Our French players to topple Paris.:D

Seriously though, PSG have incredible quality up top even without Neymar and could be a nightmare for our defense. But since I'm feeling so optimistic, and coupled with the fact that it's a home game and they will be wary of our form, I am hoping for a scrappy 2-1 win.

Would still be their advantage with the away goal, but I don't think we can prevent them from scoring unless Dave grows an extra pair of arms.

This is the big one. I genuinely feel we have as good a chance as anyone to beat PSG. No idea if we can do it twice or even manage a draw at PSG but it's going to be great to watch regardless.

When Jose was manager I was certain we would lose this. Now there's a glimmer of hope

I'd give us more than a glimmer. PSG are there for the taking without Neymar.
I'm confident we can grab a result in the home fixture, but away in Paris is another matter entirely.

Does anyone know if Neymar will return for the second leg?

    He's out for both apparently.

Neymar out, Cavani, Mbappe and Verratti with recent injury issues, PSG playing worse than they've played all season and United playing better than they've played all season.

What seemed like a one sided match up now seems extremely balanced.

Fergie used to pack midfield in Big CL games. I remember Rooney playing out wide in a few games.
Given that Ole is using the SAF blueprint, I’m not sure we will be lining up in a 4-3-3 on Tuesday. I think Mata might well start.

I don’t think we’ll see us starting with a diamond midfield. PSG is likely going to play Marquinhos deep in their midfield and I don’t think we need to have a specific player at #10 to mark him. PSG play three at the back and are vulnerable on the wings, expect us to see Martial and Lingard/Rashford very wide and pushed far up.

I’d prefer Bailly over Jones. Mbappe’s pace is frightening and we need him. I wouldn’t be disappointed to see Jones though after the game he had today. But Ole has said that he has picked the teams for the upcoming games and since the decision was made a while ago I doubt he’d be picking Jones over Bailly. He could change his mind though, who knows.

Edit: Forgot Verratti is back, I believe we’ll play with a diamond then.

Mata? No chance. Lingard has been performing far better than him and was rested today in preparation for tuesday. Also, PSG’s weakness is out wide. Bernat is offensive as a wingback and Kimpembe is suspect when covering for him. We’re going to need someone to exploit that space left behind Bernat. Lingard or Rashford undoubtedly.

They'll crumble at Old Trafford like they always do away in high pressure European ties. Question is can we score enough? Even in our new found style our finishing is hit and miss.

I wanna see Ander and Matic give Di Maria a good kicking. Will we set up to counter?

I'm confident we'll get a win but i'm worried we won't keep a clean sheet and I think it might end up being a high scoring game. That being said, if Pogba and our forwards play to their full potential there's no reason why we can't get an away goal or two in Paris.

Our finishing has been magnificent apart from Burnley.

Come now, we can't expect him to have 12 arms

Do PSG have a fan forum? Anyone have an idea of how their fans are feeling about this match? Are they expecting to win or are they nervous?

We have a chance now, and that's all you can ask. That and it being an entertaining game and not like that Moyes game v Bayern in 2011, where we basically played like a non league team against a Premier league giant.

They're nervous for sure, they're in really poor form right now.

It will be great to go into this game with some degree of optimism on a big night in the Champions League with a raucous atmosphere as opposed to looking at this with a large degree of trepidation and worrying about watching yet another meek and spineless surrender in a big game.

    Cavani out as well? Christ!
Maybe 3-1 then, rather than 3-2. I just have a feeling though that they'll outscore us over two legs and we'll narrowly go out.

No excuse for not beating these at home. They aren't that great and their best player is out. Away in Paris a different story but they were shit in Naples and Liverpool, we should be winning.

Im predicting (hoping for) a wild 4-2 win for us. PSG don't sit back and defend. They will play an open game and try to attack us. We play Lingard as false 9 and pick them apart on the counter. They push their full backs very high so there'll be plenty of space for Martial and Rashford to exploit.

With no Neymar and Cavani, there will be too much pressure on Mbappe. We just need to mark Veratti out of the game. Put Herrera on him. Di Maria will lose the ball a billion times which we can exploit. Pogba to boss the game.

Our match going fans need to bring the roof down. This is the first time we are facing a top European team in 5 years and actually have a good chance to go through to the next round.

Feels like ages since we had a big game at OT. Can't really remember much in the last year.
We have a good chance to get through and 1st leg is absolutely vital. Very important to take a lead into the second game if we want to progress.

My only question marks are CB #2 and Lingard. I'm honestly thinking Sanchez could be the better pick. Lingard has been substandard lately.

What sort of injury did Cavani pick up? Is he definitely out for Wednesday?
