we nearly always have one rubbish half and one much better half, LVG obviously wanted the duff half out the way first. roll on the better half now!

Fellani's power is not needed for this game....throw in Herrera/Mata

Though I agree he's better centrally, this argument is also a bit of a cop out.

I think people who expected QPR-esque performances every week (or anything like that) are in for a shock, regardless of where he plays.
I don't expect world class performances from him every week, but I do expect him to be able to influence the game every week and I think he's far more likely to do that from a central position. He can go either side of a player when in there, while on either wing he can usually only go one way. (Outside when out left, inside when out right)

I love how people demand we should create more, because Crystal are obviously not defending with 11 men behind the ball so it would've been very easy to just go out and create.

We've done alright, one small error lead to their chance. For the rest we've been dominating, as long as we don't break mentally we're fine today.

Still totally in support of LVG but he has to get rid of fellaini and get some movement and better play going.

based on this season, giving janujaz the no.11 shirt is like giving no.7 shirt to Valencia

Is corner taking really that much of a different skill to taking free kicks from a similar position?

I for one am beginning to question his tactical nous.

Is he really a tactical genius or is he the manager of man utd?

Janujaz should be a number 10 and nothing else. He just keeps putting him on the wing and Janujaz keeps flopping.

Di Maria is ineffective on the wing. At least put him back centrally so we can see whether it is position or form

Di Maria is still, STILL, taking corners.

Is van Gaal an idiot? Or is he just too stubborn to change things
Probably not an idiot since he's been manager of Barca, Bayern, Ajax, Manchester United, plus all the trophies he's won and paved the success for others. Not stubborn either considering how many changes he's already made this year. Don't think there's much he can do if either the players aren't playing the way he wants, or if he's trying to find the right balance still.

I keep beating on this drum but Rooney offers nothing as a a midfielder. First touch and passing simply aren't good enough. Striker or bust.
    ---------------DDG------------
    Valencia-----Mcnair----Blind-----Shaw

    -------------Carrick---------------------
    ------ADM----Herrera---Januzaj

    ------------Rooney------------
    -----------RVP---------------

Forget about the physicality Fellaini brings. He's not even influencing the midfield at all and jogs back when CP brings the ball forwards instead of getting back to defend. Attacking, he also offers nothing of note I'd rather stick something useful like Herrera to boost our attack and pressing and stick Rooney where he belongs instead of in midfield.

    Finally a good set piece.

No where near enough tempo in our attack. Fellaini is cumbersome. Valencia has the brain of a slug can only function at walking pace on the ball. Januzaj and Di Maria are shot of confidence and dont seem to want to try to take anyone on. RVP seems to have forgotten how to football.

Carrick seems to offer so little in midfield - slowmo passing, no movement, basically nothing to warrant a spot on the field

Pass, pass, pass, back pass, side pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, miss, lose possession, get back into position, win back possession.. Rinse and repeat.
