Exciting game. We look a bit shaky at the back though especially Rojo. Can't wait for the second half.
Di Maria well what can you say.

Something i've noticed is when one of our new signings is on the ball they try to pass it forward even if its only for a 1-2. However, the likes of Rooney, RvP, Smalling still look for that easy ball.

Good going forward. I'd like to throw on Shaw for Blackett but I fear we may need both Mata and Januzaj at some point next half.

Di Maria is exceptional. Van Persie better. Rooney is just Rooney; moments of class and lots of dodgy touches. Herrera has been very good. Falcao has been poor, assist aside.

Hmmm, first 10 minutes aside (where we looked like we would score with every attack) we've been pretty poor. The defence looks a mess, Evans was terrible, Rojo looks shaky, Blind is having a shocker, and Falcao looks pretty average.

On a positive, Blackett has been fantastic, Di Maria and Rooney very good, and RVP has finally got his goal.

Falcao doesn't have his touch yet. RVP is sorta in the game but still doesn't provide enough for me. Rooney has been quite good. ADM..well, what else can you say. Pure class. Rojo has been awful. Evans was awful and now injured AGAIN. Blackett has been solid. Rafael ok. Blind has been pretty good but not winning enough balls this game in the middle. Same with Herrera. It seems that we are indeed more likely to win games 4-3 with our defense. Look confident on the ball going forward though so its nice to see. I fear we could still get hit for a lot against the top teams.

Di Maria with a serious contender to goal of the season. Absolutely fantastic.

    Falcao's cross was amazing too.

That goal really fecked us up. We looked like scoring every time we had the ball before that. Hope LvG gives them a stern talking to at half time, that was a very poor second part of the first half.

Blackett carrying the defence on his back. Rooney the weakest link in attack. Falcao taking baby steps, but you can see he'll get much better. RvP stepping it up. Di Maria is fecking surreal, Ballon D'or candidate.

Leicester has the defence of a top 6 team ffs.
Bit harsh on Rooney, he's surprised me today, much better than expected. I think he's thriving having quality around him.

    Defence still looks 'get-at-able'.

But generally happy with that. Superb cross from Falcao for the first, and the link-up and finish for the second...

edit/ also Blind looks like the sort of player who will always give a 7/10 performances, nothing spectacular but vital for the team.

    Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Blind's looking like he's going to be a key player - doing really well. Di Maria looks like he's enjoying his work, with any luck he'll get De Laet sent off in the second half.

Blackett looking young and inexperienced, but as if he can be become so good.

Special mention for Di Maria. He's a beautiful player, I'm glad we made that 'luxury buy'.

And Blackett. He has been a beast, has been playing like he's been 10 years at the club.

If we can score a quick goal I can see Leicesters spirit being broken.

Blind is so intelligent in his play

Herrera needs to start beating a man when he reeives the ball in the middle to create some space for others

    Falcao needs a goal

I see a lot of flack for Rojo, but I stated before is this any different than we we play Smalling or Jones as a RB? They just are not positionally aware for that system.

Honestly, Di Maria took my breath away with that goal.
Although RVP scored, I still believe he should be the one who gets dropped.
Falcao Looks sharp. Ander is fast becoming my favorite player.
Ulloa goal isn't bad defending imo, usually 9/10 a header from that far out isn't going in the net but It was a world class header. Great Half.

Rooney can't really play with his back to goal, lacks the mobility. I prefer Mata as a number 10.

Even a half fit Falcao gets involved in the play a lot more than Van Persie, Mate for Van Persie please.

Hopefully just you. Blackett has made some last ditch challenges but his positioning has been nothing short of disgraceful. Not all his fault, Evans' was just as bad for his part.
Is it because he rushed out of the defensive line you think his positioning is a problem? Because I was watching a discussion between Gary and Jamie where it seemed to me that in Britain there's an obsession over center backs holding their defensive line. Gary thought that best defenders from continental Europe(Baresi, Carvalho etc.) have a tradition to rush out like that, and they live just fine.

i don't get that some ppl are getting a go at blackett, clearly our best defender on the pitch atm
If you gotta clean up the sh*t of Rojo and Blind for 45 mins, you are not gonna look that reliable.

I'm impressed by the play of Blackett and Di Maria. RvP, Rojo, Evans and blind not so much

He's definitely enjoying himself on the pitch, something we haven't seen for a while now.

Brilliant attacking football and it's great to be so entertaining again. However, I thought Evans very poor as usual allowing that goal from Leicester. I know Rafael was at fault too but Evans just in no mans land as usual. Add that to the fact he can't even stay fit. I doubt he keeps his place in the squad and I think Smalling, jones, rojo and Blackett are all better. Only thing Evans has is experience but that's done feck all for him his entire career. Not good enough.

Hopefully we can score one more to put this to bed because our defence looks a bit shaky at times.

Our defence is all over the place. We have the players that can change a match in a second, so on our day we could beat anyone, but it's the frailties in our back line that mean aiming for anything higher than CL football is unrealistic at this stage. There were times when Leicester were pinging the ball diagonally across our defence and we just had no shape in our back line.

Basically, we have a defence of followers, not organisers. So our defenders are running to put out fires, rather than organising things so the fires don't start in the first place.

Also, how furiously was Giggs chewing that gum?

Oh, and I cannot end a post without paying tribute to that beautiful goal from Di Maria. Not only the finish, but picking the ball up in CM and running with it.

Would have taken this HT score at kick off. We are mint going forward and we know where else we need to strengthen. Hugely exciting watching this team, that barely knows each other, start to click. Strootman and at least one CB and we will be frightening.

We'll score at least 2 more I reckon.

van Persie has been quiet apart from the goal and Blind is getting caught under some of Leicester's long balls.

However, midfield is a bit out of sync, would like to see LvG take RvP off and strengthen the midfield with Rooney behind Falcao

Great game. We look like scoring as much as conceding. Defensively it's really not good. Shaw for Rojo....

SSN continuing with their 'utd defence in disarray' narrative. So boring. When was the last time we had a settled back 4? So short sighted. Having said that Rojo and Evans had a poor first half. Think Shaw will see some minutes at LB today.

Fair play to Blackett. He's basically come in and told Van Gaal "don't you dare drop me." And he wont, he's been brilliant.
