out for a player who always tries too hard against United as if he's got a point to prove and flatters to deceive time and time again. I'd be more worried about Ayew getting in-between Lindelof and Maguire and nicking one than Zaha.

Reckon we’ll out score them either way and hopefully one or both of Williams and Shaw will be fit anyway.

Hope Greenwood can make the bench, may need him as an impact sub in the last 30 mins.

I'd try not to disrupt the shape of the team as the more players we can have playing their usual positions the better, now is not the time to move Bruno or Pogba around for example.

If Matic needs a rest I'd put McTominay in.
See if Shaw or Williams are fit to start if not then Dalot.
I'd start James on the right to get back and help out AWB on that side if he needs it. Although wouldn't be surprised to see Mata for a bit more of the control and composure that we lost against Soton.

No doubt Zaha will turn into Messi tomorrow night. Always seems when these teams are on bad runs they end it against us, not confident tbh.

Interesting to see how this team responds to the Southampton game as well.

This game would suit Matic-Pog-Bruno because generally they will sit off and play in Woy's trademark super organised and frustrating to break down way. Issue will be with Zaha or Ayew playing off Maguire or Lindelof's shoulder and catching us on the counter because we do look weak in my eyes to the simple ball through the middle given both CBs are slow and DDG never leaves his 6 yard box.

Sakho and Dann will give us plenty of chances. I just hope our fullbacks aren’t physically shot. It’s a position we should be refreshing when games are coming fast like this, but don’t really have that luxury because the options we got as replacements are not good enough currently.

Premier League game against a mid-table team, at a time when we're under pressure to keep our Champions League hopes alive.
2 totally different styles of play though. This will be a lot easier

I remember the 2-0 to seal the PL title: Hughes volley:drool:

It's indeed a tricky game but not because of Palace themselves. We looked off the pace last 2 matches even with the big win over Villa. We continued being off pace then this game and the next game are going to be tricky for us to get the full points.

Hopefully we manage to get the 3 points with any possible means at this stage.

I think Williams, McT and James come in for Shaw, Matic and Greenwood. Apparently Williams drove himself to training so it looks like he avoided a concussion. The fact Greenwood is injured only makes Romeu’s dirty tackle even worse. It should’ve been red and now it’s caused the young lad an injury. Hopefully he’ll be fit for the Chelsea game.

Almost certain to play the 352 set up on Thursday with all of Palaces threat coming from those wide areas, Zaha on one side, Van aarnholt bombing on on the other.

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Baily Maguire Shaw/Williams/Dalot
    Pogba Fred
    Bruno
    Ighalo Martial

Allows Greenwood and Rashford a rest before Sunday

Yeah, I know, James for Greenwood isn't the most inspiring replacement, but options are limited in that department, so we'll have to make do. He will at least add raw pace to the attack, and if he can somehow rediscover his early season form then who knows.

I still think this team will be too much for a Palace side who've been struggling since the restart, and our players will want to hit back after the disappointment of Monday night. We got this.

I was thinking about ideal 11 from quality and fatigue, but not out of the box like you. 3-5-2 is perfect answer to provide even some solidity (with Dalot/Laird or whoever if needed) and offers also counter attack or control. Not sure if ighalo can work with martial, or fred or mcT.

The players have fully adapted to Ole's favored 4231 system, why revert to a system that produced inconsistent results at this stage of the season. It would be a huge risk under the circumstances.

The vociferous crowd gleefully jeering misplaced passes and wayward shots have been taken out of the equation. It's not a tricky away fixture: it is us against Palace on a football pitch.

So with our quality in attack we should win. It just depends on whether the players have mentally regrouped from the setback against Southampton.

We do need to freshen things up a bit, but I still anticipate us outclassing them in a similar manner to the jobs we did at Brighton and Villa.

    Greenwood has an ankle injury.

I wonder how he got that?
It's no wonder he's got a swollen ankle but at least it is nothing worse. Given the force of the challenge he was lucky not to be stretchered off the pitch.

Even if he hadn't picked anything up I wouldn't have played him in tomorrow's game. Give him the weekend off as well and get him back firing next week.

I'm not worried about Zaha, it's that damned van-Aanholt who always seems to shine against us.

This is the biggest game of the season, because I don't see Leicester losing against Sheffield United.

Williams will be fine, if there were any concerns about concussion he wouldn't have been allowed to drive to training the following day, just hope he doesn't wear an Alice Band to show off his battle-wound. :nervous:
I have been highly impressed with Williams.
Naturally Greenwood is getting all the plaudits. But Williams looks good. Two footed and very strong in the tackle.
    Lots of pace as well.
