I'd prefer us to rest Varane and play him on for midweek game, given he can't play every 3 days anyway. Amrabat for full back and Lindelof - Maguire in the middle.

Varane and Linda for 45 mins each, Palace will be a tougher opponent than Galatasaray i think.

In 2001/02 we played 16 European games. Even if we won the Champions League this season we’d play maximum 13.
yeah i remember we had 2 group rounds in CL in early 2000's i think that football is more intense today with players being demanded to run all the time, hence traditional no. 10 is deemed as luxury player now.

    Think we will see:

    Dalot - Varane - Lindelof - Reguilon

    Casemiro - Amrabat

    Mount - Bruno - Rashford

    Hojlund
We won't - Reguilon is unavailable. Otherwise this is exactly what I would have been hoping to see too.

I suppose that perforce means Amrabat on left back. And probably Mount in midfield, and either Antony or Pellistri on the right. Or - shudder - another game with the diamond, and McTominay.

Dammit, I was really stoked to see how it would work with Amrabat in the midfield and Mount on the right.

Need another good showing today. Another dominating performance would be good! We need to start banging in goals and getting a decent GD. Think we go with Amrabat LB again as it worked so well him coming into midfield, that helped us dominate with him and Casemiro, it also gave Mount a lot more freedom and he looked good.

it’s under assumption that Antony is not match fit. If he somehow is, it’s him instead of Mejbri

Rumour on twitter that Pellistri starts today

(FPL leaker that always seems to get the city team right - unsure how reliable he is for united)

Possibly Amrabat at LB with Eriksen in midfield, given Amrabat can provide some cover in the midfield.

I would've like to see Garnacho start, but im sure marcus and bruno will. Hannibal deserves to start i think, so i hope he does.

Hopefully a similar set-up to midweek with Amrabat stepping into midfield. Its a shame we have 12 injured left backs, would like to see him and casemiro get a run of games next to each other properly.

My team for this would be:

    If Reguilon is fit:
    4-2-3-1
    Onana
    Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Reguilon
    Casemiro, Amrabat
    Mount, Bruno, Rashford
    Hojlund

    If Reguilon is not fit:
    3-4-3/3-4-1-2
    Onana
    Varane, Maguire, Lindelof
    Dalot, Casemiro, Amrabat, Mount
    Bruno, Hojlund, Rashford

I’d go with that… think that gives us the most balanced team. If we was going of form though I’d drop Rashford for Garnacho.

Why are people so sure Lindelof starts ahead of Maguire? He put in a solid performance on Wednesday, and I think he deserves another start.

Ye I think we might go Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Amrabat for the back line.

I think it is all about partnerships, and Varane & Lindelov have played a few times now so have the understanding. Maguire is the next available option.

Because Lindelof has been consistently favoured ahead of Maguire.

This Crystal Palace team will not be the same we played on Tuesday. They already looked better when they subbed some starters in the second half. But at least they don't have Edouard and Olise. Expecting a minimal victory or a draw.
Same could be said for United...

Eze is their main threat. Impressive cameo on Tuesday. Casemiro will struggle against him.

I think Maguire is actually a better partner for Varane than Lindelof. Maguire is more aggressive, likes to come tight to the striker whereas both Lindelof and Varane prefer to cover in behind.

I might just vomit on my desk if I see McTominay or Eriksen starting.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Amrabat
    Casemiro
    Pellistri - Bruno - Hannibal - Rashford

I think one of them will start, probably Mctominay but hopefully with players returning it won’t happen many more times after today.

Stupid question time. Do the turnstiles stay open after 3pm? Traffic is a fecking nightmare. Normally there with two hours to spare but this is going to be close.
