    Lukaku to bully Otamendi
We kind of need someone to feed our forwards, Martial, Lukaku and Rashford have all been isolated when not playing with Pogba. Add to the fact that City are sure to dominate the shit out of the possession stats, we need to be effective, efficient and quick with counter attacks. The release ball is the most important thing they should be practicing from now till the beginning of the game.

I hope we don't freeze like we did last season.
The first half last year was difficult to watch.

Remember there was a time when United got a lot of shit for scoring most of their goals late in games, guess when City are doing it, it's okay and even proof of a championship team.
Nobody saying that buddy. Just some posters pointing to their drop in form although results have been maintained.

Herrera, fellaini, Matic, basically whoever is in the middle need to play out of their skins and get our forwards into it

This. My main concern is that, without Pogba, we're in danger of having our forwards too isolated. Someone needs to be that link.

Given the last couple of bid wins for us combined with hints at a wobble from city , at least form wise, the pogba loss is a massive gain for them. Horrific timing

We have to win this no doubts about that. Pogba will be a huge miss, but it cannot be an excuse. All the good work we have done this season will be undone if we lose this. I think and hope it is 3-1 To united with Martial,Lukaku,Lingard scoring for us and Aguero getting them a late consolation goal.

If we lose it’s over imo. We still have a chance if we draw, but to be honest we should do everything possible to win this. 5 points isn’t much, especially considering City’s form. We could actually be leading by the end of the month if we win on sunday. feck me I’m nervous.

    Maybe Fellaini for Martial?
Would hate to see that. Fellaini will be rusty, and should only be used from the bench. Taking out Martial totally diminishes our attacking threat and will just lead to more pressure being heaped on our defence. One of Rashford or Martial needs to start this if we're to get anything from the game, and I expect one of them will.

I'd have Zlatan Lukaku Fellaini and one runner to compliment them (Martial or Rashford).

Game plan to defend and punt it long to any giant and have them knock it down for the runner.

Lukaku and Rashford(Martial) can run in behind so we can really damage them. There are enough giants in the squad.

I imagine you'll do more or less the as you did against us. Slow the game down and hit them on the counter when possible. If there's a guy that can nullify City's attack it's probably Mourinho.

Lukaku and Rashford/Martial with their pace and strength can give City a bloody nose, make no mistake

soak up the pressure, biting tackles, wind up their players, defend well and give the boys up front an opportunity or two and we can win this

think this match is as much about character as ability and I think we will rise to the occasion

    2-1 United

If we don't bother to have a go at them then we might as well not turn up. Only a win will do here.

Fancy us for this, massive game and we've got to go for the win.

Would be good if the thing about Silva is true, they were poor the other week when he was injured. KDB is obviously a massive threat but i think both Sane and even more-so Sterling are key players which need keeping quiet. If we do this i think we're in good shape.

For counter attacking hoof ball to be most effective, very important to get City Centre Back’s punished with early yellow cards.

I expect quite abit abit if diving and theatrics from our forwards on early game and in this instance, thoroughly endorse such a plan.

On that basis, I like the idea that Fellaini, Ibra, Lukaku, Matic all get forwards on counter attack with Herrera and wing backs lofting crosses into penalty box. Do that for 65 mins and then bring on any of Rashford, Martial, Lingard for last 25 mins of fast and direct counter attacks.

Batter them into submission and then release Tony and Rashford.

    Worth a read.

Second paragraph paints a grim picture....

...it [the Derby] could have profound consequences well beyond the end of this campaign. With the Pep Guardiola model established, his squad packed with technically gifted and tactically aware devotees, City’s level is set. Given Mourinho’s habitual third-season problems, the likelihood of further upheaval at Chelsea in the summer and perhaps mounting dissatisfaction among Tottenham’s young players as they see their peers earning far more elsewhere, City may find themselves without a serious challenger in the short-to-medium term.
I don't fully agree, but interesting nonetheless.

Meh, when Chelsea dominated first 2 seasons under Jose, many experts said Chelsea will dominate PL for years, then ManUtd won next 3 league titles.

I disagree with most on here. This game is not a must win and a loss is acceptable. Like I've said before, we are still a team recovering. A loss against someone like Huddersfield would be totally acceptable but with City and the form they are in we cannot be angry at out team.

That said.. if we beat them I have us down to win the PL.

We can sit back against them like we did against Arsenal but will they attack? Arsenal had to because they were 2-0 down. Why do City need to take risks? It could be like against Liverpool where Mourinho is waiting for the attack so he can counter but it doesn't come.

Me neither. I think it's because I looked at Watford, Arse and City and thought 6 points would be great so the pressures off a bit.
that too. I was fearing all 3 games but we've done so well and already won 2. Good stuff.

Pep will attack. It is just what he does. He doesn't play for a draw, but to win.

If there's one person who knows how to stop a team like City at the moment it's Mourinho.
The biggest concern is Pogba, to get a win without him will take a miracle. I'd be pretty sure we can win with Pogba, without him the most realistic result I can see is a draw unfortunately.

Really? Against Chelsea you had a lot of possession and didn't do much with it until Chelsea started to get more aggressive about winning the ball.

Good thing about this game is that it seems Jose has realised he can’t afford to play for draws anymore and is going after results. Dangerous game but his hand has been forced by City’s relentless winning.

    Ah the feck.
Maybe missing Pogba is a blessing in disguise.

There's going to be a big question mark on how he sets up. And that's going to be unpredictable.
