Two weeks ago we were favorites to beat them with Mourinho putting the final nail in Conte's coffin. Now all of a sudden it feels like they are the favorites.

We need a big response this weekend. Anything other than a win would be awful.

They have all the momentum after doing well against Barca, they also have had an extra day's rest. Hazard looks in top form along with willian. Think this will be very tough.

We will loose this one. Hazard, Willian and Kante will destroy us as we won't be able to have a single shot at Courtois.

Chelsea showed this midweek that they are currently better than us.

I don't really see how we can be confident.

Valencia and Young are not attacking anymore.
    Pogba is out of confidence.
Martial will probably play on the right
Sanchez is not fitting well with the team

    Too many bad things....

    Hope for a 4-3-3

Conte will want to rub it in as deep as possible. Mou will land a Dreamliner in front of DDG. Hope we do not leak any goals. Another mad celebration by Conte will get under Jose's skin once and forever.

Hard to disagree with this really. It will be another big game where our players just completely fail to turn up. Our weakened out of form/confidence midfield will be ran ragged by Chelsea's.

Hate to be a doom monger, but its just how i feel about this team at the moment, absolutely no mental fortitude when things get a bit tough.

Have no confidence we will get anything from this match. Hopefully will be proven wrong.

We simply have to win. Anything else is a bad result as far as I'm concerned.
The lady wants us to go out this weekend. Think I'm going to move it to Sunday.

Dont take her out Sunday. We are playing Sunday! Unless of course you want to avoid the match.

    Precisely.
Haven't said that, don't think I have the balls.
My mind won't be with her and she'll notice.

I think we'll turn up at home against Chelsea. Think we'll approach this game at home very differently and Jose will have Pogba and the rest of the team fired up against Conte's Chelsea...

I seem to recall at a similar period last season, coming off dismal draws against Everton/West B, we took the game to Chel in opening 45 min and just blowing them away with high intensity football. I'd love to be proven wrong, but sadly this time we really have retreated into a shocking pattern of nothing football. The biggest fallacy being that we are playing 'defensive' football; no team playing defensive football gives up 30 attempts on goal to an opposition! What we are playing is non-football, neither defensive nor attacking. The smaller details such as corners, free kicks and crossing are so woefully poor you really have to question whether any work is being done in training to improve this aspect of our play at all.

Being at home should make a big difference. Fully expect back five to be wheeled out to match up.

    ..................... DDG
    Valencia Lindelöf Smalling Bailly Young
    .................. Pogba Matic
    ................ Lingard Sanchez
    .................... Lukaku

Could see Blind coming in for one of Bailly or Lindelöf to provide a left footer at the back.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Lindelöf - Bailly - Shaw
    Matić
    McTominay - Pogba
    Alexis - Lukaku - Martial

I'd like to see this, maybe with a different set of CBs. Never going to happen though.

Keep the same midfield that finished the game against Sevilla. Move Sanchez to the right with Martial on the left. Of course Mourinho won't do this.

Play Pogba in midfield 3 with Matic and McTominay, but in 3-5-2. Bailly, Lindelof, Jones at the back.

Get Sanchez upfront alongside Lukaku. Tired of seeing him fully isolated and with no one in 40 yards near him. And, I don't know, be aggressive. Win this and we go 6 points clear of them and they have City away next. Someone's season is about to break.

This is how I would line up. Torn between Carrick and Matic but I think Matic has been poor recently especially with his forward passes from deep positions. I think with this formation we can have bodies in the middle and a front three that can interchange.

Would love to see that. If not, then a 352. Poor Matic.

Chelsea have not been great lately and we beat them fair and square at Old Trafford last year so I am quite positive about this one. Think it'll be 2-0 or 3-0 to us.

I'd like to see some actual football. Chances, good passing, pace...

oh who am I kidding. It's going to be a scrappy borefest, probably decided by some deflection. Hopefully in our favour at least.

Yeah....no, I have absolutely no hope for this. Conte will be wary of how Jose outwitted him last season, and even if he wasn't, I am not sure we are in any shape to replicate last season's performance considering the shambles we are all over the pitch.

It is going to take some massive game raising and a proper mentality to overcome current struggles and start resembling a football team. Only silver lining is that it is a home game, so perhaps we may regain some form and beat Chelsea somehow, remains to be seen.

Well, we were a shambles all over the pitch last season as well. That performance against Chelsea came pretty much out of the blue after a tedious away draw in Europe.
