    Know The Opposition

Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion) are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rival with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

This is where our unbeaten home run ends. The perfect warm up for a pasting by Bayern a few days later.

Just pray Martinez and Lindelof are back.

Brighton followed up by Bayern Munich away. Feck me, that’s a rough restart following the international break.

Don’t care if we have to shithouse a win, 3 points is a must in this game. Can seriously see a grim atmosphere settling around the club if we lose those next two games.

Depends who we can actually play in defence.

Must win although unfortunately I don’t think we will. Being on a 3 game losing streak and then going to Burnley away. The pressure on the manager will be huge.

Hope I’m wrong and we get the 3 points but I am very worried. We don’t seem like a team that can draw either. Potentially 5 loses in 7 games.

Amrabat and Hojlund starting and you never know we could be a completely different team. However no players can make up for a Maguire and Evans partnership.

They've scored the most goals in the league, more than City if you can believe it. So we're in trouble in that regard.

I don't necessarily think they'll win this running away, but it's going to take something special out of us to get a result. I don't even think it matters which of our players are available and which aren't.

I could see 2-2 or 2-1 to them. A result would be great for morale because we're getting blitzkrieged in Germany after this.

Thank feck it's after the international break. Hopefully some knocks are back. Can bring Amrabat in, probably won't start given he'll be away and won't train much with us before this game but good to have on the bench. Hojlund certainly will start you'd think.

    Rashford Hojlund Antony
    Eriksen Casemiro Bruno
    Dalot Martinez Lindelof Wan Bissaka
    Onana

We're pretty well equipped to play big games now I think. Hopefully Hojlund is good to play repeated games too as this will likely need to be the starting 11 for both Brighton and Bayern. Probably would put Amrabat in for Eriksen for the Bayern one, but it's early for him so not sure if Ten Hag will do it. Otherwise this is the team until Mount, Shaw and Varane come back. Garnacho impact sub.

Yikes. Didn't realize Brighton is next. It will be embarrassing if we get out footballed by Brighton by a lot.

ETH was bought in to improve our footballing aesthetic, but their is only a slight difference between Ole football and ETH football. Of course, I enjoy ETH much more, but we should be playing better football and seeing better performances like we are seeing at Chelsea, Brighton and Tottenham. If all we see is just result, we will always get find out by better teams.

    For this game,

    Onana
    AWB - Martinez - Maguire - linderloff
    Casemiro - Amarabat
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Hojlund

Teams that often plays good football like Brighton, they can be countered easily like we saw at west ham. So, if we can't outfootball them, we may as well keep low block and counter with the pace we have.

Hoping our home form pulls us through this. On the plus side we should see Hojlund start and hopefully Amrabat.

The problem is we can’t even counter attack anymore… think ETH has took that trait out of the team. If we can’t score in build up play then we won’t be able to score at all. We’re limited to how we can actually score… set pieces is a no go since we’re awful at them.

I think we still can, but we are not as effective in this approach as we were when we had Ole. The goal against Arsenal today with rashford was a counter and so was the one with garnacho. The problem, is that I don't know if we are as organized or structured enough to actually play an effective low block like west ham does.

When we finally get our attack and midfield sorted we then have problems in defence  You couldn’t write it. I think with a fully fit 11 then we’ll look completed different.

We’re not as effective at it though. If we get tackled high up the pitch then we’re easy to get countered in as our defence is always wide open.

How long are Martinez and Lindelof out for? I pray for us if we are starting Maguire and Evans for this game. We will be in for a pasting.

Went well against this lot last time around.
Only home league defeat for United under Ten Hag which was his first home game. Regardless of what happens here 31 games unbeaten in all competitions at home and in the last 20 Old Trafford games in the league getting 54 points out of a possible 60 has been a Ferguson like home form.

That means very little when we are dead certain to lose against anyone half decent away from home. And EL opposition and lucky home draws in the cups to gloss over this stat won’t continue forever.

Means very little? the Home form played a huge role in finishing 3rd in the league last season only Man City gained more points at home last season.

The season before Ten Hag arrived United were knocked out of the two domestic cup competitions by West Ham and Middlesbrough in so called "lucky home draws"

They're a better team and will outplay us. We simply have to hope for one moment of individual excellence and we might win

You can bet your house Sancho will start this game, look dynamic and both him and ETH will act like nothing has happened, just to send the message.
Hopefully we drop Martial and Antony (I have no idea how he looks on training but if he looks better than Sancho and gets the nod then something is seriously wrong with Jadon), and both Garnacho and Hojlund start.

That's how I think we'll line up against you if we have no new injuries. It should be a good game.

Lets hope we get Linde and Licha back for this. If its Maguire and Evans we could be beaten by a tennis score.
I think Bruno and Antony could do with a bit of bench time.

Maguire-Evans partnership cost us dearly yesterday. They'll be ripped to shreds by Brighton, so hopefully we can get some CBs fit for this.

Doesn't make much of a difference against which opponent we play now, with those injuries we can lose against any team in EPL.
