Yes. Great display today. Very commanding in the first half, and goals were excellently made and taken. Defence held up OK, and that peno was just one of those things; otherwise Jones had an excellent game. A lot of the side playing well; the belief in the manager is great to see.

    De Gea - 7/10
Solid performance, went the right way for the pen, but nothing short of teleportation could've saved that shot. Not a whole lot to do for him this game.

    Jones - 7/10
Very good game, his spontaneous runs forward were a pleasure to watch. Easily our best CB in contention with Smalling. The pen was just unlucky, doesn't discredit a very good performance.

    McNair - 5/10
Very impressed with the young lad overall, but this wasn't one of his best matches. Constantly playing it back to De Gea and undercooking his passes. Can do a whole lot better, especially given what he's shown earlier in the season.

    Carrick - 6/10
Hardly set a foot wrong, but he was clearly saving himself for Spurs. Very calm and minimalist performance from him.

    Young - 8/10
Very impressed with his crosses, had great deliveries into the box and solid defensively. A couple of flicks past the Newcastle men which were very easy on the eye as well. Can't believe this is the same Young from last year.

    Valencia - 6/10
Pretty solid, but nothing standout from him. He's clearly enjoying the wingback role though and his pace plus stamina are making him a perfect fit for it. Can do a touch better, but nothing to complain about.

    Rooney - 10/10
What more can I say? Proved why he deserved the armband today. Absolutely immense player.

    Falcao - 9/10
Such a selfless, hearty performance from him. Could have scored that second one, but decided to play it safe and square it to Rooney. He's entering form and I'm loving every second of it.

    RvP - 7/10
The goal was nice and he's clearly getting more involved in the buildup play, but he could have easily had a brace. The goal was all Rooney and he fluffed a good few chances that a striker of his level should be converting.

    Fletcher - 1/10
Probably a good lad. Funny, intelligent, family man. I wouldn't know. But he's absolute shite of a player. Sorry, but he just hasn't recovered from his disease. Should not be playing for any team with top 6 ambitions. Middle-to-bottom table midfielder, unfortunately.

    Rafael - 5/10
He was only put in for 10 mins after all, but hardly did more than foul oppo players. It was funny to watch him tackle and then smile cheekily.

    Wilson - 3/10
Poor. Time is on his side, but he should have started improving by now.

Good win. We're much more threatening going forward when we play more direct football than when we try to open up spaces by playing short horizontal passes.

Its obvious that the gap will appear when you sub a player like falcao for wilson, the levels is not thesame, though wilson had a shit cameo.

    Or Evans.

Thought Fletcher was fine today. Didn't do much wrong if at all. Can't understand any vitriol against him when we were clearly not going to be doing a lot of attacking at the stage he came on.

Putting in Fletcher and Wilson has killed United's attacking play.
Wilson is poor and is miles off Harry Kane of Spurs.
Should have put in Blackett and move McNair to midfield.
McNair can defend and more comfortable on the ball.
Kane's got like 2 or 3 years on Wilson and has played far more football above reserve level. He should be.

There's still every chance that the coach hits a tree on the way over and puts half our squad in hospital.

And that folks is my thousandth post.

Mata was the top player in my opinion. He was instrumental in the first half. Sure Rooney finished both goals, but the first one was a sitter and I thought Rooney gave the ball away cheaply too often in the second half. Unfortunately, too many people just focus on the finisher instead of the creators or the stoppers.

Overall, I though team played very well. Only Darren Fletcher looked poor. His giveaway was dreadful because he needed to make a few mistakes for that to happen.

Other than Falcao, this is exactly the same boys who won the league by 11 points two seasons ago, and dropped down to a clueless and most depressing 7th last season, and LVG now has them back up in 3rd place, playing with confidence and winning. Seems to reflect exactly the relative rankings of the three managers of the team in that period.

Kane was on loan at Leyton Orient when he was 18. Wilson is playing for a 'top 3' side.

Great overall performance from United. Our forward link up was great and our defense wasn't all that shaky from the beginning of the season. I wish we would've killed the game off properly with a clean sheet but that's one thing to work on for the future. Looking forward to Spurs!

Solid game from us, Newcastle counter attacks in the first half got our bums squeeky but fortunately we reacted better later on.
Rooney was very good going forward but still needs to adapt to the deeper role. Made some stupid decisions and soft passes.
Could Evans please stop the spread hands gesture, can't stand it.

For me, the one blight on a fantastic day at the office is Fletcher. A terrible disease has fecked him and he'll never return to that incredible form he sported from 09 to 11.

I'm concerned about Wilson. Garbage time appearances are not intended to yield incredible results. Just getting used to playing in front of 76,000 fans is enough for right now.

Not happy the momentum went out of the game when subs were made, but that was more down to what was available on the bench today. Still good up to then, so happy. Great that the unbeaten run is ongoing.

We are now dropping into the realm of the utterly ridiculous. I was only able to watch the game last night till the 60th minute and so when reading through these forums expected to see Fletcher put on the worlds worst ever performance on a football pitch judging by the comments being made.
So because of that I watched the last half hour and took special note of Fletcher.
I really do wonder what game you watched or if you have ever watched football before to come up with such a ludicrous number for his performance.
He was quite simply nowhere near as bad as 1/10.
I would love to see young Periera or Pearson get a run in place of Fletcher but the anti Fletcher thing on here has now reached idiotic proportions.

Good display yesterday. Looked a bit vulnerable defensively in the first half but were very threatening going forward until we took our foot off the gas.

RVP, Rooney, Falcao and Mata linked up very well and Young's crosses were always a threat on the left too.

You do know we play again in 37hours? course the momentum is gonna go at 3-0 ffs
I mentioned that was more down to the quality on the bench. I can understand that they needed to take their foot off the gas to save their energy for the next week. I just hope we have better options for the bench on Sunday, if things aren't going quite right, Fletch is not going to change things.
