    It won't happen but I'd quite like to see a 442 with Rashford and Martial up top, Memphis left and Young on the right.

    Looking forward to seeing Smalling, the centre mids and wingers staking their claims for a starting spot in the first XI.

    Travelling squad:

    De Gea, Romero, Johnstone;
    Darmian, Bailly, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Smalling;
    Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Mata, Memphis, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young;
    Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford.

    Jones and Mkhitaryan injured
    Thanks very much. Looks like this could be the end of the line for Jones, another injury, not looking good.

    I really hope our wide players perform well.

    All of them seem out of form at the moment.

    I think it'll be:

    Romero
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Rojo
    Schneiderlin--Herrera
    Memphis--Mata--Martial
    Rashford

    This back line is a tough one.

    Darmian - Bailly - Blind - Rojo
    Bailly - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    Darmian - Bailly - Smalling - Blind

    Smalling - Bailly - Blind - Rojo (this stands out the most to me)

    I hope Jose uses this opportunity to play a midfield of Schneiderlin - Herrera - and Pogba with Rooney sat at home on the couch. Mata and Martial on the wings. Give Rashford the start up top.

    Subs: Zlatan, Memphis, and Carrick.

    Im actually really looking forward to this game and hoping we put in a great performance and score lots of goals. Hoping to see a 433 with Pogba and Depay starting. Hope Rashford bangs in a few to get him reved up for the weekend

    Not sure what to make of this match. I think it really all depends on how Mourinho and the players view this competition. I hope we take the Europa League seriously as it's still a trophy and even though the prestige is not as glamorous as the Champions League, I believe that this is the one trophy we haven't win and it will be nice to add it to our collection.

    I think this is a pretty good guess. That backline is the most likely for sure. I do think it's likely Jose will play either Pogba or Ibra, though.

    I think we'll still see De Gea and possibly Pogba start. We'll play a second rate team but Jose will want to win this. Wouldn't be surprised if he tries out a 4-3-3 too, I mean we obviously played better like that vs City.

    Zlatan will surely get a break.
    Yeah, you'd think so. That he traveled is perhaps more Jose being cautious of needing to introduce him in case it all goes wrong. Pogba might start, though. Jose does like consistency in his team selection, so whilst I think he'll make wholesale changes for this game, depending on how seriously we're going to take this competition, I do think it's also likely that we'll see a few regular starters.

    The players on Wednesday afternoon's flight to the Netherlands are as follows:

    De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Darmian, Bailly, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Smalling; Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Mata, Memphis, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford.
    Feyenoord are currently a very good team but i'm still surprised that Ibrahimovic, Pogba and De Gea are in the squad.

    I havent got a clue how will start. Will we go with 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. I guess it will be something like DDG-Rojo, Bailly, Smalling, Darmian-Morgan, Herrera-Martial, Mata, Memphis-Rashford.

    Would like to see this, with the front three interchanging and Pogba being the most advanced midfielder. Depay should enjoy being back home and hopefully get the chance to prove he is above the Dutch league level because as of yet he hasnt really shown that he is.

    However I think if we pick a weaker team than this and play with less pace, I feel we may lose this one.

    --------De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Bailly Blind
    -----Morgan Herrera
    -Martial---Pogba---Depay
    ---------Rashford

    Zlatan, Fellaini, Fosu-M, Carrick, Young, Rojo, Romero

    2-1 win or 1-2 loss.

    Blind is a very capable LB

    Darmian Baily Smalling Blind
    TFM
    Harrera Pogba
    Rashford Memphis
    Martial

    Zlatan on the Bench. This team would make me forget the Derby feckups.

    I'm surprised people are putting the likes of Pogba, Bailly and Blind in their teams. They were shattered at full time in the derby so it would be risky playing them here. I think we need to play a team full of squad players in this competition as it's the one advantage we have over City, who will always play their first 11 in the CL.

    We dont need to be losing this game straight after the derby, as long as Zlatan and fat Rooney get rested we should be ok, Shaw and Valencia are at home plus Fellaini and Mata should also get a rest but I think we are fine to give the others mentioned 60-70 mins. The likes of Rojo are shite, Jones is obviously injured again and Fosu may be a bit raw to throw straight into the mix. As for Pogba he had very little preseason so he should start this game and this should be the type of team he can dominate and show why he is so highly regarded. Watford will not be an easy game but I would rather we go into that one off a good result and I think if we drop too many players we will lose tonight.

    Probably just a question of numbers more than anything. Our first team squad isn't all that big and aren't there rules about home trained and that sort of stuff?

    Jose quoted TFM and Darmian as alternatives for Valencia, so I guess it will be one of them.

    Jose stated that the decision to take a good squad is because he wants to send a message to the players not to take this competition lightly. I think he wants to win the first 3 games and then rotate as much as possible.

    I think... Based on the team that travelled. 3-0 fairly comfortable.

    What have City got to do with this ?.
    We need to play a strong side, not a half arsed squad team , it is an comp that we have never won.
    I dont think we should play a full team but it need to be better than just a squad team.
