Alexis Sanchez was one of the best attackers in the league now look at him.

There isn't any amount of money that will transform the sludge that Jose serves
Yeah, the lack of cohesion in attack. The lack of consistency. Players in and out of the team. In and out of form. Top signings looking shit. I tend to agree with you.

If it was 1 or 2 players struggling, it’d be understandable. But it’s just too many for it to be down to the players.

I have no doubt that Sanchez was bought just to prevent another club from getting. There is zero logic in the way he's been integrated in the team. There is zero logic how his inclusion disturbed the team. Mourinho has lost it. Modern day football has gone past him. He needs to take a break from it.

Aargh dude, for fear of being knee jerk, I’m holding back some of my opinions on Jose, but I can’t say I disagree with anything you’ve said.

We signed a player, one of the best in the league, and now the highest paid, without any real plan on integrating him into the team. In a position we already have 2 promising talents in. Now we look even worse as an attacking unit. You really couldn’t make it up.

It cannot be considered knee jerk since it was obvious from day one. That was my biggest worry even after the Yeovil game when Sanchez relatively well. These things don't happen by luck, just because you thrown players out there, doesn't mean it'll work itself.

The lack of planning we seem to have when we buy these so called big name players is amateur’ish.

The lack of cohesion out there, the lack of movement - especially the attackers, the preference for long balls, the way we lose the ball when we’re pressed - I honestly don’t understand how a club of our stature, with our quality players and a world class manager can’t sort these - what most of us would consider basics - but crucial in today’s game, out. I’m at a loss for an explanation.

Well he used to be, he simply isn't anymore.

Lindelof did not start the Huddersfield game though, hence he said starting XI
I know he didn't start. But using that parameter to completely efface his role in 2 goals conceded due to horrendous defending is manipulative use of stats.

You mean the match 5 months ago? Where he had that poor header leading to a conceded goal? Didn't start that match, but it is interesting you bring up a match that long ago.
Stats don't have an expiry date. It was this season and irrespective of whether he started or not, he conceded 2 goals from horrendous defending. Omitting that is misrepresentative.

It says more about you than it does about him. A poor header 5 months ago, come on! With this mentality there are no defenders left. Bailly: 1 own goal and 2 conceded in two games and a poor performance in last game leading to leaving CL. Jones: own goal, 1 conceded--> lost three points. Etc. Centrebacks have poor performances like everybody. You remember a poor header 5 months ago but has probably forgot about that missed sitter from a forward in the same match. Missed sitter and that poor header cost exactly the same.

And I didn't omit anything. I clearly stated that this was his stats from when he has been in the starting lineup. That was the whole point with the whole discussion; that it was not necessary to be worried just because he started the match, because his stats from starting matches is good (zero losses in CL and PL, one loss in the CC). It was a bit as a joke, but also because I feel he gets way more than his fair share of shit in this forum.

Didn't get home 'til late last night and still feel absolutely gutted. The atmosphere at the start of the game was fantastic but after the first 20 minutes the team went completely off the boil and the crowd soon followed. Yet at half time I couldn't see us losing it, just felt as though a slight tweak (Rashford left, Lingard right, Sanchez middle) would be enough to open them up. But somehow we became even more lethargic in the second half and the first substitution opened huge gaps in our midfield that they quickly punished.

Couldn't have asked for a better draw and to not be able to muster more than four shots on target against Sevilla in 180 minutes is nothing short of embarrassing.

The constant tinkering with the team is really getting annoying. Would it have been too much to ask to play the same 11 that started so well against Liverpool?

Got to rediscover the enthusiasm for Saturday's game but it honestly felt like the season ended when that second goal went in. Complete horror show.
