Yes, just beaten by the better team tonight, but not in such a way that there’s a lack of hope for the next time the teams meet. Some good things but needed a big performance from one of Martial or Pogba which didn’t quite materialise.
We were shown up - their midfield walked through ours.

One of the bigger question marks I have with Ole is our control of games and its a question that is yet to be answered. We lack real intelligence and composure with the ball.

To be fair Maguire was great today.
He was. And if you see my posts I'm one of his biggest supporters. But this is the one part of his game that i'd like to see him change. He tends to pull away from low crosses to avoid own goals. I'd rather see him be aggressive there and try and clear it. If he does score an OG then at least he tried to do the right thing. It was a dangerous ball though...

They are way ahead of Spurs.

Spurs will look to use Son and Kane on the break. Isolate Kane and they will win comfortably. Spurs were outplayed at time by Brentford who have no real quality
Spurs have already beaten them this season haven’t they?

We’re almost exclusively losing crucial games in the last year. 7 of our 10 losses:

    - Liverpool away (biggest game of the league season)
    - Chelsea (eliminated from a cup)
    - Sevilla (eliminated from a cup)
    - Arsenal home (big game awful performance)
    - Paris home (needed a point to qualify)
    - Leipzig away (eliminated from a cup)
    - City home (eliminated for a cup)

When the pressure is on we just don’t seem to deliver.
Good point. Big games need big managers

Not something I’ve observed! You might have a point though.

Not sure what game you watched. Outclassed.
I thought, taking the caliber of the opposition into account, we were pretty good tonight. I was literally typing that post as the second goal went in

Rashford played well. If Cavani had been CF he nods in that brilliant cross into the 6 yard box and it’s 1-1 and a different game.
Brilliant that you noticed that. I don’t get how Martial always just expects the ball reach exactly where he is.
CFs are supposed to make runs not stand in their spots like dumb blondes

Chill guys, it's only the Carabao cup. We are making decent progress. Desperately need a winger and a top striker. Also, I still don't trust Lindelof-Maguire partnership. Bailly deserved a start here.

I disagree. He had the one chance in the first half when he got past Zinchenko. Poor touch when he was through on goal another time but was offside anyway. He didn’t do anything in the second half.

Yes, a despondent United fan who has witness city outclass us countless times since Fergie retired.
they outclassed plenty of times with him in charge?
Some of his team selections are tactics were pretty gutless remember?

The PE teacher that led United to the top of Premier League.

    That's quite a story
The PE teacher that led United to the top of Premier League is like he actually won the trophy right ? fecking embarassing

We will never win the league with him as a manager, he's just vibes and passion but tactically inept

Yes he’s on his heels, he’s trying to learn the gambler’s instinct so credit to him but it’s not coming naturally.

I said to myself I will try to be more positive. Today, we've seen some positives, we created chances, or better chances and better "almost chances".

Just the decision making wasn't there especially Bruno's. That's why we shouldn't rely on him so much and bring in another top creative outlet if we let Pogba go. Pogba himself was decent, think he kept the ball well under pressure and tried to create without being wasteful but their last wall of defence was just very good today.

Maguire was great, you can see we have a leader on the pitch when we're losing, knows how to step up. Unlucky with letting the ball go, which looks like an own goal if he stepped in but the ball could have been stopped earlier by Lindelof there too. Noone actually disappointed though, except for Bruno but that happens.

Unfortunately for us it's a cup game and it seems like we are more losing those crucial duels lately. Still joint top of the league with a game in hand, however that can change too in a few weeks. So let's just stay focused and try to win as many as possible. we can lose one but win 4,5. Let's be brave and go for it.

His second half wasn’t as good, I still think he did more in the match than the other two most advanced in Martial and Pogba.

Disappointed to lose but this wasn’t nearly as bad a performance as some make out. We were very much in It until their 2nd (which is a once a season hit from him) but our Match winners just weren’t quite at it. I’d happily accept this defeat for wins at Turf Moor and Anfield.

You mean the times where we won the league? For get that, you mean the times where we even CHALLENGED for the league??
Where are we in the league right now? We've also beaten city home and away when we've been nowhere near challenging.
You've no point here, it's just noise mate.

Where in my post does it say that. I said his erratic passing and regularly losing possession was the reason other top clubs didn't want him when he was at sporting and why he wasn't Ole's first choice.
He was shopped around by sporting all summer and there were no takers, not even us. We then signed him out of desperation in January. It was a panic buy but it worked out fantastic.
He's a brilliant player and most top clubs would now want him but not extreme possesion system managers like pep.
Your post literally said his erratic passing was the reason top clubs weren’t in for him.

And now you’re saying pep wouldn’t want him in his team. You do realise de Bruyne losing the ball multiple times by taking risk taking passes too?
