People asking Mainoo to play two matches in 24 hours is quite something.

Anyway I'm not going to Old Trafford tonight for this one, so we'll probably win.

Would like to see Garnacho & Hannibal start, Mount in at Number 10, Rege back in, I suppose Martial can have a start too as he's still alive.

Does anyone actually expect the manager not to pick Bruno? He plays almost every minute of every game.

It's shocking to say but I just don't see how we win tonight.
Newcastle will play some fringe players and maybe some from their youth set up. We'll hopefully rotate a bit too. I think will be a good game either way but we are favourites according to the bookies going into the game.

The irony is that our so called 2nd team is better than our 1st team.

Has Mainoo even played a full 90 in the Premier League? He's been elevated to saviour status based on a decent pre-season.
    Yea, it's ridiculous.

He looks really talented but an awful lot of people are going to be really disappointed when they realise he isn't Bellingham 2.0.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
If they start their first team then I'd expect them to win. If they rotate heavily then we should get through it, but they'd probably still have enough to hurt us depending on who plays. They beat second string City with their second own string team.

    I went for

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Reguilon
    Amrabat
    Mejbri Mount
    Antony Hojlund Garnacho

As my starting 11 - I'm not sure ETH will go with that side, but I'd love to see us start without the dead weight of Rashford and panic mode of Bruno.

I could see that team setting off to a scorching start and then Newcastle threaten to come back into the game...2 - 0 at halftime then a Newcastle goal in the second leading to the inevitable squeeky bum defend the lead aproach. I'm hoping Maguire is Brain-fart free tonight and we hold on.

I'm going to make my way into the ETH out camp if he doesn't drop Bruno and Rashford. Shows he lost his balls and is scared of making big decisions regarding both of them.

Important game for ETH. He has been (rightly..) criticised for his selection and subsequent comments following Sunday's game against Citeh. So he needs something. My thoughts are that he has nothing to lose by freshening up the team.. at least get some good energy in there.

If Newcastle play a second-string XI, and beat us, then I'm not sure how ETH will make it to the end of the year. It's a shame, but ETH has to show some flexibility. Seems so stubborn.

Maguire, Mount, Amrabat, Garnacho, Pellestri, Mainoo, Mejbri, Rasmus, Reguillon.. all must play. Varane too, get some fitness. Yes we will miss Jonny Evans left-foot from centre-half (which is the reason ETH brought him in..), but Varane needs the games.

I don't mind losing if it's a case of ETH saying "this is how I want to play football and we will keep at it until it sticks because the long term benefits will justify the short term pain".

However, him constantly chopping and changing things and not seeming to have a clear plan or philosophy in place isn't going to serve us well, I fear.

The way I see it, if he plays the first XI and we lose - People go mad, if we win, they are happy that we win. If we play the second team and lose, he can say "This is why I picked the first team", if we win he has a chance to drop Rashford and Co for underperforming so it's a no brainer to rotate here.

apart from that palace game, its always been rinse and repeat, with the odd change, dont know why people are expecting anything different. ETH comes across as very stubborn, which is not a bad trait when your successful (then its treated as being focused). but when your losing, its insanity.

Depends how seriously both teams take it - I assume we'll play the same team from the EFL which will be interesting to see given how well that setup did last time.

I think he’ll go back to a similar team as per that Palace game in the cup. We had lost 3 out of 4 games prior to that game and he changed it up, and it was our best performance of the season.

Hopefully Bruno and Rashford will be tested and we'll get to see Mount and Garnacho on their positions.

    Agreed. Lineup vs Palace was:

    Onana

    Dalot
    Varane
    Maguire
    Amrabat

    Casemiro
    Mount
    Hannibal

    Pellistri
    Martial
    Garnacho

I'm expecting the same team but with Reguilon in for Hannibal (or Casemiro depending on fitness) and Antony for Pellistri.

Quite fancy us to win given Newcastle will prioritise the league so likely no Wilson & Trippier and injuries to Isak & Botman (their best players IMO)

They've scored more goals than anyone else in the league, and that's not the type of club you relish having to face when your kits are too tight.

We win this, and I think we can go on a bit of a fumbling run through the next games with some wins. Important to not let the Derby defeat define our November ahead given our reaction.

We lose this, and I see us free falling unfortunately. Out of the cup this early, with top 4 looking unlikely given the strength of teams above us - could derail the season this early and I see heads dropping.

Hope this is done and dusted in 90 minutes, otherwise it'll be a late one. Why exactly is it an 8.15pm kick off anyway?

Newcastle have so many players missing through injury/suspension and will inevitably rest players ahead of Arsenal on the weekend.

    We have no excuses here.

Be genuinely amazed if United go through tonight via any means. Probably get the scousers away next round if we did somehow scrape it anyway.
