I'm sure someone can lecture me that our possession numbers somehow mean we are "winning". The game I am watching looks dreadful with CP the more likely to win. I know, I know...a draw against such a massive side as Palace away is a good result.
Why do people insist on making up scenarios that they themselves can "disprove"? Such a ridiculous way to make a point.

Find three posters that are claiming that we're "winning" due to possession stats if you can.

Anyone have our 1st half prem stats this season? What do we have, like 2 goals maybe?

Not great, De Gea bailing us out as ever.

    Januzaj v Villa (29')
    Martial v Southampton (34')
    Depay v Sunderland (45')

Well we really are looking solid at the back again

    That's something

Rooney getting most of the critisim obviously but Mata and Herrera haven't contributed much either

We're bossing the midfield but that's where the team ends. We really are basically playing without a striker, Rooney dropping so deep at times.

So you're saying it's a lack of management? Got ya

Well let's hope Rooney figures out how to use this 'freedom' more effectively if he isn't going to be dropped or get any instruction from LvG.
Its a lack of discipline from players. The manager sets the playnand coaches the tactics. The players implement them.

    Its a two way street.

Really wish LVG would just try swapping Martial and Rooney around, at this point why not?
What? and risk that fat bastard whining to the press about being played out of position?

Rooney needs to play behind Martial. Sadly Memphis has gone awol and can no longer hold down that left wing spot. Maybe its time to throw on Ashley Young?

LVG does have a point about finishing. I mean, Herrera should just side foot that into the corner. No composure.

Its look like no one want to score. Lets just declare this game as draw and save some energy.

Huh, better than I thought, apologies.

Depressingly, that means our 2nd halves can't be much to shout about!

Also, Cabaye's transition into some sort of pseudo hardman is hilarious. He's a little prettyboy, and he'd about 5ft7. What is he going to do to anyone? I bet even Wilshere would have him on toast.

We need to get Martial upfront. I'm sure he would have put one of those chances away.

Why does Rooney step over that as it's coming through... Just take a touch to the side and he's around him.

Absolutely dreadful bag of shite, that half.

£50mill on Griezmann in January FFS. Lets get him in, feck cuptied in Europe. We are barely getting out of the groups anyhow and certainly arent going to win it. We have a great chance of winning the league. Lets get Antoine and start fecking scoring again. Martial, Griezmann and mata front 3 would do wonders.

This tactic to let them push us in the first 10 minutes is clearly working. They believed they can smash us, so they're attacking and there's much, much more space in the middle to counter. Doesn't happy often against us.

Today we making those risky forward passes but failing to control the ball or getting to the end of it.

Good first half as, we just need to play quicker upfront

Decent half, should be winning. Palace started well, which was to be expected. We weathered it and took control.

    A goal wins this today.

He'd come on for Mata, who's the fall guy these days

We control games very well, just need better quality attackers. Martial looks like he's a danger everytime he picks up the ball, Mata looks so much better in the middle of the pitch. Just need a danger coming from the right and a better striker.

Okay, I'll bite. I have been critical of our play since LVG arrived. These forums are filled with fans who no matter how dire we play find excuses to cover up our performances. I placed a small list of what I wholeheartedly expect to hear if this game stays level or Palace win.

I genuinely rate Ashley Young higher than Depay or Rooney, two of our theoretical front four. That can't be good like.

Rooney hasn't even been bad, the Rooney bashing on here has reached ridiculous levels. We aren't winning 3-0 at HT, must be Rooney's fault.. he's been one of our best players so far IMO

My biggest problem with LVG and his tactics at United is that the team always seems to play like they're already 3-0 up even though they aren't.

No imagination whatsoever when it comes to attacking phases, players seem far too worried about losing the ball rather than creating chances.

The other problem which really irks me is his insistence on playing Rooney when it is seemingly obvious to anybody who knows anything about football that he shouldn't be in the team.

Well it took us 34 minutes to get a single shot against Middlesborough the other day, whilst it took us 24 minutes today. We're improving - Said no one ever....

Well I am listening to radio Croydon which is naturally Palace biased and they think United weathered the initial storm and have controlled the game by slowing everything down.

Not got a stream, so am only going by commentators view. Their main comment was this is a good away performance.

Tends to go against some of the emotions on here.
