As much as I know this could be a grind, I am confident and looking forward to tonight. Apparently Atalanta have 5 first teamers out, is that just tabloid sensationalism or are they properly screwed?

Atalanta centre-back Rafael Toloi is like to be out with a thigh problem after being taken off against Empoli on Sunday. Matteo Pessina, Robin Gosens, Hans Hateboer and Berat Djimsiti are also set to be sidelined for the Italian club.

So not ideal for them, but they have depth enough to come all guns blazing.

Nah, I've seen two games with Atalanta this season and wasn't impressed at all. Then again I'm not impressed with us either.
I thought the same about Leicester before we played them.

What do we think the line-up will be tonight guys? Will we go to a back 5?

I hope he will play DvdB ahead of Fred and Scott. Bench Pogba and Bruno to let them 'rest'. Donny in an advanced role flanked by Rashford and Lingard could be good. Especially if Cavani is up top.

    DDG
    AWB ------- LINDELÖF ------- BAILLY --------- SHAW

    FRED ----------- SCOTT
    DONNY

    LINGARD ------------------------------------ RASHY
    CAVANI

Bench: Henderson, Pogba, Bruno, Ronaldo, Martial, Greenwood, Sancho, Maguire, Telles, Mata

Think that would be a mistake, I'd rather see us remove our number 10 (just for this game) and play three central midfielders to handle their pressing.. Gasperinis tactics remind me of Bielsa with Leeds and you know what we did to them. But let"s see how Ole reacts to our last match.

A little worried about this one. We've been absolute shite at home, and for all the comparisons, I don't think Atalanta are as mindlessly attacking obsessed as Leeds.

Come on United! Let's win this and then beat Liverpool. I believe in miracles and turnarounds.

Well I've just tried this on FIFA and destroyed Atalanta 3-0, therefore I'm 100% sure it'll work in real life:

    De Gea
    Bailly Maguire Lindelof
Sancho Van de Beek Pogba Shaw
    Fernandes
    Ronaldo Rashford

    ;)

But yeah we'll have to wait and see. There's rumours of some sort of drastic tactial/formation change.

Why is everyone leaving Pogba out of the lineup?
Will never happen Donny starter (considered by Ole the worst player in the squad) and Bruno and Pogba benched in the most important game of the season

And the why not Jones as a starter as well?

Not really. There are games we have started well in the first 10 mins and played crap for the rest of the game. Then there are games we have started crap in the first 10 mins and stayed crap all game.

I actually think we win tonight in a scrappy game. Atalanta have a few players missing.
They have other players of the same level

You will see tonight maehle looking like overmars and zappacosta looking like figo

The matter is cm, they play with 4 quantity cm (freuler, de roon, malinovsky, pasalic), united with Matic-Pogba, McFred?

They have the complete control of the midfield

Should I stay up until 2am to watch this game? Probably, but if we get a spanking tonight not sure how many more times I can do it!

I want to see Utd fired up for the game tonight. If Utd start well without scoring then get sucker punched I will be packing Ole's bags for him.

My prediction is 1-4 (Rashford, Muriel, Zapata, Ilicic, Koopmeiners)

Why do United will suffer 4 goals?

No balanced team, in the mid, will be McTominay-Pogba against de roon- freuler-pasalic-malinovsky (2 against 4)

This might be very similar to the Villareal game. Atalanta getting chance after chance but failing to capitalize, then a moment of brilliance out of nothing from one of ours to edge out an undeserving win.

It's really boring aint it mate. Every now and then you get a poster threatening not to watch it as if they are doing the club a favour when they tune in.

Utd are playing tonight, I'm looking forward to it.

Don’t know what to expect tonight. I really want to give Donny an opportunity due to the form of our other midfielders right now but I can’t see that happening. It’ll probably be a McTominay-Matic midfield.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Bailly - Shaw

    McTominay - Matic

    Greenwood - Lingard - Rashford

    Ronaldo

subs: Henderson, Dalot, Maguire, Van De Beek, Pogba, Fred, Sancho, Fernandes, Cavani

Score Prediction: Manchester United 3-2 Atalanta

I expect Ole to play the usual 4231 with McFred. Pogba might be dropped in favour of Rashford. Greenwood on the right. First of 2 huge games for Utd. Tonight is a must win really.
Tonight is a must win but if we win tonight and lose on Sunday he should be sacked anyway.

Can't go 4 Prem games without a win.

Looking forward to this. Stakes a pretty high, both for the team and for Ole.

A loss here and a loss against Liverpool and I imagine Ole is gone.

Hopefully we wake up, we tend to perform when we have to.

His form hasn't been the best and he seems the most likely target if Ole wants to make a statement and drop someone. He won't drop Ronaldo or Bruno.

Surely even a win here and loss versus Liverpool should see him gone.

He's a charlatan. Turns up every now and again, when he feels like it. Thinks tackling and defending is beneath him.

Not to mention he is running his contract down to leave in summer. He couldn't care less about United and it winds me up that he still gets a game.

Ole really meant it when he said we are going to look into everything we can change. Poor Atlanta players.

Is this some unwritten Man Utd law im unaware of?
    No it's my opinion.

If you can't beat the bad teams you have to be expected to beat the good ones.

Oles been cut a lot slack and things need to get better from now.

Not from after the hard run of games is over!

Nearly every stat you look at for us makes for worrying times ahead.

    1 clean sheet in 19.
Something like 8 Wins in last 19.

    These are abysmal.

Sure it's a tough ask to Beat Liverpool but when you can't beat Everton Southampton, Villa etc it's just how it is.

    Obviously.

My point being, when we have started slowly lately, we normally coast through the game and make it difficult when it doesn't need to be.
