On paper, this should be the easiest game of the group stages for us.

I'm expecting a classy win to be honest.

All of a sudden Depay is in everyone's line up.
With Rooney's illness not sure, Herrera injured, Wilson knocked, Martial injured.. what were you expecting?

Memphis is not in the line up because he was the best player by a mile suddenly.

Exactly. We're real short on numbers and he scored last game. What was he expecting?
    Are you surprised ?
Oh so it's confirmed Rooney and Martial are both out of the game has it? Or have you just made that up? We could quite reasonably have Martial, Rooney, Mata, Lingard, Young and Periera available for this game and all of whom people have called for to start over Memphis.

If you to look every single person who posted a line up has at least one of Martial or Rooney in it. But now he's getting the call over others.

I'd keep the same system as the one we used vs Watford but play Memphis and Martial up front
Rooney can replace Herrera and I think he'd enjoy that role.

do we have enough players who can walk for this?
I believe we will be taking some youth players with us, to ensure we do have enough players who can walk.
That International week we just had, has crippled us.

although the striker pair of Rooney and Martial, as well as Mata, could well feature during the upcoming fixture with PSV Eindhoven
So basically the players we thought could come back might come back... and Mata probably isn't really injured.

I hope Martial and Mata come back!!! Rooney should rest a little more, just to allow United to be the leader in C1...

I'm a big fan of Mata but if he is out, I don't think he'd be a massive miss. He hasn't been at his best for a few weeks and was poor against Watford - Herrera, on the other hand, will be a big miss.

I'd love to see Pereira given a start in this game, I think he'd bring more energy to the midfield which we seemed to lack once Herrera was subbed at the weekend. It would be an opportune time to play him given all the injuries to first team players anyway. Hopefully van Gaal has the balls to do it.

Hopefully Martial and Memphis start. And if Rooney really has to start (hopefully he doesn't) then I want him shunted out to the left wing so he can't slow us down in the final third so much

From what SNN have just said Schweinsteiger, Herrera, Carrick and Jones haven't trained today. No mention of Mata, Rooney and Martial so hoping they are fit. Our midfield suddenly looks very weak!

Maybe Schweinsteiger is just being rested from training? He isn't exactly the most fit player nowadays.

Injuries are a nightmare at the moment.

If Bastian is out then I'd like to see Pereira thrown in alongside Schneiderlin.

It's more likely, however, that Blind drops into midfield with Darmian going to left back and Rojo partnering Smalling.

None if it's ideal, but we'll be able to field a sensible team.

Looking forward to seeing how Jetro Willems plays tomorrow as he has looked a decent left back whenever I've watched PSV in the Dutch League on Sky.

Would assume BFS missing training is just a personal thing to him and not an injury.

Doubt he's injured unless he picked up a knock yesterday in training.

With Martial, Rooney and Fellaini confirmed fit, I'm going with:

    ------------ De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    --- Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger
    Lingard ---- Rooney ----- Memphis
    ------------- Martial

Seems the big question is which two out of Memphis, Mata and Lingard are going to start..

Is Schweinsteiger fit? I heard he missed training today. If so:

    de Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo
    Schneiderlin
    Rooney Fellaini
    Young Martial Memphis
    ---
Romero; Borthwick-Jackson, McNair; Goss, Pereira, Lingard; Wilson

Perhaps Lingard would keep his place with Young at Right Back again, but he'll feature in the game regardless. Depay will probably have some confidence back after a decent game so it makes sense to let him retain a place in the side; especially when his best performances have come in Europe. The other change I expect to what I've posted is probably Mata in for Martial or Young (Darmian excluded again). Meaning Rooney plays up front alone... Definitely stretching the squad here when you look at that bench :)

Reckon we'll still win this 3-1 though.

Schweinsteiger is fit as does Mata so most likely no U21s players on the bench.

Read somewhere that Regan Poole is training with the first team squad, I usually follow the U21s but I didn't this year, so who is this guy?
