People saying drop Onana just don’t live in reality. We don’t have a good No2 for one but think of the message it sends.

We want to play out from the back. 1st passing clanger (not even in the PL). Dropped.
    Maybe no2 is ace

It's difficult to pick a side which would give me any confidence for the win tbh.

United haven't won a midfield battle all season (dominating the Palace B team doesn't count) so you have to start there.

But they are problems all over the pitch...just a big mess.

I’d drop Bruno, rashford & onana to send a message but that would require cojones. Casemiro needs someone like Amrabat next to him. Have we any left back left that could play? Is that fernandes chap still around ?

unfortunately think you just have to bring in harry due to our defensive woes. Id go with
    -------Hojlund-------
    Garn---mount---rashford
    -------Amr---Case------
Dalot-Mag-Varane-Lindelof (yuck ass back line but whatever)
-------Onana----- (not that he deserves it, but our backup options are shit).

What has Maguire all of a sudden done to warrant a place more than Evans? (motm performance last time he played)
Yes Evans should be chosen before Maguire.

I don't see Onana getting dropped, Last season after the goals DeGea was conceding against the likes of West Ham and Sevilla which was the main reason for losing and he wasn't dropped.

I think we are going to breeze past them with a 2-0 victory, with all the sorrows drowning, albeit temporarily, till we meet the mighty Champions on the 29th of this month!

I think it's tough to drop Onana because he's clearly going through a confidence crisis and Bayandir is also... not very good. However Bruno should without a doubt be dropped, as should Casemiro. Lindelof shouldn't start either unless it's at RB.

But of course most likely none of these will happen and I'll have to watch Bruno/Case chaos ball yet again.

You can't be giving the hard talk with the easy targets in the team and then ignoring the big failings in others. Talking about standards will soon fall on deaf ears if he can't live up to his own. I'd 100% drop them all if they are not performing. That CL performance was unforgivable.

I would go with something like

    Onana
    Lindelof Varane Maguire Dalot
    Casemerio Amrabat
    Mount Bruno Rashford
    Hojlund
We need a shake up defensivley but there were signs Wednesday night that our attack is beginning to click into gear. The one I'm most worried about is Bruno at the moment he's really struggling but i think I would still start him for now. Putting Casemerio and Amrabat into midfield and putting actual defenders into defensive will hopefully solidify our defensive troubles.

Spot on that. That’s the 11 I’d go for.

While I have no confidence in winning any game at the moment, Brentford are missing their best player and even in our Rangnick era, we beat them at home.

    So I'm going for 1-1.

He's not. His old team's fans didn't rate him IIRC.

We are missing more than just one player unfortunately, key players missing for this one and a goalie just bedding into the team.

We cannot lose again at home to fecking "brentford." Never even heard of that city until they came up from the dregs of the championship.

Yeah but midfield is the one place we're actually OK, so we can spare Case for the defence where we're threadbare.

Sit back and hit them on the break, it's time we accept that's our best chance of getting results.

Tells us about it, is the Brentford fan base a bit more patient while he beds in?
In a word no  we are all football fans though right, you know how it is some willing to give him time others want him binned ASAP

For the record I’ll give him some time as have seen enough to think he will come good.

Hmm. Can we get an early goal? Can we play Amrabat alongside Casimero? Can we look really organised and not have them running through the heart of our team?

I actually have a feeling, a feeling, that we will be ok tomorrow. Hope I'm right.

I'll go against all the typical negativity and go for a comfortable two nil win.

Please tell me how Lindelof would be any good as a RB in the Premier League?
He is as slow as a wet week and as passive as feck!

We must try and make it tough for Brentford at OT, keep the score down to 0-1.

We really need to start playing with more compactness.
There is always way too much space between our defence and midfield, and our offensive players can’t be bothered dropping back in defensive situations, which costs us a lot.
Lets hope Ten Hag will make some adjustments to fix our leaky defence

I wonder if Case might be rested and Amrabat moved to no6 with a view to preparing for Copenhagen. Case can always come in after 60mins. Saying that, we could go the other way and sub Case off after 60 and give Amrabat 30 mins as lone 6.

My other wishes for this game are Hannibal as one of the high 8s and Rashford at RW, see if he can grow into that position.
    That seems fair enough.
Except for Rashford on the right. It has been tried and was not particularly successful.
The point about the modern game is that players should not be tied to a fixed position. But allowed to move about as the flow of the game dictates.
He has all the ability. But is nothing like ruthless enough or hard working enough.
It is so frustrating to see him just walking around instead of getting into the game more.
If he wants to walk around so much then he should be dropped and see how he likes that.

ETH is never dropping Onana, Bruno or Rashford. Wont happen Much as we may like it to.
Hopefully we play square pegs in square holes. A loss here is unthinkable. But the pressure is on.

This game could prove to be the beginning of the end for Ten Hag. Brentford’s position on the table isn’t indicative of their performances, as they have been quite unlucky. They are not pushovers and could easily slap us on our own turf… and they are due a win. If the manager values his job whatsoever, or has any clue what he is doing, he will drop Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Andre Onana. No more Player FC. Also, bring a definitive end to the Casemiro – Bruno – Mount midfield, and end the experiment in the LB position.

Naturally, I don’t think any of this is going to happen, which is why I will be checking out of this one.

Fully expecting a loss. This team is just fundamentally broken, mentally and physically, and it might be beyond his ability to fix.

I’m not averse to “resting” him. But he showed potential as an actual winger who crosses with his right for our new found CF. Would like to see him work harder but he could learn to be effective playing mostly from the right and interchanging with the other forwards.

Just play to our strength, no more midfield build up play, we are shit on that anyway, just counter attack them.

We sit back, we invite them to attack, we put more players on defend and then we counter them on the break. Bruno, Rashford and Hojlund will win us this game when we have enough chances on the break. Let’s show them the best of individual football.
