i can't say I've ben impressed with Captain Pogba so I'm hoping today he sets a better standard with the armband.

Just worried about the lack of width with Mata and Lingard on the wings, can't see Lindelof as FB helping out that much and Shaw needs a bit of work offensively.
With Lukaku out, I find it pretty useless to play on width and crosses anyway and we saw that last game.

Rooney will surely score so we're going to need 2 to win today. Can't see that happening. Just want some quality football though, can't be that arsed about results anymore.

You know how far down Blind is when Shaw plays again after having 90 mins just two days ago. Same with Darmian even if he's been injured.

Shaw must have really been working on his fitness to be able to play this many games back to back in such a short time period.

Since when did Mata become a superman? 4 games in 9 days!

Are we moving Lingard from the position he's been performing in? I prefer him on the left to the right but it still doesn't make sense to me. Mata starting off the right as well.

Sometimes it really feels like we handicap ourselves.
What do you suggest we do with the available players? Unfortunately with the amount of injuries we have options are very limited.

Matic and Herrera.....this may not go well. If all these forwards (inc Pogba) turn up it could be good but it's a huge if.

Haven't you been reading the Cafe? He's a fat slob with no drive and no faith from Jose.

We must control the midfield in this game. No excuses. Herrera, Matic, Mata and Pogba need to turn up. I'm not worried about a lack of firepower up top. The chances will come if we control the game.

    can we play like ..

    ..................................... de gea ......................................
    ....... jones ......... lindelolf ............ rojo ............ shaw .......
    ...................................... matic ......................................
    ...... herrera ................................................... pogba ......
    ....................................... Mata ......................................
    .................. Lingard ............................ Martal .................

I mean , this Everton side lacks pace which I believe Matic can handle. Pogba can play as LM which gives him ample chance to move forward and look for a killer pass to Martial. Lingard and Mata can make the link with the midfield. We need our defenders to stay sharp on their feet and intercept through balls.

Hope we start our year with a victory.

Well, you have any other options ?
Yeah sure. 352 with Lingard in behind Martial and Rashford? All three in their best spots. Or play with three in midfield but have Mkhi/Rashford on the right as opposed to not bothering with a right hand side at all?

We can point to player x being out of form but they're all out of form. You've still got to give each player the best chance to perform which means picking a system that suits the majority.

I still think we could get a result but that set up doesn't help.

And the wingbacks ? Can Lindelof play as a RWB going back and forth the line ?

Why is Tuanzebe on the bench instead of McTominay? F… crazy!

    I still think that is a 4-2-3-1

    DDG
    Lindelof, Jones, Rojo, Shaw
    Matic, Herrera
    Mata, Pogba, Lingard
    Martial

I'm expecting injuries to Shaw and Mata anytime now.

Maybe the report about him being one of the fittest players at the club was true.
Didn't see that but I hope so. It's a cliche at this stage but he really did have immense potential when we signed him. Not shown it for us bar that isolated 5-8 game period, but he was excellent for Southampton and even for England.

He's getting chances now, and you can only applaud his mentality to get back into the squad after such a long time in the wilderness.

Lindelof as a wingback would be a disaster.

Definitely as Lindelof at RB is a bit of a disaster.

Only positive I see is that Everton don't have a whole lot of pace. Bolasie is their best outlet in that regard.

With Mata in front of him are we not asking him to do that anyway?

If not where do you think our threat from the right will come from?

Our bench is beyond dreadful, attacking wise.

Pogba would play that role a lot differently to other other typical 10s. Even if it is a 4-2-3-1 we can hope for more link up with the midfield.

I think he has been poor when he has played as a number 10 for us before.

His best position, as we all know is the left of a midfield 3.
