Keeping Liverpool 0-0 to HT at Anfield is far from the worst we’ve played in years.
    Totall agree.

There are games and results that people should rightly complain about, this isn’t one of them.

People are complaining about our central midfield but This is what we have available, we can’t sub on imaginary better players.

Under the circumstances I don’t see how anybody could expect better

Has completed 8, made 1 tackles, 2 clearances, 2 dribbles, won 3 aerials. Criticize him, but don't flat out lie.
There are haters everywhere. He need to be better on the ball but him, Mainoo and Amrabat are doing good defensive work.

What’s he supposed to do when we haven’t got any players who can pass him the ball ffs.
Exactly. How to blame him when our midfields and wingers couldnt even get a simple pass to him. Mctominay breaking down alll our counter attacks and couldnt even do a simple pass

Outball is completely dependent on McTominay taking a touch and getting his head up, and he doesn’t have the ability

This has gone exactly as expected. We are weak physically and technically in every area of the pitch. Without Bruno we have zero out balls. Dalot and Antony look like they've never played together. Only bright spot is our CBs and Mainoo. If McT had half the ability Mainoo has, we'd be able to actually launch some counters. Our recruitment has been truly abysmal.

The worry is that Pool will get one chance that falls their way off of someone's backside or one of our DMs will get sent off. Our best chance is maybe one of their players make a mistake and we get something due to their high line. Today's a purely route one football exercise. It's a shame but it's where we are right now.

These stats are harsh against McT in isolation. Amrabat has completed 8 passes and lost possession 9 times. Mainoo has completed 8 passes and lost possession 3 times.

McT has also had more touches than both.

Scoreline about as good as anyone could hope.
Both centre mids on bookings is worrying with next to nothing on the bench to replace either.
Amrabat seems to be on a masterclass of how not to do anything right.

    Conceding tonnes of corners.

Could it be one of those weird games where we offer nothing but pinch a winner?

So were both the yellows for Mainoo and Amrabat. The guy who got the yellow handled the ball in the box, so he's already got away with one this half.
Again, what relevance does this have to Jaime Charrager saying the endo yellow is harsh, after saying the Mainoo yellow was harsh in the same sentence?

Amrabat yellow wasn't harsh in my opinion, gave two dumbass fouls on diaz when he was running into our final third.

2023 and we still can't put out a functional midfield and McTominay is still here.

Hojlund has contributed nothing and should probably be taken off at HT, put Rashford on instead as at least he'll cause the Liverpool defence some problems.

Liverpool look crap yet have 66% possession and 15 shots. We’ve had 1 touch in their box.

Wont get anywhere relying on McTominay and Antony. I like Garnacho but he’s another who constantly loses the ball.

Pleased to get in level. We worked hard to keep our shape. Full credit. Problem is we have sacrificed any attacking threat in order to maintain that defensive shape.

Still, the guys have to be feeling the great escape is possible. Liverpool’s midfield is not impressive. Gravenberch, Szoszoblai, Tsimikas, Endo, just not seeing it.

Shaw doing very well to shut down Salah, who needs a good shearing. Back 4 doing well. Mainoo really impressing. Amrabat keeps getting put on his heels and then losing his man. McT hasn’t hardly touched the ball, so I’m waiting for his game winner.

Hate to say it but I think Rashford could make a difference if he comes on. Need that player who’ll run with the ball and do something out of nothing. Garnacho is just getting bullied with physicality.
I agree. Maybe Rashford is ready to play again.

Insane that we gave him a 5 year contract. We bought him 5 years ago for 20m as a highly rated prospect, and it hasn’t worked. He should be moved on, hopefully for a profit. Yet we continue to reward mediocrity.
Agreed. Surely a PL club would be interested in him, or even a Serie A/La Liga team. Replace him with Frimpong or another attacking-minded right back, and our play will improve drastically.

Then she sucks on my balls
Fully expecting ten Hag to say Utd played well in the first half. If so he deserves the sack. Liverpool have been poor by their standards but still a different class from us. Perhaps if we stopped passing to red shirts we would relieve some of the pressure, but that won’t happen with this team.
We've been shocking on the ball and I doubt we can hold on second half playing same way offering no threat at all and no retention in midfield I feel sorry for hojlund the most gets nothing in games like this should be hooking Scott off and Amrabat.

What is he supposed to do?
I don't know, maybe regain possession in our own third, dribble half of Liverpool players and cross to himself? Is that too much to expect?

We have defended well against a poor liverpool attack. Going forward we have been shocking. No composure, passing all over the place.
1 touch in the liverpool box in 45 minutes tells the story.

It’s like we play every match without a midfield.. I don’t get it
I’m pretty sure Klopp will realise that Scott is the only out-ball for when we play it out wide and take advantage of this. Hes our out-ball bar an overlapping FB and it’s why we give the ball away the and time again. Theres no need for AA to get back on Garnacho and there’s no reason why they aren’t permanent planting him 10 yards from our goal.
We can’t play a pass and it’s because of the midfield. If someone showed me a video of this when we signed Ten Hag then I’d call them a liar.
