Surely his technique and first touch is being exaggerated on here. And he's young enough to improve both quite a bit.
Of course! Who wants another Lukaku? I was just being facetious.

Win is a win but lack of creativity in the midfield is a major concern. Everything is just so slow and boring.

Mata is so content with his life here and that is scary. He should be off this summer.
Woody has a fat new contract waiting for him. Maybe along with Rojo and Jones. Not sure when they expire, but what the heck, just sign them up again.

    Jones gone in the Summer?
I really do think so. For the knocks that Ole gets, he doesn't stick with players through the worst when they're showing no signs of improvement unlike what LvG did with Rooney, Mourinho with Matic etc which contributed to their downfalls. I've got no doubt in my mind that the Lingard/Pereira position in the team will be replaced as soon as possible, whether that be through Pogba returning or, in the event that he really is gone, by an external purchase.

Any manager now would instruct players to take it slow once they have it under control. It's a time of congested schedule, it's not like we can trully show "what we're made of" against Colchester. Win by 3 or by 6 or 7 is all the same. Need to pace ourselves, if we do well in the upcoming month we could find ourselves in top 4 race. If not we can turn our attention to Europa and get our ticket to CL there, but we should know by February what our priorities are for the season, as far as competitions goes.

I'd tend to agree. I've been saying the exact same thing about that no.10/third midfielder position as well.

Pogba is straight back into the team regardless of if he is leaving in the Summer IMO, simply because next season, it won't be Andreas/Lingard/Mata who is first choice there. We might as well use Pogba there and hope he's at it, as he'd offer more than those players. When we're pretty much 99% bringing in a new player who's expected to start every important game, it doesn't matter who plays the position in the mean time as it won't effect the overall formula much. If anything, one of Mata/Andreas may be forced out as well.

As for Jones, I think it's long overdue that he leaves, hopefully we can find a buyer at a similar price we get for Smalling (I am assuming Smalling & Sanchez deals will be finalised next month). We could be in the market for another CB in the Summer though, as I'm not quite sure if Rojo/Bailly can stay fit enough to provide cover and give us the option to rest players in the less important games.

I’ll miss Jones. Seeing him live is like an Iggy Pop gig; you fear for his team mates, the ball boys, and - like Iggy - the audience. I’ll think back on goal-saving sliding tackles - with his chin. Clearances that still gather ice in the stratosphere. Facial contortions to defy conventional physics....

we should loan him out first to a smaller PL team. He will perform if he’s starting and we can sell him for more. Maybe west ham. But anyway only if smalling comes in and Bially deserves games in smaller cups. I think there’s still a player in there considering his biggest problems was aggression. A good coach can make him work.
