Chris Sutton's been brutal with his prediction. Then again, he predicted brentford to beat us 3-0 last week which I thought was ludicrous but look how that turned out!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prediction in the PL where the away team is to win 1-5. Even predicting that is the one of the most embarrassing things I’ve seen since supporting UTD.

And this is a Liverpool side that drew their opening games against average teams such as Fulham, Palace.

If United are to be hammered once again at Old Trafford by Liverpool it will say a lot more about United than anything else and the flaky players choosing not to put in the effort and likely gifting a number of goals.

So rumors are Martinez as a DM and Varane in to partner Maguire.
    De Gea
    Dalot Maguire Varane Malacia
    Martinez Fred
    Sancho Eriksen Rashford
    Martial

Interesting; where have you heard these rumours?

edit: eventually I would actually like to see United try an actual midfield three. Possibly Fred, Casemiro and Martinez. They would have so much more control of games that way I feel.

Once casemiro is here, we'll play Martinez at the back, just right now we don't have a DM. Delaney (I know..) was the one who said he might go Martinez as a DM.

If you want to see Martinez with Casemiro in midfield then IMO the logical 3rd player is Eriksen.

So will he replace Ronaldo with martial or is he going to start them both , we could see an interesting line up.

Cool. Where do you see the rumors?
Delaney wrote it, it's believable. We just signed Casemiro to be DM and Martinez is the closest thing to a DM currently. He took him off last week at half as a CB. Clearly he wants more solidity in midfield.

Guess it's definitely Varane over Maguire. Also Chelsea digging through our rubbish pile is always a pleasure.

Not that it will be happen but would be interesting to see what the media would say if we grabbed 3 points and went above them.

I’m confident McTominay starts this one. After the showing at Brentford, ETH will have realised that you need some physicality in the middle of the pitch. A Martinez/Fred pivot is simply too lightweight and will get bullied.

There is fear. Genuine fear in the way United were playing at Brentford.
DDG and the back 4 are just not comfortable enough with the ball. And we saw the way that Brentford exposed that fear.
So I can see Liverpool trying to start really quickly and taking every opportunity to to close down the defenders and goalkeeper.
All the teams are well aware of all the United weaknesses.

One thing is absolutely certain in this game is Liverpool are going to press high, fast and intense.

It’s going to be interesting how we approach this. I wouldn’t be surprised to see our defence and GK go a lot more direct and long for this game. Especially with how high Liverpool lines play. Liverpool are able to be got at as they always give you a chance in behind. It’s going to come down to how well Sancho and Rashford can exploit the channels.

I would really like to see Martial play as I think him, Sancho and Rashford can hurt Liverpool in behind. I just don’t see how we’d be able to service Ronaldo with enough chances if he starts.

Who do we play after this one? I'm just wondering where we'll eventually pick up our first points.

Be nice just for once if these players actually turned up and put a shift in.

I'd have felt more confident we could pick up points against Soton and Leicester, both are almost as bad as we are, but both fixtures are away and both are within 5 days of each other. We picked 1 point from those fixtures last season, against Soton, and that was before everything crashed and burned.

But I think we will get something at least.

Ten Hag needs to adjust to the PL and move Martinez to midfield permanently, starting with this game. He has seen two games now against mid table sides with Martinez at CB. That should be all the hints he needs to know that playing a player that short at CB is a disaster waiting to happen. Fortunately for us, Martinez is great on the ball and solid and has played midfield before and midfield is an area that we need reinforcements in even with the addition of Casemiro. Its a no brainer.

Ten Hag has seen Martinez is dominant in the air and will start him at left cb again Monday. Cut the bs.
